General Skilled Immigration Visa - Step By Step Process

Hello, I would like to ask kung same process pa din ba ung pag apply ng migration? I was already assessed by ACS before (2006) and I passed, but wasn't able to lodge visa application kasi nagkaroon lang ng personal issues. Nways, now ba what is the first step? pa assess ba ulit ako sa ACS? kasi I already have my account in Skillselect (immi.gov.au) and feeling ko, parang kelangan ma fulfill ko muna ung ibang requirements, like IELTS and assessment before I can submit my EOI (Expression of Interest). Help me pls. I wanted to push thru now with the migration. Thanks!

@habibi hi may friend ako na narefuse on the grounds of English ability. I think kaka- expire ng ielts niya when she lodged her visa. She was asked to reapply again after 6 months. It may be case to case basis- that, im not sure...think positive too... You've gone this far... For sure, nothing is impoasible with God..Hope this helps.

Sir's, i need an advice po asap sa mga makakatulong maraming slamat po in adv.

My Agent advised me na kahit standard assessment lang ang gawin namin. And she was firm na yun na lang. Prior to that, willing na ako magavail ng additional service (250AUD) to assess my skilled employment para maf support ung magiging 10 points na claim ko for relevant work exp. Lahat ng exp ko galing sa isang company lang, and last May 2014 was my exact 5 years in th company thus 10 points na ang pde ko maclaim.

Hindi ko na maalala kung san thread ko nabasa pero aprang may nag advise na applicable lang yung additional service para sa maraming naging employers, and if solid yung exp sa isang company, kahit standard assessment na lang.

Anyone can share their insight about this? Im worried kasi baka maging ground for refusal pa ng visa kapag hindi irecognize ng CO yung 5 years employment ko, praning lang, baka 3 or 4 years lang yung sabihin na relevant work exp ko, if that happens, short nako sa points. Need help po. pls.

@danz1213 - if isa lang ang work/company mo... then you really dont need the additional service.. kasi yun lang din naman work/company naman ang gagamitin mo sa skills assessment..

@lock_code2004 i was actually waiting for your enlightenment sir kasi hindi ako sure pero parang ikaw sir yung nagdiscuss nito sa iabgn thread.

anyways, ask ko po kung may possibility ba na kahit isang company lang ang pinagtrabahuhan ko ay portion lang nung tenure ang irecognize nila , say 3 or 4 yrs at hindi yung buong tenure na 5 yrs?

@danz1213 - if isa lang ang work/company mo... then you really dont need the additional service.. kasi yun lang din naman work/company naman ang gagamitin mo sa skills assessment..

@danz1213 - for most assessing agencies... example for EA, if you are doing the same job for that one company, i cant see any reason why portion lang nun ang pwedeng maging assessed as relevant..

unless if you are under ACS, meron kasi silang binabawas na minimum work exp..

@danz1213 Another learning dito sa forum. Yun kay hubby, isinama ng agent namin ang additional service 250AUD pwede palang hindi na. Sa mga friends ko na mag apply this year masabihan ko sila na i-save na lang ang 250AUD. Thanks for raising the inquiry. And thanks kay master @lock_code2004 sa malinaw na answer :-)

@lock_code2004 i see. i feel bad doubting my agent's advise and now malinaw na sakin kung bat ininsist nya na standard assessment lang. sabi lang kasi nya as reason "hindi na kailangan". hehe. and thank you for sharing your insight sir. you have a point, im just being too paranoid for all possible grounds of getting negative result kaya gusto ko planchado.thanks again. for sure ill be back for more questions along the way

oo nga Ma'am eh, actually for worry free reason, pede tlga magavail ng additional assessment, pero on the context explained by Sir @lock_code2004 na there is no likely reason para idisregard yung portion ng tenure sa nagiisang employer especially if yung nature ng work is relevant sa nominated occupation, although may pumipitik sa isip ko habang sinusulat ko ito regarding sa tenure na 5 yrs but say 6mos ron ay probationary. haha. ayun di ko sure pag gnun, kasi 6mos ng 5yrs tenure ko ay proby although right from the start ang nature ng work at duties ko ay same as now, except that mas complex ngayon.

Hi @lock_code2004 @johnvangie @danz1213 does it mean na even if you don't avail of the additional assessment, pwede ka parin mag claim ng another 10pts for the Educational Qualification, on top of the pts claimed for overseas employment?

@Xiaomau82 salamat sa reply! Medyo di match yung requirements ng Victoria State Sponsorship and ng ACS in that case. For my ACS assessment, I can only have a positive assessment if I have a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience to my nominated occupation since my college degree is not related. However, sa Victoria State Sponsorship, 5 years work experience lang ang minimum requirement for my nomination occupation.

@anne9 yes. based sa recollection ko, standard assessment is for recognition ng educational degree/attainment mo na related sa nominated occupation, while additional service is for recognition of your skilled experience/employment related to your nominated occupation.

as long as nameet mo yung minimum years required and you know your duties and role in that inclusive years ay closely related sa nominated occupation mo, pede mo iclam yung corresponding points nun. Although may tulong sa paggrant ng DIAC sa claimed points mo kung assessed at recognized ng EA yung skilled employment mo.

May nabasa na kasi ako sa ibang thread, I suppose standard assessment lang ginawa nya, then nagclaim sya ng 15points for work exp dahil 8years mahigit yung experience nya summing up his employment from multiple emloyers, unfortunately hindi counted ng DIAC yung experience nya sa isang employer, kaya ayun 10points lang ang binigay (5 years but less than 8 yrs) and because of that nagkulang points nya to meet 60, kaya refused ang visa nya.

Siguro kung nagavail siya ng addt'l service para iassess yung skilled emplyment nya, baka dun palang nalaman na nya na hindi tlga closely related yung isang employment nya naun and he/she would have not pursued the EOI stage.

Nung nagcheck ako ng ANZSCO, mas nagfit sa akin ang Software Engineer (261313).

Nacheck niyo na po yung details ng 261313? Baka lang makadagdag pa sa options niyo.

Pero kung less than 6 years ang experience, baka maassess as not suitable.

@joseflim, pareho po tayo ng situation; hindi din ako makapagapply for skills assessment sa ACS dahil short din ako sa work experience (<6 years). Kaya si Misis ang naging primary applicant dahil mas matagal siya sa IT. Tagasaliksik lamang ako hehe..

Sa tingin ko ang option na lang ay thru Employer Sponsorship. Kaso dapat highly specialized or unique ang IT skills para maconsider.

• those who have at least 1 year Australian work experience,
and / or at least 3 years Overseas work experience in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation.

Either or both of these services may be applied for if the
client wishes to claim the DIAC points.

master @lock_code2004, pashare naman ng matinding explanation kasi medyo na confuse ako dun sa same job in one company against dun sa at least 3 years Overseas work experience in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation.

@johnvangie hi Ma'am, sa understanding ko, hindi talaga required ang additional assessment but can be "of interest" para dun sa mga applicants na gustong manghingi ng opinion from EA regarding their work experience and I believe that having skilled employment assessed, may "tulong" factor yun sa paggrant ng points ng DIAC relevant sa claimed points natin. Although kasunod na statement nung quote mo above is ito:

Engineers Australia has been authorised by DIAC to
provide an opinion about an applicant’s skilled
employment claims as part of the skills assessment.
However, the decision to award points for skilled
employment remains with the DIAC case officer, who may
also need to review claims of relevant employment gained
subsequent to the formal assessment.

And since DIAC parin ang last say, and although may "tulong" if assessed ang skilled employment recognizing the years of exp, may possibility pa rin siguro na umiba ang ihip ng hangin at sumaliwa ang points na ibibigay ng DIAC sa relevant skilled experience . Ang dahilan nito I guess, is sa evidence pa rin magbabase ang DIAC, like COE, JD, CDR and magiging additional evidence lang yung result ng magiging additional assessment service ng EA kung sakali which is yung "tulong" factor na binanggit ko.

Meron na po ba from metro manila na naka secure ng test results para sa Health Requirements like yung Med Exam, X-Ray etc? Ask ko lang po sana kung pwede kahit saan ipagawa ang mga health tests like Xray, or are there DIAC accredited hospitals and clinics that we need to go to?

Kaya nila sinabi na minimum 3 yrs, kasi un ang minimum for earning points sa EOi.. So kung isa lang ang work mo at 2 yrs ka pa alng, no need to have additional assessment kasi wla ka rin naman makukuha na eoi pts for work exp..

But if you have several work exp, na pag total mo ay atleast 3, 5 or 8 yrs, then recommended na mag additional service..

It’s more of an assurance po. say for example sa mga may job title like Business Development Manager or any other job title na indi “Engineer”. Para sure ang awarding of points with DIBP nagrerequest sila ng additional assessment. Another instance po for example Doctorate degree ka and indi ka sure sa CEP ng school mo, and you wanted to claim points for having a Doctorate degree, pwede din po humingi ng additional assessment.

Indi talaga required ang additional assessment, and I know a few people na hindi nanghingi nito pero successful namn ung application.

@johnvangie at sa tulong na enlightenment rin ni sir @lock_code2004, hindi ko na talaga iaavail ang additional service since sa isang company ko lang nagain yung 5 yrs exp ko, working in a telco company and my nominated occ is telecom network engr. and malabo naman siguro icredit ang portion lang nung employment ko since same duties and responsibilities lang ang ginagawa ko since I started. cross finger
