    ang pagkakaalam ko income lang ang taxable. so pag nagpadala ka ng money to Au e hindi taxable yun.. pero syempre magkakaroon ng interst yung pera mo sa AU bank.. yun ang taxable..

    hello po mga kabayan! glad I found this site! Dami ko nalaman n important details sa paglipat namin sa Oz. We just recently received our 189 PR visa (external audit) (with husband and 1 YO son). Our initial entry date will be on March 2016.

    Plano po namin na si husband ko ang magstay at kmi ng baby ko maginitial entry lang. Tanong ko lang po ok lang ba or advisable ba na iregister na ang baby namin sa Centrelink sa pag initial entry pa lang namin para maclaim na namin ang mga benefits na available pra sa mga family with kids (rent allowance etc.) ska para maclaim na sya as dependent ng hubby ko for tax purposes since sya na muna magwork? I mean kahit c baby namin hindi pa muna sya magstay sa oz?

    centrelink says it takes up to 16weeks.
    In my case, 9 weeks.
    Pero yun iba 1 month lang.

    We'll be arriving in Sydney this Sept 28 and temporarily staying sa family friend namin sa Stanhope Gardens. Composed of 5 members kami and iniisip namin na makakuha agad ng house for all of us.
    Meron po ba dito na nakakuha ng house for rent even without employment contract. I learned na required daw ito during rental applications. Do kindly share your experiences and how did u handle it? Reason of asking this kasi major reqmt ang tenancy agreement or contract pag nag-apply ng secondary school for our kids. Thank you in advance!

    TFN - dumating sa akin after 6 working days
    Medicare - upon application mo meron ka na agad temporary id na nakaprint lang, yung ID dumating sa akin after 10 working days
    Centrelink - kung register lang at wala naman iclaim, online lang magregister. di din ganun ka important magregister agad kung wala iclaim.

    yung registration kaya ng 1 day lahat yan.

    after Canberra Initial Entry, stayed outside Au muna. few weeks after, received an email about "survey", then after few weeks, another survey. Then on the 8th month, hindi na email, Mail "survey" na talaga to a Canberra address. Any implication nito sa 2 years residency requirement ko sa South Australia?

    wala naman minimum savings, kadalasan payslip lang. ang importante lang nman is ikaw yung pinaka ok na mag rent sa tingin ng may-ari, kasi kadalasan maraming nagapply for tenancy sa isang property, lalo na magandang locations and good deal. Pero kapag wala siguro masyado kakumpetensya, di ganun kahirap requirements, case to case basis.

    Sir @vhoythoy, tanong lang po. Wala po kasi akong makitang post if required maghanap ng family doctor/GP upon arrival sa Australia, para maregister kami as their patient/client? Or pupunta lang po ba sa GP kapag gusto mo magpacheck-up?

    Punta ka nalang kung saan malapit sa place mo at pakita mo lang medicare card. Tawag ka pala muna bago ka pumunta kasi halos lahat dito eh by appointment. Ung iba bulk billing wala kang babayaran, meron nman babayaran mo tapos ma reimburse mo yung 50%. Kung may private health insurance ka, mas ok. May mga hindi kasi covered ang public health.

    Private health insurance only covers cost if you are admitted to the hospital - doctor fee are not included here kaya meron out of pocket... :)

    And reimbursement is not always 50% - it can be less...

    Kaya bili vitamins, exercise and eat healthy food para di magkasakit.

    Ilang weeks po normally before masend through mail yung mga Medicare and Centrelink docs/cards?

    When I arrive, I will be staying in a temporary accomodation for 2 wks and I was wondering kung pwede kong gamitin yung address na yun and can expect the mails to be delivered while I'm there within that time...

    we'll be arriving in Syd late April..aside from Centrelink, Medicare, TFN, and bank account, we are to scout for my son's school as well..for migrants with school kids, ano po yung basic requirements na hiningi ng school for migrants/transferees? may assessment exams pa ba sila before enrolment? my son is currently in 2nd grade..thanks po sa makakapagshare :)
