Hello Everyone. I just want to give my story about my GSM visa application and you can give me your thoughts and tips about my situation.

I'm an IT professional and filed my GSM visa last June2009. I had a migration agent that time. After almost 5 years, I only heard back about my visa application last Dec2013 asking for followup medical requirements. When I filed my visa last 2009, I was still single. Now, I'm already married and have a 2 year old son. My case officer is now actively working on my application as she is asking for follow up documents. So submitted Form22 mentioning I'm now married and with child. But I indicated there my son and husband are non-migrating applicants since I filed the visa as a single woman. Now just today, the case officer is asking for documents for my husband and son (passport, birth cert, etc) and another documents like proof of use of english language and employment details. These documents (other than of my son and husband) had already been submitted last June2009. These includes my IELTS result and extensive employment documents.

For me this has been a very frustrating application. Imagine 5 years of waiting and then going through the same processing of requirements which is very financially and time consuming. In addition, my migration agent had dropped his services since he didn't renew his license. That's why I'll be relying on forums and on my own research alone for my questions and inquiries. I'm thinking of just giving up on this application but nanghihinayang naman ako sa mga previous efforts at gastos ko.

    Hello again :)
Can anyone help me what specific document they require for this para alam ko kung ano yun hihingin ko sa school ko.

Below is an excerpt from an email of my C.O.
    =======================
    2. Offshore Educational Qualifications - language medium.
I am looking for this letter to determine whether I can award additional points for community language in order to meet the threshold score to meet the points requirement. This language is related to your education and not the IELTS examination.
    =======================

Sabi nya, bukod pa daw to sa IELTS exam ko and should be coming from my University.

Hindi po ako gumawa ng ganito pero sa mga nabasa ko... kukuha ka ng letter from your university na nagpapatunay na english and main laguage of instruction sa pagtuturo. It needs to be printed under your University's letterhead and should be signed by authorized school person.

    Mga mate,

Just received my VISA grant letter today. :D

But hindi ko pa napapasa yung SG CoC ko. Should I reply to the CO with the SG CoC once na makuha ko sa Monday (03MAR)?

    Please share your inputs. TIA
Forget it mate... Congratulations and move on! :)

Chances are your CO is no longer interested to handle your case again.
I emailed the CO and after 5 days nagreply sya na iemail ko daw ko sa kanya yung SG CoC ko in colored scan. Na email ko na sa kanya ngayon and case closed. :D

Thanks sa lahat ng mate na magaling magpayo dito.

Next step ko is to convert my PH driver's license to SG para tipid conversion sa AU.

    Good luck sa ating lahat.

    good morning,

may question lang po sa pag fill up ng EOI related sa Employment history:
nag trabaho po ako sa company XYZ from May 2004 to June 2009.
ACS deducted 4 years from my experience: "employment after May 2008 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level".

so sa EOI -- hahatiin ko itong experience ko in company XYZ sa dalawa.
    1. May 2004-May 2008 -- employment related to nominated occupation - answer: NO
    2. June 2008-June 2009 -- employment related to nominated occupation - answer: YES

    tama po ba?
    thanks in advance

@ava_garde06 are you claiming points ba for community language? If yes, then u need to take the translation test from NAATI. For example, claim mo ung Filipino language. Ung translation test is from english to filipino and fil to eng.
Yung letter naman from the university stating the medium of instruction is in english is for those na gustong maexempt sa pagtake ng IELTS an secondary applicants.

^@ava_garde06, hmm, I think the CO is looking for a letter from the school saying that Filipino is (also) a medium of instruction so you can get additional 5 points for community language. English isn't a community language. As per @lock_code2004, hindi pa po ata kayo covered nung NAATI requirement for credentialled community language.

@ava_garde06, hmm, I think the CO is looking for a letter from the school saying that Filipino is (also) a medium of instruction so you can get additional 5 points for community language. English isn't a community language. As per @lock_code2004, hindi pa po ata kayo covered nung NAATI requirement for credentialled community language.
    tama..
be careful kung anung isubmit mo, if you read clearly kung anung sbi ng CO mo..

"I am looking for this letter to determine whether I can award additional points for community language in order to meet the threshold score to meet the points requirement"

based on that statement, my interpretation is pag wala kang points for community language, you will not be able to meet the minimum points...

Hi All..I'm newbie po dito. Kindly me advise po guys regarding my situation.

nagsubmit po ako ng EOI & WA SS last Feb 17, until now wala pa invitation. Tapos young occupation ko is 233111 Chemical Engineer (EA certified na po), kaso closed na yong availability ng profession ko. Di rin pd sa SA SS kasi naka-reserve ang slot for those nag-aral within Australia.

I need to retake my ielts (sked ko Mar 15,2014) kasi meron ako 6.5 na score sa reading part to qualify sa 189..need ko pa ba magpa- VETASSESS for my other employment records na di related sa Chemical engineering? Meron ako previous teaching experience kasi.

@greatsoul there is also a chance na 4 yrs ideduct nila sayo depende kung iconsider ka nila na ICT Major closely related or not related to your work experience. If that happens, u will only have 2.5 yrs of skilled work.
