@plokie - once you have your skills assessment and Ielts, isusubmit mo lang ulit un sa state kung saan available ang occupation mo.. may different threads ang bawat state.. check mo sa forum...

it can take between 1-4months processing time and 0-300aud application fee for SS, depending on the state..

Ang advantage ng SS, once approved, automatic na ang invitation sa Visa application.. so hindi na masyado maghihintay ng matagal, kahit medyo mababa ang EOI points mo..

I'd like to ask if ano po ang recommended na visa type - independent or state sponsored? i haven't decided on the state pa kasi, i'm thinking better pa rin ang independent para you are free to choose on which city to settle down. kaso lang, parang mas maliit ang chance or mas matagal ang waiting time mo to receive an invite? tama po ba? has anyone here been approved of an independent type visa? how long did it take for you to get an invite?

189 versus 190
- if your nominated occupation is not requiring SS (meaning not in CSOL), then 189
- if your total EOI score is more than 65 points, then you may easily get invited for 189
- if your score is 55pts, then get SS 5 pts, and invitation will be automatic for 190

marami na rin po ang visa grant for independent 189 (175 before)... check mo mga timeline ng mga members here..
for SS190, as mentioned earlier, pag okay na ang SS, automatic kana ma-iinvite sa 190 kahit 60 pts lang ang score mo.. unlike pag 189 kailangan medyo mataas para mabilis ka mainvite..

We got an invite 5 days after we lodged our application... Put it this way noh, if (1) nasa sched 1 ng SOL ang nominated occupation mo and (2) you have 65 pts and above - pasok immediately ang EOI mo and you will receive an invite to lodge a 189 visa at the next "draw date"...

Di totoo na mas mabilis ang SS - getting approval from SS alone will take at least a month to 6 weeks din. Plus possible added gastos pa (for NSW and others).

If you have 60pts, you may need to wait a while but the good thing is, DIAC has increased their invites lately. So dumadami ang invites so lumiliit ang nakapila sa 189 at 60pts.

@lock_code2004 thanks so much po for the info! nasa CSOL naman po ang nominated occupation ko (Software Engineer) kaya SS is not required. i'm actually targetting 70 pts (hopefully i get a 7 in all IELTS module plus 8+years exp. from ACS result *fingers crossed*). i initially thought that SS might give me a higher chance of getting an invite but with your advice and if everything goes well, then i won't apply for SS anymore.

@psychoboy wow, ang galing! ang bilis niyo naman nakakuha ng invite, and it took only a month for your visa to be approved! nakakatuwa naman, i'm inspired by your timeline. thanks for the enlightenment and for sharing the good news! makakatipid ako if ever kasi i was eyeing at SS from NSW eh mga abot pa yun ng AUD 300. pero sana maging ok talaga ang result ng IELTS and ACS ko. kakainip maghintay.

Just to confirm... SOL and CSOL are different:
- if your occupation is in SOL, 189 and 190 are both possible
- if your occupation is in CSOL, you need SS, therefore pathway is only visa 190...

@lock_code2004 hmmm magkaiba pala yun, i didn't notice. i was looking at CSOL pero i just checked SOL - schedule 1 and my nominated occupation is also there. so this means 190 is possible, right?

yes if it's in SOL Sched 1 - both 189 and 190 are possible (because SOL Sched 1 is the same as CSOL Sched 1)

-SOL Sched 1: for visa 189
-SOL Sched 1 is also the same as CSOL Sched 1: therefore visa 189 and 190 are okay
-CSOL Sched 2: Only for 190 SS

Question hindi ba OBS ang tinitignan s IELTS? Kasi nkuha ay w-7.0. S- 7.5 L-8.5 R- 8 OBS- 8.0? Hindi b sya 20points?

hi @jenipet20, per module po. To get 20pts - all modules should be an 8 . U can ask both W and S for a remarking. Congrats sa iyong high scores! Galing!

ahhh... dont worry po, ok dn ang may agent, la kc kame budget para dun Basta icompute nio po ung pts kung abot sa 60 for visa 189. Madame na dn na-aprub na 60pts recently dito sa forum Always have faith!

Hello po. Sana may makasagot sa tanong ko kasi nalilito na ako.

Nagpa assess na ako dati sa CPAA, year 2009 pa. Positive naman ang result and the letter clearly indicated that the assessment is valid until 2014. Di ko tinuloy nun yung application ko kasi after ko manganak naconfirm na may down syndrome ang baby ko and according to many mahihirapan ako makakuha ng visa grant dahil sa kalagayan ng baby ko. The advised us to get an agent pero wala naman kasi kami ganun kalaking pera para magtake ng risk. Ngayon medyo nabuhay yung pag asa namin dahil kahit paano may mga updates sa health inquiry committee recommendations. Ngayon ang problema ko nung time na nagpa assess ako sa CPAA hindi pa requirement sa kanila ang ielts para mkapag pa assess. Sa pag lodge na ng visa application dati kailangan yun. Ngayon ang requirement ng CPAA is an ielts OBS of 7 in Acad IELTS. Kelangan ko pa kaya magpa assess ulit after taking ielts? And if not, kung GT yung ielts na natake ko, magreretake kaya ako ng ielts na Acad? Thank you in advance sa mga sasagot.

in my opinion, valid pa rin ang assessment nyo (dahil expiration date is 2014)..

most assessing authorities' rule is you can ask for an update of your assessment after it expired.. and you will be re-assessed using the new requirements.. but since hindi pa naman expired ang assessment nyo, i would think na valid pa rin yan..

the best way po is to ask CPAA...

oh oh. EOI has "effectivity date".. and you know that invitation/ranking is based on the score and/or the effectivity date..

so if you will create a new one, you will be on the last rank again...
are there no options for recovering password?

GT lang po ang kailangan sa IELTS tas hindi na kailangan magpa assess ulit. Yan din po ang problema ko dati. 2010 ako nakakuha ng favorable assessment from CPAA. Nagtake po ako ng IELTS nung June 2011, General lang po nitake ko. Nakapag lodge na po ako ng visa gamit ung assessment ko nung 2010 at GT na IELTS. If meron na po kau IELTS (General), ok na po yan. Magsubmit na po kau ng EOI pra mainvite na agad. Goodluck & god bless po..
