May nabasa din ako article na may nagreklamo na ang tanong lang daw sa poea sa kanya ay kung gagastos ba employer nya mag repatriate ng mortal remains nya. Na publish daw yung reklamo na yun sa isang newspaper at agad inaksyonan ni VP Binay. Para bang ang concern lang ng poea ay hindi ang Philippine government ang gagastos in case mamatay ang OFW. Ang hindi lang nila alam ay ang insurance naman yung gagastos sa repat kaya hindi na sana yun kelangan sa contract dahil requirement naman talaga ng DIAC yung health insurance from Australia na standard na my repat clause. May nabasa rin nga ako yung iba bumibili pa ng repat insurance dito sa Pinas para yun yung ibigay sa POEA kung ayaw na nila ipapirma pa yung employer dun sa compliance form.

Also, laws are always changing kaya kung ano yung requirement 2 or 3 years ago does not mean yun pa rin ang requirement ngayon. So hopefully yung mga bagong nakakuha ng kanilang 457 visa at poea ay mag share kung ano dinaanan nila. I believe lahat ng sinabi ni jaydeetizon ay totoo sa recent regulations kasi Nov 2011 lang naman sila nagprocess ng poea at yun din ang najuha ko sa research ko like IELTS is not mandatory para sa lahat dahil may mga exemptions although discretion pa rin ng CO kung accept nya yung CEMI or kung hihingi talaga sya ng IELTS, yung contract based sa email natanggap ko hindi kelangan authenticated sa Phil. Embassy kung ang work mo ay skilled or professional. Ang mandatory health insurance dapat approved ng DIAC, may mga companies sa OZ na meron talaga plans for the 457. Depende na sa employer nyo kung sila ang bibili or kung ikaw basta kelangan yun before ma grant ang visa.

The good things in my IELTS nung nagapply ako ng PR kahit invalid na ng mahigit isang buwan di na ako pina-kuha ulit ng exam.
Mandatory talaga ang private health insurance kasama dapat sa employment package ng 457 visa.

Tanong ko lang po sana kung ilang weeks o months po ang standard processing time pra maapproved ang 457 visa after lodgement po?
e2 timeline ko;
feb.03, 2012 - documents lodge and advise for medical
feb.06, 2012 - medical at st. luke clinics
feb.08, 2012 - medical recieved and finalised
after po nyan wala na ako updates...same case kami ng kasama ko pero feb.09, 2012 visa grant na po agad sya...
please enlighten naman po my worries....advise naman po jan....

My 457 visa is already approved. I just checked today.
Timeline:
10/02/12 - Lodged application
20/02/12 - Chest X-ray in St. Luke's
27/02/12 - Health requirements finalised
28/02/12 - Application approved
Pwede na kong magresign sa current work ko. Thank God.

Bale wala pa ang visa ko 8th week na! bale pina amend ng DIAC yung contract ko dahil daw hindi tugma doon sa salary standard ng Australia. Buti naman dahil tinaasan ng kaunti ang sahod, pero panibagong lodge na naman ulit... pero sana this time mejo madali na ng konte...goodluck saatin!

as of now wala pa din updates sa visa ko......
feb3 pa nailodge at feb8 na finalised med ko.....
until now wla pagbabago sa status ng visa application ko....

How long does it take to process a 457 visa application?
The processsing time varies greatly from case to case depending on personal circumstances.
We would consider 6 to 12 weeks to be a realistic estimate of how long the visa takes to process for overseas applicants.
