@engineer20 depends on how long are you staying and the address where your card will be delivered.
I think what matters is on the address where it will be delivered. Kung kakilala mo kung saan ito ipapadala eh okey lang siguro but if you're staying in a hotel eh mas advisable na gawin mo na lang ito when you're staying for good.

@C_hiLL may kakilala naman na pwede gamitin ang address for registration. ang inaalala ko lang ay kung may guidelines ba halimbawa sa centrelink o medicare na dapat permanently staying ka na sa oz upon registration. baka kasi may problema pag after registration ay mawawala sa oz ng ilang buwan or taon. also for TFN, iniisip ko kung required na ba magfile ng tax return once meron ka na nito kahit wala ka sa oz.

nag apply kami both ni hubby. i believe all residents above 18 need this. walapo ata exempted sa tax u can also check more details here https://www.ato.gov.au/

applied TFN online lng, visited bank and applied medicare narin sa initial entry namin ni baby last week. c hubby naiwan dun sunod kami end of d year for good

if you are getting any form of income then yes kailangan magfile ng tax...

ask ko lng sana about sa prepaid phone/sim upon arriving at oz..10 days lng kmi mag initial entry..i've checked online and may kiosks like optus, vodafone, and telstra offering prepaid plans..may masuggest ba kayo na budget friendly plan? TIA!

wat i read sa ibang thread is f walakapa dun no need to declare ur overseas income thus no need to file income tax return. u can also chek this for more info

@jkk32w ask ko paano case ng husband mo na nasa oz currently. kailangan ba nya magfile ng tax return? kung oo, hindi ba ito katulad sa pinas na isang form lang ang ginagamit ng couple? pag ganun kasi madedeclare na overseas income di ba? or dapat lang ideclare na overseas income ay starting lang kelan nagrant ang PR?

pasensya na maraming tanong kasi pinaplano na mga pwedeng gawin sa weeklong initial entry trip. parang mas gusto ko pa tuloy na magapply ng TFN sa big move na lang. sana may mga cpa sa oz na pwede tumulong na iclear ito.

@furano u can apply for tfn online, I just did it yesterday and they will mail to my address my tfn within 28 days coz they will still contact the DIBP regarding my visa status. Just arrived in Australia April 7. Need also to open a bank account it's very important if your planning to work here.

so sorry ngaun lg ako nakapag back read ulit sa mga posts. sobrang busy
ung husband ko oo need nia mag file kc may income na sia. ung pinagawa ng employer nia was nag fill up sia ng tax income form then ung company na nag "take care" dko alam anong klaseng "take care" haha. so far sa dlawang sweldo nia wlapa nmn sia tax. sabi ng frends namin ung first 18k na sweldo mo sa au is not taxable. so uncguro heheh. bsta importante nag pass na sia nung form sabi dw ng HR sila na dw mag submit. but sabi nmn ng frends namin at d end of d year mag file kaparin ng annula income tax and ul get a refund if ung total deductions mo n a year is greater than what should be levied on u based on ur income/household income/expenses..etc.

Just go to any centrelink offices @se29m; as always, you probably need to bring in 100pts of identification and the likes - as to exact details I don't know as we don't register when we arrive 3 years back...

ok ito if may anak ka but if wala i don't think they can help that much especially if you are still a new migrant (less than 2 yrs in Australia).

Hi! Question po sa mga experts dyan especially ung nag initial entry lang then bumalik to another country for work. Ano ano yung ginawa niyo on your initial entry?
1.) DO I need to file TFN?
- dapat ba wag muna ako kumuha para not required to submit ITR sa end ng year? kasi global taxation si AU baka may admin stuff pako gawin for ITR medj hassle If I'm still in another country.
- If magapply ako ng TFN sa mismong big move na (a year or sona fter initial entry), mas mahirap nabang kumuha ng TFN? Higher cost?

2.) Bank Account
-Need ko naba magopen ng account kahit i'll be leaving AU agad?
-If mag open ako sa big move, mahirap naba requirements and mas mahal?

3.) Medicare and Centrelink
-Do I need to do this rightwaway? I'm single so I'm not sure if I still need to register for both of this kahit na initial entry palang.

Based sa experience, hindi ako kumuha agad ng TFN on my initial entry last March. Though nasa Oz ka na on your initial entry, TFN will be mailed to your mailing address here in Oz. In my experience, it took 11 days before ko natanggap yung TFN.

if I'm not mistaken pwede ka magopen online ng Australian Bank account kahit wala ka pa sa Oz, then you need to inform the bank once nagmove ka na dito for your atm/debit card. Based sa experience with CAN, I opened an account online then atm/debit card was sent after 7 days with instruction on how to activate the card.

I only enrolled for Medicare and received my Medicare card after 8 business days. If you'll stay here in Oz for less than 2 wks I would suggest sa big move ka na lang magregister sa Medicare
