Hello, seeking for advise dahil praning mode nanaman dahil sa DIY 😅

Nag-lodge ako ng Visa 189 2months ago. Dun sa may skills assessment part ang nilagay kong details and file is yung Skills assessment result ko as MLT, kasi dun naka-indicate yung tertiary educ/work exp ko. (MLT is only eligible for 190, para maging 189-MLS you have to take the exam) Yung result kasi ng exam nakalagay lang don na successful ako, hindi na naka indicate yung work exp etcc.

Ngayon, nag file ako ng incorrect answer sa date of skilled assessment and reference number.

Huhu.

Only ACT and NSW follow what’s stated on the outcome letter. For other states as well as 189, we still claim points despite the fact ACS’ deductions this is based on the immigration policy that these years can be recongnised.

Hello - just wanted to check on this po, isn't contradicting from ACS statement on the letter from ACS titled Understanding the ACS result letter?

No….because this isn’t based on the immigration policy. Hence all but NSW & ACT will go by the policy and not the skills assessment outcome (as far employment experience is concerned).

Sorry if this has already been asked already.

Yung experience po ba na ilalagay within the last 10 years ay yung approved lang ng Skill Assessment? Kasi yung approved years po sa skill assessment started on March 1, 2015 which is 5.13y and only 2 companies. Pero ang actual na work experience ko ay nagstart pa po ng 2013 with 3 companies (within nominated occupation pa din).

For filling up EOI regarding experience:
    1. Approved lang ng skill assessment (5.13 years)
    2. All actual employment experience starting 2014 (10 years from application) since may reference naman ng skill assessment for the approved years.

    Thank you in advance!

Hi, I'm an ECE graduate(no license), 32 yrs old not married with the following work experience:
    1. 1 yr and 1 mo. as Piping Design Staff - Ship Building Company
    2. 9 mos. as Cadet Engineer then 5 yrs and 1 mo. as Instrumentation Shift Engineer - Cement Manufacturing.
    3. 1 yr and 8 mos. as Instrumentation/Electrical Shift Supervisor - Pulp and Paper

    My questions are,
    1. What visa should I apply for?
    2. Baka my mga instrumentation and control engineers dito, saan kayo nagpa assess, what code?
    3. Is there a good demand for I&C engineers in australia?

Only NSW and ACT follow the skills assessment recognised work experience but the rest, they go with the policy, we claim experience within the last 10 years for our clients….be very careful when doing this, make sure you’re not overclaiming.

Hello po - sorry follow up question. Does that mean you can also claim the deducted years when applying for 189?

As per policy, yes but be careful when doing this. Usually only MARA agents do this because they are familiar with the law and able to defend the claim. If DIY, one needs to have access to recent policies in case there’s a change in the regulations. See excerpt from policy:

If the skills assessing authority’s opinion would result in the applicant being awarded less points than the applicant claimed in their EOI, then decision makers should consider the information in ANZSCO and apply the more beneficial outcome in determining when the applicant was working at a skilled level.

While having regard to the opinion provided by skills assessing authorities, decision makers also need to be satisfied with the bona fides of the supporting documents presented in making their decision to award points.

The regulations require only that an applicant is employed in a nominated skilled occupation for a particular period of time. The provision does not require the applicant to have skills of a particular standard during that period of employment. The decision maker can consider whether the applicant is undertaking at least some of the duties prescribed for the position in ANZSCO, for example, if a client is claiming employment as a carpenter, the tasks they are undertaking are those of a carpenter.

No because I know what I’m doing :) but some agents don’t also do this and would just prefer to follow the outcome letter on the safe side.
