Hi! I just want to share my experience as a 1st time taker ng PTE academic exam.

Makati ACE testing center.
Venue: tahimik naman yung environment, hindi dinig yung mga sasakyan sa labas unless yung mga naka bigbike ang dadaan. Saka di mo na din yon mapapansin kasi dapat mong mag focus sa exam. In my case hindi naman masyadong kalakasan magsalita yung mga kasama ko sa room. Kung marinig man, hindi sya distracting. Nasa 8 examinees siguro kami sa room na sabay sabay nagstart. Also, 30mins before the exam dapat nandun ka na sa venue. Mababait at approachable yung mga staff. Nakapag exam kami ng walang mask.

Headset and microphone: Andrea headset yung gamit nila. Noise cancelling talaga. Maganda naman yung output hindi dinig yung mga katabi mo. Kaso nasanay ata ako sa logitech H110 (ito yung ginamit ko na pang practice na headset para sa laptop, kasi pag ordinary earphones lang mababa magbigay ng result si apeuni) si logitech kasi parang mas crisp yung output nya. Pero si Andrea okay naman. Nakailang test ako sa mic, kung ano-anong position pero halos pareho lang din, parang medyo kulob yung output. Overall, itama lang yung positioning para hindi madinig ng mic yung hangin pag nagsasalita ka

Speaking - ang technique ko dito ay to sound like a news anchor. Yung sakto lang, wag naman OA. Natural na po sakin yung malakas ang bunga- magsalita at ng mabilis. Basta practice lang everyday sa kung saan ka maging comfortable na tone/speed. Use jimmyssem's background noise pag nag ppractice ka din. Yung naririnig ko sa likod ko template din oppa ang gamit.

RA - mga nasa 2-3sentences yung babasahin. Yung mga words na medyo nabubulol ako inuulit-ulit ko para pag on na yung timer, alam ko na sya. Pwede nyo na isulat yung template nyo para sa DI,RL sa sheet dito habang prep time. Dun sa pang 5th question ni-loose ko na sa takip yung pen para in case na mag RS agad madali makuha para magsulat.

RS - I write every first letter of each word. Di ko man masulat yung buong sentence, eh at least half. Remember, pronun at fluency ang mas importante dito. Meron nga akong 2 questions na parang first 2words lang natandaan ko tas language language nalang nasabi ko sa taranta.

DI & RL - jimmyssem and anusha

SWT - 2 sentences connected with ", and"

WE - jimmyssem. Practice lang ng practice hanggang sa makuha mo yung tamang words na if-fit mo sa template. Feeling ko may mga di ako napansin na maling spelling dito kaya wag nyo ko gayahin hehe

FIB - merong isa na lumabas from apeuni. Practice a LOT. Need mo talaga mag focus dito, meron akong part na sabi ko "Lord, ilapit mo yung mouse cursor sa tamang sagot please" hahaha

RO - kung ano yung unang pumasok sa isip ko yun na agad, di ako masyadong nagtagal kasi may FIB pa ulit na sunod.

Listening - Multiple Choice, pinakinggan ko naman mabuti pero feeling ko dito halos yung mali ko. Wala siguro ako naitama haha. Merong part dun na ang hina ng audio pwede nyo naman imax yung volume pag mahina kasi hindi pare-pareho yung volume ng bawat audio kaya siguro na-bonak na ko dito.

FIB-L - click mo na agad yung textbox sa 1st question para mag ttype ka nalang, tapos yung mouse cursor mo place mo na sa next textbox para after mo magsagot cclick mo nalang then repeat.

WFD - saktuhan lang yung haba ng sentence. Practice typing fast. Take note pag plural at kung past tense ang sinabi. Practice typing fast!

Hindi man kasing taas ng scores ng iba na 90 sa lahat, I'm very happy with my result for my first try. Basta superior! Pinaka main na reviewer ko is apeuni and jimmy's template. I think worth it naman yung pag sub sa apeuni. Sulitin ang mock test at ang bayad!

Ngayon lang ulit ako nakabalik sa discussion na to. Pero gusto ko lang magthank you sa lahat ng tips na nakuha ko dito. Laking tulong nung nagtake ako 2x ng PTE sa UAE. Though proficient lang tlga kinaya ng utak ko. 😅😅
Big help pa rin talaga mga techniques and templates na nakuha ko dito. Good luck sating lahat. God bless us all!!!!

Hindi po, feeling ko kasi okay naman yung napakinggan ko. Feeling ko lang 😅

I just want to share you guys my experience in retaking this PTE exam.
kapag talagang para sayo, para sayo. Maging against all odds man yun sitwasyon.

This was my 3rd attempt in taking this exam. 1st one, nahatak ako ng speaking because of repeat sentence, and I didn't use template for DI and RL. My highest score here is writing, 88. In my 2nd attempt, I was so confident. I finally got 90 in speaking and 79+ in all other parts, except writing. I think, I became complacent kasi nga yun yung highest ko ng first exam, and hindi na ko nagfocus on practice sa writing. Also, I had 2 essays that time, and only 2 WFD.

Finally, the third attempt. After 2 weeks of taking my 2nd attempt, I took my exam, para fresh pa yung nareview and valid pa ung APEuni subscription hahaha. I would say, I am well prepared. I didn't book my exam, until in-announce sa office na wala kaming pasok ng friday because it is holiday (here in UAE). So I took it as a sign na magbook ng exam on Saturday because, I have a whole Friday to review. On that Friday, I took 4 mock test sa APEUNI, and in all that mock tests, I scored superior, with 81 being lowest in speaking. So I was really confident that I can make it on my actual Exam.

Come saturday, my exam was 4:45 pm. We travelled and reach the metro station at 4:20. Normally, from the metro station to the exam center, you can get a taxi and the trip is just maximum 10 mins. But, I don't know why everything is against us. In short, walang taxi and at 4:45, my husband kept on calling the center, no one is answering, and that tinakbo nlang namin for 15 mins ung center. that was more than 2km from the metro station. and we ran, but sa sobrang wala n kong pagasa kasi sumasabay pa na lahat ng stop light for pedestrian, nag rered, and we have to wait. In my mind, I know na di na ko tatanggapin sa exam center, but since my husband didn't give up (sinamahn nya lang ako pero nauuna syang tumakbo, pra tumakbo din ako), I just followed him and keep on running. then we reached the center by 5:05 to 5:10. The exam already started. Feeling ko naawa nlng sakin ung attendant, kasi pulang pula na ko sa sobrang init, pawis, uhaw ang pagod. binigyan nya ko ng water, and ask for may passport. By the time na nag enter ako sa exam room, reading na sila. OMG!

4 times, the attendant called me out na hinaan ung boses ko sa speaking, kasi nagrereading na nga ung iba. So na defocus ako sa speaking kasi na conscious na ko sa boses ko. And then it follows, hanggang mag listening, defocus ako. WALANG AC. Tapos n ung reading part, ung pawis ko sa leeg tumutulo padin, since galing ako sa takbo.

After the exam, I cried. I know i am well prepared, but i know na hindi ako papasa dahil andmi kong disturbance, distractions and pinagdaanan. Until, I received my exam result 1 hour later. I can't stop crying cause i finally made it. Kahit andmi kong naging issue hahahaha.

What I learned is that kung para sayo talga, ibibigay sayo. Everything has the right time.

focus on these BIG 4 sections
1. Read aloud - for S & R
2. Repeat sentence - for S & L
3. WFD - for W & L
4. FIB (drop down & drag) - R & L

SPEAKING - I really really really didn't expect na maka 90 sa speaking. Since dito talga ako sobrang distracted due to 4 call outs dahil nga speaking ako, sila reading na. so I should lower my voice. Now, I understand na content doesn't matter in speaking, but fluency and pronunciation.

RA: out of 8 questions, may 3 po ako dito na continuous fluency, pero wrong pronounciation (dahil lumilipad na talga ung utak ko). Meron din po ako dito continuous fluency pero, inulit ko po ung na mispronounced words ko.

Yung technique ko po dito na nagwowork din sa APEUNI ( I mostly score 86-89):
Make this letter sound obvious and clear, study also shadowing:
T & TH: (like Temperature, wriTer, rusT ; eiTHer, THermal) etc.
S for plural: (like riskS, diskS)
ED for past tense: ( like askED, but read as askD; reTurnED, read as reTurnD)
and the obvious, like, V,B, F,P, etc.

RS: out of 13 questions, may 4-5 po ako dito na nag mumble, 50-60 words lang narepeat ko, pero nagfiller po ako ng kung ano nalng naisip ko. My strategy is pipikit lang to understand the sentence, and repeat it on my own, focusing on the Subject, Verb and adjective na binanggit. tapos yung preposition kahit mali mali na hahhaha

DI & RL: jimmyssem template is still working. but instead of keywords, phrases po ung sinasabi ko para mas may thought and fluent.

ASQ - i missed 3 questions here.

WRITING: mejo confident ako kasi nakuha ko lahat ng WFD

Essay: I used the template I read here. (attached image)

SWT: (sentence 1), and (sentence 2), which means that (sentence 3), so (sentence 4)

SST: I take down phrases not keywords:

The speaker talked about (topic). She/He mentioned that (phrase 1). She/He also said that (phrase 2). She/He cited that (phrase 3). She/He concluded that (phrase 4)

WFD: 3 days before the exam, I listened to the WFD prediction in youtube. I only got 2 WFD. the first one is easy. the second one is long, good thing, I heard it multiple times in WFD prediction in youtube, that's why I kinda memorize it.

READING: So lucky that I got easy questions. Good thing, all questions are new to me. It didn't appear from APEUNI. kaya, di ako nagooverthink sa tamang sagot. My technique here is when answering FIB, read the sentence before and after nung question. It gives a cue kung anong tamang word lalo na kung synonyms lahat.

May mga question na ang choices is kung have tried, tried, tries, trying. Ang tip ko dito is to check the paragraph kung anong tenses ng verb ang gingamit sa ibang Verb. Kung may Have, had ba or naka present tense or past tense, or may -ing ba.

RO - practice lang, but do not stress yourself on this. focus on the Big 4's.

MQ & SQ - i think mababa ako dito, kasi sa skills profile ko mababa ako sa single skills comprehension.

LISTENING: focus on WFD, then you will be all good sa listening and writing as well.

Nagkamali nga ako ng napuntahan kasi akala ko MISNet sa Antel yun pala sa Chatham Building at 14th flr. Walking distance lang naman sila.

Very friendly staff and may partition bawat seats. Hindi mo maririnig ibang nagtatake. 530pm and schedule ko pero ininform nila ako ahead na pwede magtake as early as 130PM. I asked ano ung slot na konti lang kasabay kaya nagtake nako agad ng 130PM dahil 3 lang kami nun sa room.

Tahimik yung place and spacious desk. Noise cancelling headphones and make sure to test audio and mic. Medyo malakas kasi para sakin ung audio kaya sinet ko lagi sa lowest.

Be natural lang sa pagsspeak hindi nmn kailangan may accent. I got the results same day mga 6PM. Nagulat nga ako ang bilos kasi sabi sakin mga 5 business days pa

Nag-text sila ng morning tapos tinawagan ko yung number (0920-9571080 MISNet). Hindi ako naka-mask ng pumunta sa test center. Yung ibang examinees rin hindi na naka-mask.

530 PM kasi talaga schedule ko nag request ako ng 1:30PM slot. Nakarating nako sa MISNet ng 1:33PM pero tumawag naman ako ahead na sabi ko kung pwede ako ihabol. Pumayag naman sila and advantage rin kase tapos na sa reading part mga kasabay ko. Nasa writing na sila habang ako nagsstart palang ng reading. Then mga 15 mins sa biometrics and short orientation. I officially started the exam at 1:50 PM.
Kaya, If ever may problems or malalate kayo I would suggest tumawag agad

Hindi pwede. Inaask sa EOI ang PTE reference number, so di mo masusubmit yun pag wala ka pa PTE

Hi may question lang po ako sa PTE. sa RS kung dapat ba mag start at the beginning of 1s during the recording or we can start after 2s to recall our memory?

As per rule po, pag wala na detect na sagot within 3 seconds ay automatic na lilipat sa next question.

Venue: tahimik naman yung environment, hindi dinig yung mga sasakyan sa labas unless yung mga naka bigbike ang dadaan. Saka di mo na din yon mapapansin kasi dapat mong mag focus sa exam. In my case hindi naman masyadong kalakasan magsalita yung mga kasama ko sa room. Kung marinig man, hindi sya distracting. Nasa 8 examinees siguro kami sa room na sabay sabay nagstart. Also, 30mins before the exam dapat nandun ka na sa venue. Mababait at approachable yung mga staff. Nakapag exam kami ng walang mask.

Kaso nasanay ata ako sa logitech H110 (ito yung ginamit ko na pang practice na headset para sa laptop, kasi pag ordinary earphones lang mababa magbigay ng result si apeuni) si logitech kasi parang mas crisp yung output nya. Pero si Andrea okay naman. Nakailang test ako sa mic, kung ano-anong position pero halos pareho lang din, parang medyo kulob yung output. Overall, itama lang yung positioning para hindi madinig ng mic yung hangin pag nagsasalita ka

Speaking - ang technique ko dito ay to sound like a news anchor. Yung sakto lang, wag naman OA. Natural na po sakin yung malakas ang bunga- magsalita at ng mabilis. Basta practice lang everyday sa kung saan ka maging comfortable na tone/speed. Use jimmyssem's background noise pag nag ppractice ka din. Yung naririnig ko sa likod ko template din oppa ang gamit.

RA - mga nasa 2-3sentences yung babasahin. Yung mga words na medyo nabubulol ako inuulit-ulit ko para pag on na yung timer, alam ko na sya. Pwede nyo na isulat yung template nyo para sa DI,RL sa sheet dito habang prep time. Dun sa pang 5th question ni-loose ko na sa takip yung pen para in case na mag RS agad madali makuha para magsulat.

RS - I write every first letter of each word. Di ko man masulat yung buong sentence, eh at least half. Remember, pronun at fluency ang mas importante dito. Meron nga akong 2 questions na parang first 2words lang natandaan ko tas language language nalang nasabi ko sa taranta.

DI & RL - jimmyssem and anusha

WE - jimmyssem. Practice lang ng practice hanggang sa makuha mo yung tamang words na if-fit mo sa template. Feeling ko may mga di ako napansin na maling spelling dito kaya wag nyo ko gayahin hehe

FIB - merong isa na lumabas from apeuni. Practice a LOT. Need mo talaga mag focus dito, meron akong part na sabi ko "Lord, ilapit mo yung mouse cursor sa tamang sagot please" hahaha

RO - kung ano yung unang pumasok sa isip ko yun na agad, di ako masyadong nagtagal kasi may FIB pa ulit na sunod.

Listening - Multiple Choice, pinakinggan ko naman mabuti pero feeling ko dito halos yung mali ko. Wala siguro ako naitama haha. Merong part dun na ang hina ng audio pwede nyo naman imax yung volume pag mahina kasi hindi pare-pareho yung volume ng bawat audio kaya siguro na-bonak na ko dito.

FIB-L - click mo na agad yung textbox sa 1st question para mag ttype ka nalang, tapos yung mouse cursor mo place mo na sa next textbox para after mo magsagot cclick mo nalang then repeat.

WFD - saktuhan lang yung haba ng sentence. Practice typing fast. Take note pag plural at kung past tense ang sinabi. Practice typing fast!

Hindi man kasing taas ng scores ng iba na 90 sa lahat, I'm very happy with my result for my first try. Basta superior! Pinaka main na reviewer ko is apeuni and jimmy's template. I think worth it naman yung pag sub sa apeuni. Sulitin ang mock test at ang bayad!

Hi, this is very insightful po. ask ko lang po kung marami ba test taker pag weekend sa ACE. Ask ko din po kung working pa din ba yung template ni jimmysen sa DI saka RL?

Di ko po sure kung weekends, Tuesday po ako nag exam. Pero yung room parang nasa 8-10(?) yung pwedeng mga exam. Jimmysem po lahat ginamit ko last sept 26 po ako nag exam. Hindi ko din perfect yung RS pero sa tingin ko nabawi naman sa DI, RL, RA sa speaking 😊

Yes may mga ganyang kahabang questions based from my experience. Pwede naman po kayo mag skip ng words as long as intact ang fluency and hindi masyado mag stutter.

Hi po, for write from dictation advisable pa rin po ba to duplicate a word if not sure ka sa form, for ex. nilagay ko parehas yung singular and plural form ng word?
