@kiteano Yes, pwedeng magsama ng dependent for employer sponsored visa, pero you have to declare them during the nomination process kahit di muna kasabay sa initial entry. Pwede rin namang kasabay kung walang nakikitang possible hitch sa process like medical which could delay the grant.

Skills assessment may be required for some occupations.

Hello. I need information sa processing ng OEC sa POEA. First time kasi ng employer ko to directly hire a Filipino worker and wala silang agency to handle the recruitment. Does anyone know what is actually required from them? All I know is kelangan endorsed ng POLO - Canberra yung employment contract. Not sure kung ano pa yung mga requirements. Please help.

@pineapoladrian @jayr.cruz I just did this last May/early June. Just a background, I just started work in a Hospital in QLD last April under TSS VISA and unfortunately, I had to go home asap. Below are the things you need for OEC.

    1. verified employment contract
    - this can be done in Canberra and application is ONLY in-person
*I scanned all my required documents (wc is below) and emailed it to a friend who
is living in Canberra. She just went to the embassy and process the whole thing
    for me.
    Requirements (non-negotiable):
    - Signed employment contract
    - copy of the worker's passport
    - copy of the worker's visa
    - copy of company's business registration (ask employer)
    - Insurance with Repatriation benefit incase of death
*Although I already have privare insurance (HCL) and medicare in AU, I need to get
this bec of the said Repatriation benefit. I applied for this:
    https://www.paramount.com.ph

    2. They were able to verify my employment contract on the same day my friend went to the embassy. They gave me a soft copy (online) and the original was sent via DHL to the Philippines.

    3. I went home (PH). Once I received the original verified employment contract, I went to POEA BM online to set an appointment to my local DFA (Davao). On the appointment date, they only collected my verified employment contract and updated my OWA/POEA records.

    4. After that, I can go online and print my OEC (since all records have been updated). If ever in the coming months, i will need to go home again, I can just go online and print OEC.

Hope this helps. I called the embassy before doing anything last May, you may call them as well through +61 2 6248 8563..

@LovellaEllen. Thank you ng madami. But what if you don't have anyone in AU that can help with the verification? As I understood you only processed the OEC nung bumalik ka as apparently the immigration will be asking for it, but what on your first departure going to AU?

@jayr.cruz When I arrived in AU, I went out as a tourist only. My husband is based in singapore so I just pretend to go to SG to visit my husband so I had to book a return flight. bale PH-SG-AU yung initial entry ko. if you're in PH, you could also do the right way which is going to OWWA/POEA and process OEC ahead before even leaving. Same requirement lang as stated above, the difference is verification will be done in PH..

@LovellaEllen. Hmm... Got an idea. haha. I might consider this option, actually I'm in Saudi now but plan to go to Pinas muna for a couple of weeks before flying to AU... I feel na sayang kasi kung maaubos lang time sa pag asikaso ng OEC. Thanks again!

@jayr.cruz if you can, just do what I did for the initial entry. Kasi, I know someone who did it the right way (bec umuwi din ng pinas), he had the worse possible experience, plus it took almost a month lahat2x kasi may seminar pa ata..

    @LovellaEllen

Thank you very much for the detailed information. ask ko lang if may initial requirements pa ba on the side of the employer? do they need to be accredited by POLO? are there specific pre-requisites that should be included in the contract?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but if you are going from the Philippines, the insurance can be bought in POEA right? Since ang verification is dito din sa Pinas.

@pineapoladrian I'm not sure if meron pa bang ibang requirement sa side ng Employer. When I called Embassy here in AU, they didn't mention about the company needed to be accredited by POLO. Embassy just asked for those documents listed on my post. For insurance, it's a private PH company so I'm not sure if you can buy it in POEA itself. Check the link I gave earlier for the insurance or if your in PH, I call up POEA and inquire.

@LovellaEllen Thanks again! Na alarm kasi employer ko sa list of requirements ni POEA regarding sa minimum contract. I'll check the link for the insurance. Meron daw sa tabi ng POEA and tinatanggap nmn daw but not sure if pwede ko talaga asahan yun in case anything bad happens. :D I would prefer pa rin if I can be sure of the legitimacy of the insurance provider. Thank you for the link!

@zrlv Base from checks and comments na din ng ibang members that yes you may come at a later time as long as it is withing the validity ng visa. We are planning to do the same in my case, ako muna then family after a couple of months.

If I may ask, gano katagal bago nagrant ung visa. In my case kasi kaka approve pa lang nomination last week, and lodge palang kahapon ng Visa Application.

@jayr.cruz thanks for the answer, sir.

    eto po timeline namin:
    Lodged May 13
    Nomination approved May 15
Medicals at Nationwide June 4 (natagalan pagpapa-medical namin due to other reasons)
    Visa granted June 11

Clarify ko lang po ulit, sorry di ko po kasi makita. Para daw kasi ma-activate yun visa, kelangan nasa AU na at nag-wowork si primary applicant within 90 days from the date the visa was granted. Hindi po applicable sa dependents yun 90-day period?

Also, follow up question: kelangan po ba ni hubby ng OEC and PDOS?

    @zrlv. Salamat din ng madami.

Sorry but I can answer regarding the 90-day period as I still have no personal experience about it. Hintay natin and hopefully may sumagot na iba. :-)

About OEC and PDOS, this is required from the Primary Applicant ng immigration natin (Pinas) when you depart and your destination is AU kasi ichecheck nila ung visa and since it is a work visa then it is a must that you are registered in POEA. Pero coming from another country hindi na kaya ung iba nag pupunta sa ibang place as tourist then direcho flight to AU (i.e. Manila -> Singapore -> Australia). This is their decision although not the proper one so kung may time naman ung hubby mo magayos then much better kasi eventually you'll need to show this later pagmagbakasyon kayo sa Pinas at balik na ng AU.

@zrlv confirm no need sabay kayo sa primary. For OEC, yes the primary needs it if galing pinas and if he/she will go out using the TSS VISA..

@pineapoladrian Kung kukuhaan nyo ng tourist visa yung parents mo, ibang application na yun. Pero hindi yata pwede isama sa nomination ang parents kasi hindi sila considered part of the family unit. @pineapoladrian Nomination cost for the employer is only for the main applicant, although dependents must be declared in the nomination form or via a subsequent declaration from the said employer. The employer may also pay for visa fees if that is part of the contract. However, be aware that the definition of a "member of family unit (MoFU)" does not include parents of the main applicant.

A person will be a MoFU of another person (the family head) if the person:

    1. is a spouse or de facto partner of the family head
    or
    2. is a child or step child of the family head or of a spouse or de facto partner of the family head (other than a child or step child who is engaged to be married or has a spouse or de facto partner) and:
    a. has not turned 18
    or
    b. has turned 18, but has not turned 23, and is dependent on the family head or on the spouse or de facto partner of the family head
    or
    c. has turned 23 and is under paragraph 1.05A(1)(b) dependent on the family head or on the spouse or de facto partner of the family head

    3. is a dependent child of a person who meets the conditions in paragraph 2.

guys would you know if kelangan talaga ng police clearance certificate from Australian Federal Police? i haven't been to Australia before but my employer is insisting that the PCC was asked by the case officers of their candidates in the past.

anyway, my nomination came in last Monday, June 24. we are scheduled for a medical exam tomorrow, June 27 at St. Lukes. will lodge the visa as soon as we have the results.

my employer said that they can waive the english proficiency requirement since they are an accredited business sponsor in Australia. they will be the one attaching the letter to the application. I didn't know that this was possible... :D hopefully maging okay na ang lahat. please pray for us. thanks! :)

@pineapoladrian Most employers do require AFP Clearance or at least the consent to get one prior to commencement of employment. However, you will be required a local address for AFP to send a copy of the clearance certification. Usually this takes around 2 weeks to process and arrive by mail. I would suggest you ask a relative or a friend for use of their address to use in the clearance application.

@jayr.cruz It took the whole day for us. In Metro Manila, dalawa lang ang panel physicians for Australian immigration which are, St. Luke's BGC and Nationwide Health Systems AUX Inc. in Makati. We went to St. Luke's because it was nearer to our home. Nasa 10th floor siya ng Medical Arts Building. We went there at 7:10 AM pero pang 11 na kami sa queue. First we filled out a form then you pay P7,050 per applicant. Once you have the receipt, go to the laboratory for the urinalysis. Next is X-ray then followed by the physical examination. May mga questions sila na paulit ulit like "have you been diagnosed with TB?", "have you had cancer", "have you had Hepa", etc. Around 11AM, the reception told us that we have to go back at 1:30PM for the immunization interview. There were repeated questions again during the interview and was asked if we already had our measles vaccine. There was a measles outbreak in the Philippines and Australian immigration is asking for the immunization certificate for vaccination when you arrive there. We paid P1,910 per applicant for the vaccine and additional P510 for the pregnancy test. Pregnant women can't take the vaccine so they are exempted. After this, they gave us the certificate to be hand carried during the travel to Australia. They also said that the lab results were clean and no further tests are needed. They will also send the results directly to the Australian Embassy and will probably take 3-5 days in processing.

So there you have it! Medical exam done in a day. I suggest you go there earlier and prepare the documents - referral letter containing the HAP ID, 3 photocopy of passport, 3 photos (passport size). Hope this helps. :)
