    In October, two invitation rounds will be held for skilled independent and skilled regional provisional visa subclasses covering a total of 2000 persons. These rounds will be on 1 October and 15 October 2012.

    The table below lists the maximum number of invitations that will be issued in each round, by visa subclass.

    Oct 1:
    900 invites for Skilled - Independent (subclass 189)
    100 invites forSkilled - Regional Provisional (subclass 489)

    you chance will depend on several factors...
    - skill is in SOL- yes ECE is in SOL... check SOL here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/
    - age - mas bata mas malaki ang points
    - work experience - mas maraming work experience mas okay
    - IELTS - mas mataas mas malaki ang points..

    please start here to estimate your points.. if you have =/>60 pts un po ang pass mark... pero mas mataas ang total points mas mabilis ma invite for visa application...

    you may start by reading this webpage: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/; afterwards, check mo on how many points you can potentially claim.

    60 is the cut-off in order for you to get considered for a visa application once you have submitted your EOI.

    2) skills assessment - depende kung anung inonominate mong skills
    3) EOI - dito ka palang mag lodge after mo makuha ang result mo ng step 1 and 2.

    @longgee sir umpisahan niyo muna yung mga nabanggit na requirements bago kayo magpasa ng EoI....Posible kasi kayo ma-blacklist ng system kung nagdeclare kayo ng EoI tapos wala pala kayo nung mga requirements na hinihingi nila hehe

    Tanong ko lang. Kasi ngayun ko lang namalayan dun sa ACS result ko na comparable to AQF Associate Degree lang pala yung qualification ko. Although na credited lahat na 8yrs work exp ko.

    Ibig ba nitong sabihin na 10pts lang maki-claim ko sa Educational Qualification? Tama po ba ako?

    Parang ganun nga... If DIAC will rely on the ACS result however ika nga nila, it is only DIAC who will determine the final points that will be awarded.

    this is a tricky one.. based on AQF, associate degree is higher than diploma..
    while on the DIAC's points system
    - atleast bachelor degree is 15 pts
    - diploma and other trade qualification is 10 pts..

    So you are definitely above 10 pts, but is not 15 pts as per the definition..
    what are your total points now, considering these scenarios?

    maibilis na mainvite lalo na kung may SS..

    as long as you can provide the documents as proof for all the points you are claiming and wala naman problema sa medicals and PCC's nyo...almost sure na po yun. :)

    @LokiJr : hmmm...isip ko lang kasi...if you can prove the points you're claiming at walang negative sa PCC and medicals...there's no reason to reject?

    Guys question lang. I'm torn kasi between applying for skilled migration now or after 2-3 years pa. My target skill is Programmer/Analyst. My bachelor's degree is Economics but my current work right now is on Software Development. Medyo mahabang story pero to make it short I studied again a Post Baccalaureate course in Computer Technology then shifted to software development. My work experience consists of 4 years of Research work (since econ ako) and 5 years of solid Software Development work. Ang worry ko lang ngayon since hindi ako CS or IT grad, baka mababa ang makuha ko sa points, kaya naman naisip ko na mag-enroll last sem for MSIT which i'm targeting to finish 2-3 years from now para makatulong sa pag-add ng points. Now, the question is, tama ba ang desisyon ko na 'to or umpisahan ko na mag-apply ngayon. Maappreciate ko lahat ng suggestion. Thanks po.

    Btw, as an added info: my age is 29 and married with 1 child.

    @devrunner : you can still have your skills assessed kahit na hindi related sa ICT yung course nyo. iba nga lang po ang type ng assessment na kukunin nyo, kelangan nyo mag-RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). You can read more about it sa ACS website: http://www.acs.org.au/migration-skills-assessment/information-for-applicants

    pero for RPL cases, you need to have 6 years of experience closely related to your nominated occupation. since you have 5 years of experience na, you only have to wait for 1 year. pero try to read the assessment guidlines first from the link i gave above. :)
