Summary - State Sponsorship Requirements in prep for Visa 176

i applied for job code 263212 (ICT support Engineer) and got a suitable assessment from ACS. The only state accepting the said job code is Canberra.

I just read today that they are now closed and wont be accepting sponsorship application until July 1.

My problems now are these:

1. On July 1, is there a possibility that my job code wont be on their list of ACT occupations? or in CSOL?
2. If 263212 would still be on the list, is there any news that ACT will increase their sponsorship fee?
3. if i will be able to get an ACT sponsorship, is there an increase on the visa application fee? I am planning to apply visa for me, my partner and our 4 yr-old daughter.

no one would know if your occupation will still be part of the SOL and/or CSOL in the next financial yr. Just have to wait and hope for the best.

The fee will more likely increase as it has been the case every start of financial year. Most massive was this yr wherein they charge on a per head basis whereas the previous yr it was per family.

Another thing, I am an Architect, but I read that its better to apply for a lower entry level occupation, say Building Inspector or Draftsperson. Will it be in conflict if part of my documents will include my diploma and TOR showing I finished architecture and yet I am entering as a Draftsperson? TIA

Hi Guys,

I have a questions regarding requirements. ACS will require me to have 6 years experience in my work because my course is not related to the work I am planning to have myself assessed for. However, for Victoria State Sponsorship, they only require 5 years of experience. Which one comes first? ACS assessment or SS assessment? Also, is skill assessment still mandatory for state sponsorship visa?

@joseflim first step po is to get your skills assessed, which is sa ACS kung computing professional kayo. on top of the work experience na you are claiming points, is the 6 yrs work experience required by ACS. While the ACS is authorised to assess ICT skills assessments, the final decision in awarding points remains with the DIBP.

ok lang na u have a degree in Architecture tas magpapaassess ka as draftsperson as long as u can provide proofs na you are working as a draftsperson, kelangan consistent ang reference letters.

Hi po, ask ko lng if may case dito na less than 3 yrs na credit sa work experience ng ACS pero na approve sa VIC SS? My nakita ako sa post ni @penski516 na 2 yrs lng na credit sa kanya ng ACS pero na approve naman VIC SS nya, not sure lng kung nung time nya eh di pa nag rerequire VIC ng at least 3 yrs work exp...I messaged him pero ala pang reply so decided to ask here...

Also, incase po ba mag risk ako apply VIC SS now den before july 1 I changed my mind and decided to apply for SS in another state, possible po ba? I just need to update my EOI and select another state?

@penski516, medyo pareho po kami ng case ni @persephone30. Sa amin naman, 8 years and 9 months ang total experience. After ACS deducted 6 years, we only have 2 years and 9 months. Qualified kaya kami sa requirement ng VIC SS kung magaapply kami ngayon o kailangan muna namin hintayin na mabuo yung 3 years come Sept 2014 bago magapply for VIC SS? Salamat!

@altuser41 hi po..sabi po ni @penski516 eh 2 yrs lng na assess sa kanya ng ACS pero ni credit ng VIC ang iba nyang work experience. Nag apply na rin po ako sa VIC sana ma approve although slim chance sa side ko

Lalabas dyan yung job mo and then sa baba, tignan mo yung states na nag sponsor sa job mo. I think the admin regularly updates the list.

@firebar10 You can have your docs notarized through any lawyer sa Dubai. Although sa pagkakaalam ko, mahal daw services nila kaya my friend opted to send her docs sa Pinas.

SA updated the list twice yesterday, accdg to them some of the occupations have met their quota na. weird though. :-(

yup, i have a friend na mag aaply sana as ICT Buss Dev Mgr, kahapon open pa, tas today special conditions na. She called SA office to inquire, ayun nga reached quota na daw. :-(
