    Hi All,

    There seems to be a few threads regarding the 1 July, 2012 changes so I will just post it here. I think everyone is getting too nervous so I thought Id share the GOOD NEWS annouced by DIAC today regarding the NEW pass mark for General Skilled Migration which has been dropped.

    The current pass mark for points-tested skilled migrants who plan to come to Australia to work will be reduced by five points from July 1, 2012 - the same date the new SkillSelect register comes into effect.

    An announcement made today (June 15) by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has revealed that the pass mark will be lowered from 65 points to 60 in an effort to attract "a broader range of people with the skills and attributes needed in Australia".

    Whilst we endeavour to share as much info as possible in this forum, we still encourage you guys to get assessed by a registered migration agent to get a comprehensive analysis.

    Pero pataasan pa din d ba? I mean yes 60 points na nga ngayon pero uunahin pa din nila yung mataas sa 60 points? Saktong 60 points ako ngayon walang IELTS na band 7

    Take note na competitive process ang Skill Select. Mas mataas pa rin ang points ng mga onshore applicants na may Australian education and experience, etc.

    take note, meron ding "Occupation Ceiling" na isa sa mga criteria for invitation to apply..
    this will work in favor for those na konti lang ang kapareho ng skills..
    otherwise.. pataasan ng points talga ang labanan..

    The 60 point pass mark is a welcome change. Pero dahil pataasan pa rin ng points yan, kung eligible sa additional points (IELTS, State Sponsorship, Partner Points...), make use of it pa rin :)

    The pass mark for the new SkillSelect visa subclasses 189, 190 and 489 will be 60 points. Intending migrants will first need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) and be invited to make an application for these visas.

    A Department of Immigration and Citizenship spokesman said the change to the pass mark was in the context of the series of reforms to the skilled migration program undertaken by the Australian Government since 2008.

    “These reforms have ensured the skilled migration program is a responsive and demand driven program,” the spokesman said. “The cornerstone of this migration reform package will be the introduction of SkillSelect from July 1.”

    SkillSelect is a new electronic service for managing the skilled migration program. Intending migrants without an employer sponsor wanting to live and work in Australia will need to complete an online EOI, then based on claims of their skills and attributes, will be allocated a score against the points test. SkillSelect will rank intending migrant’s scores against other EOIs.

    The highest ranking migrants across a broad range of occupations may be invited to apply for a skilled visa.

    “Delivery of a balanced migration program requires careful management,” the spokesman said. “SkillSelect will provide greater control over who can apply for a skilled visa and when they can apply.”

    The previous pass mark was appropriate in the context of the skilled migration reforms, with a greater emphasis on employer-sponsored skilled migration and managing a growing pipeline of unsponsored skilled migration applications.

    The pass mark for existing general skilled migration subclasses 175, 176, 475, 487, 885 and 886 will remain at 65 points.

    The pass mark for the new SkillSelect visas will encourage a broader range of people with the skills and attributes needed in Australia to register their interest in migration.

    Hello there mga kabayan, Since binabaan nila ang pass mark points requirement sa 190 "Skilled/Sponsored", alin po ba ang mas magandang kuning visa pa rin, yung 190 or 176 sa case ko po kasi kailangan ko pa ring mag pa sponsor sa state/territory para maging mataas ang total points ko.? I'm hoping and praying na sana available pa sa CSOL ang telco tech. thanks. GOD Bless.

    din aaplyan ko and right now nag gagather na ko ng mga requirements for the assessment sa TRA and about to fill-up the form. Nabalitaan ko nga din na indemand ang kakisigan natin sa Oz :D kaya di na ko nag dalawang isip pa.. ask ko lang nag agent k p b? sariling sikap k n lang?

Plan ko sana kumuha ng agent, but nung nakita ko 'tong site, natuwa ako kasi madami akong natututunan, halos lahat nag tutulungan, nagdadamayan, kaya nakaka encourage din n mag apply.     Eto yung list ng mga booklets ni DIAC that you can download for free. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/booklets.htm. I think Booklet 5 yung ENS.
    Andito pa din po kami sa Republika ng Pilipinas. Hopefully, before 2013 ang IE namin. :)

    Same same pa rin naman, hindi pa ako pinapadala dun kaya basa basa lang muna ng immigration guidelines.

    Maraming good changes ang ENS guidelines ngayon a :)
