    Thanks @lock_code2004! Tignan ko kung paano ko maplano mga yan. Unfortunately walang kotse so have to rely on Public Transpo or lakad. Magstay ako sa Quest West End so hopefully madali public transpo from there. Magandang pahinga din muna sa weird weather dito sa Melbourne. Hahaha.

    so one block ka lang from the main bus/train station which is in Wellington st.
    may free CAT bus sa CBD... 4 colors, (red, blue, green, yellow)..
    sakyan mo lahat yan at ikutin mo lang.. hehe

    King's park - bus No.37 (sguro mga 10mins from your hotel)
    Perth CBD - Bell Tower .... Free CAT bus.. or pwede mo lakarin
    Northbridge CBD (nightlife/resto/dining) - Free CAT bus.. pwede din lakarin
    Fremantle/Cottesloe Beach - Train.. same train line ito.. mga 3 stations apart

    @Filamokio Hi, I was reading the thread and I noticed that you are a mechanical engineer. Just wanted to ask how the mechanical engineering industry, specifically semiconductors, is in Perth. How soon after you arrived were you able to find a job? We are still in the IELTS stage but hubby is also a mechanical engineer in the semiconductor industry mostly doing device kit design for testing of chips. Is there room in the gas and oil industry for design engineers like my hubby? Thanks :)

    @Clang Hi. I was backreading threads on the forum and I saw your post. Mech Eng din si husband and we are in the IELTS stage pa lang. Just wanted to know how your husband's job hunting went? Nakahanap na ba sya ng job that is in his line of work? Medyo apprehensive din kse kme sa job market for mech eng dyan kasi wala kme kakilala halos sa AU. Meron isa lang pero nasa Sydney naman sya. So pagpunta namin dyan as a family (positive thinking na maapprove ang visa), sugal talaga for us and medyo kinakabahan kme. May toddler pa kse kme na dala. Thank you and hopefully hindi too personal yung tanong ko.

    We will be moving to Perth by 1st week April 2014. Nag-iipon pa since may bitbit kmi ni hubby na 2kids.. So habang naghihintay, nag aaply na rin job online. Nagsesearch na rin kung paano mkaka rent ng apartment. Sometimes worried, pero I believe that God's favors are underway. Tulad ng story ni @Filamokio..

    Bka di ko alam may isang reader pla na mgpaparent ng apt sa April.. :)

    okay naman po.. maraming mga bahayan dyan kasi yan ang medyo booming na suburb ngaun..
    yup malapit sa shopping center.. malapit at may train station din naman to the city 15-20mins..

    - kung nagstart pa lang... pwede na bumili ng mga 2nd hand appliances/furnitures.. gumtree will be your bestfriend...

    -shopping/clothes, meron nmn mura sa "harbourtown" outlet mall ito.. pero dont expect too much.. mga basic lang.. pero definitely mas mura kesa sa mga malls..

    -transperth card, para sa bus/train... i-link sa bank account for auto load... this will give you 25% discount sa lahat ng trips..

    - pag travelling within a certain zone, meron maximum fare na babayaran kahit ilang trips ang gawin mo.. so plan mabuti ang trip...

    - pagtravelling na mag transfer sa ibang stations or mode of transport (e.g.bus-train) make sure na within 30mins para hindi ma-charge ulit.. so wag ng patumpik-tumpik..

    - groceries, check mga deals sa supermarket.. browse browse muna.. for example alam ko na mas mura ang ground beef sa coles kesa sa ibang stores.. so may mga schedule kung anu ang bilhin at kung saan.. lol..

    - magluto at magbaon..tapos kumain sa park..

    - lagi magdala ng bottled water, sa supermarket 1aud-1liter. pero pagbibili sa labas/resto 3aud - 200ml

    Hi perth folks,

    Arrived last Saturday here in Perth sa kasagsagan ng init. hehe.
    So far, nakapagpa-register na kami sa Medicare kanina. Balik ako tom para i-drop yung amendment form kasi hindi ko alam ang Medicare number ni hubby eh kailangan pala yung para sa Medicare Safety Net registration.

    Yung Centrelink, balikan ko na lang sa isang araw siguro kasi tom ay may appointment ako sa bank sa CBD. Been reading Centrelink website at medyo windang ako sa pag-intindi kung paano mag-file ng claim para sa allowance ng bata.

    Nagpunta kami ni anak ko sa local school kanina pero sarado. :(

    Saka na ako maghanap ng work kapag pumapasok na sa school si junakis. Hindi nag-workout yung application ko from overseas eh. :( Apply-apply nalang ulet. Acclimatize muna.

    God bless sa mga taong may final date na patungong perth....hopefully makakita din ng work at makapag settle...as of us, hanap pa din ng work. hubby used to work in a shipbuilding company while i work as a nurse...may dala din kaming toddler pagpunta sa perth...visa is already ok...work na lang ang kulang...hoping by march o april andyan na din kami...
