    Hi guys, we're off to Oz on 6th of Nov. Just wondering if 475 holders would bother registering with Centrelink? All of you are so lucky to be PRs that I don't find much info on temporary residents... thanks a lot for the answers!

    to answer your question, you don't need to go to centrelink.

    @sticktoexecute np! :) sydney ko work pero stay kami now sa narwee, about 40 min commute time to/from circular quay station via train. nakikitira lang kami muna with relatives, but we plan on looking here for apartment, mas mababa kasi rental price dito compared sa ibang suburb

    November 11,2012 - IELTS result
    December 14,2012 - Receive letter of offer
    December 26,2012 - Paid tuition fee and OSHC
    January 3,2013 - Receive COE
    January 4,2013 - Application lodge by agency to VIA
    January 8,2012 - Received acknowledgement from embassy that they received my documents and to undergo medical
    January 10,2012 - undergo medical exam at Nationwide
    January 16,2012 - Sent Medical result to embassy thru E-Health
    January 22,2012 - Visa Grant!

    @annie: are you on your own? kasi i have a vacant room in the flat that hubby/ me are not using.. we live in the eastern suburb..coogee to be exact. it's 1 ride to circular quay via bus 376/ 377/ x77 for about 20 mins. my hubby is in melbourne for studies so basically it is just me at the moment but he will be back end of the year.

    @icebreaker1928 No offense intended bro, kami rin naman dami ring pinuhunan, only that to get granted earlier we had to choose the 475 path. Kanya kanyang swerte kumbaga. I just hope that I could find a teaching job there as soon as possible. Good luck to all of us.

    @hotshot Thank you! Andito pa kami sa Pinas. We were given until end of Apr 2013 for the initial entry. Plano namin mauna si husband para di masyadong malaking gastos. hopefully makakuha sya ng work bago kami sumunod ng daughter ko. Sa Adelaide po kayo?

"based on my opinion", mas maganda po ang employment opportunities dito sa Australia compared sa US. dati natatakot pa ako kasi naexperience ko maghanap ng work sa US. dito lagi kang may response tapos d k naman papabayaan ni Lord. Pde k rin magpart time and work legally.

    @hotshot Wala pa sya dito pero chinichika ko yung mga recruiter. May isa n nga n tumwag s kanya pero d p nmin alam pnu ang progress. Nung wala pa ako dto, nagaapply din ako sa seek. Puro rejection ntatanggap ko kaya rin ako natakot pumunta dto. Make sure lang po n pinagisipan mabuti ang cv and cover letter. I address po sila sa letter. Grammar, at iba pang details. Karapatan ksi nilang maging nitpicky. Kung wala s mga recruiter ang pumansin. Prioritise po ung private advertiser kc "sa tingin ko" sila yung masmatyaga at mas may chance k s knila

    hi guys, andito na pala ako melbourne :)

    TFN - nag apply na ako online, will take 28 days before i get one (as per the email)
    MEdicare - may number na ako, pero walang ID. sinamahan ako ng tita ko kanina sa mall na may branch ng medicare.
    Bank Account - nagtayo na ako ng online account sa NAB, makukuha ko daw yung starter pack by next week.

    Work - kahapon at ngayon, buong araw na akong nag aapply.

    ok lang pala di maligo dito, kasi malamig naman eh. di bumabaho mga damit ko, kaya di pa ako nagpapalit. LOL
