Sa mga visa 190 - NSW nga pala diyan, ni review ko kasi yong invitation document at nabasa ko yong mga conditions:

    1. Live and work in NSW for two years from the date of visa grant (if already residing in Australia) or the date of my arrival in Australia;
    2. Advise NSW Trade & Investment of my address on arrival in NSW (if applicable) and of any change of home or business address during the first two years that I reside in NSW on this visa; and
    3. Respond to NSW Trade & Investment surveys or requests for updated information on employment and settlement in NSW.

Sa #2 paano ka mag i-inform ng NSW na dumating kana? at sa number #3 ano tong respond to survey? sent thru email ba ito from NSW? at requests for updated info and settlement. In case, may work na ako doon at may address paano ko i-notify ang NSW?

    Maraming Salamat.

Hello! Nag-attend ako PDOS nung tues and learned there the ff:

    1. Ang PH TRAVEL TAX pala ay valid for ilang times na use within the same calendar year for PR holders. Meaning, kung nag IE ka ng Jul then BM ka ng Dec, no need to pay travel tax during the latter.

Mejo naconfuse ako so tried clarifying with TIEZA via phone and they said exemption is only allowed if magpakita ng "certification". I contested kasi my sister in law got exempted without it. Pinakita lang nya visa grant letter nya dun sa NAIA counter. I also asked via fb msg pero babalikan pa daw nila ako with that concern.

    May nakaencounter na ba nito?

    2. Meron silang partnership with Intl Migrants Org (IMO) for lower AIRLINE RATES. I asked for a quote. Qantas sila 40kg pero when i compared online, mas mahal pa din sila. 33k (quote @40kg) vs 25k (online @30kg). Baka lang mas mura bigay nila kung marami like family. No harm in trying for others.

    3. Sa mga nagBM, talaga bang strict sila with DOWNLOADED CONTENT? Like ung mga nasa HD, flashdrives, or even laptop/phone?

    4. May nakaexperience pa din ba nung SWAB test ng LUGGAGE and pag-OPEN ng luggage dun sa pila ng checkin?

Thanks sa lahat ng inputs so far. Katuwa magbackread. Always very helpful in prep for our Aussie dreams. :)

@ssendood i actually tried to have my travel tax exempted on our ie (na bm na din) hahaha try lang. Sabi sakin sa first fly out may bayad pero once umuwi ng pinas then exit ulit, exempted na yun. Wala naman nabanggit na may period lang so d ako sure jan

Sa amin di naman chineck laptop and HD. I got downloaded movies in my hd that i forgot to delete, narealize ko nalang nung nandito na.

Yung swab parang normal procedure na siya for au flights? They did that to all of us in the flight and nabasa ko nga na may naganun dito sa forum so nilinis ko nalang din muna ng alcohol yung maleta hehe

Thanks @dyanisabelle :) di ko pala sure kung alin ung swabtest nung nagtourist ako kasi may luggage check sa airport entrance, checkin queue, chaka sa boarding gate dito sa maynila.

    Ito sabi ni TIEZA.

"We shall bring the matter concerning CFO Manila to the attention of our Travel Tax Department.

Once you have an entry to the country where you are a Permanent Resident, you will be entitled to the travel tax exemption the next time you return to and travel out of the Philippines. To avail of the exemption next time you travel, you may apply for exemption at any of our travek tax centers. Be sure to present your original passport, copy of identification page of passport & stamp of last arrival in the PH, and original proof of permanent residency abroad (such as the Permanent Resident Card).

Provided that you have presented the needed documents to any of our travel tax centers, you will be issued a Travel Tax Exemption Certificate. You will present this certificate when you fly out of the Philippines."

@ssendood I also done attending PDOS. As first time flying from Philippines to Australia we’ll be called as Emigrant which we need to pay the travel tax kasi hindi pa tayo Immigrant sa Australia, Emigrant pa lang daw kasi technically di pa tayo PR doon sa OZ. Magiging PR lang tayo ng OZ officially once makalapag na tayo mismo sa OZ. In General, CFO sticker is very important, wag niyo ito wawalain kahit mag change na kayo ng passport sabi always bring your old passport (if nagrenew/change na kayo) with CFO sticker if traveling to and from Pinas FOREVER unless we became citizen of other country. hehe

Now, if ever uuwi ng Pinas then fly out ng Australia pabalik hindi na rin tayo magbabayad ng travel tax na, UNLESS if we stay 365days or 1 year sa pinas, that will be the time na magbabayad na tayo ng travel tax. Another example umuwi ka ng Nov 2018 ng pinas then lumipad ka January 2019, hindi ka po magbabayad ng travel tax kahit nag iba na ang year kasi ang bilangan po is 365days or 1yr equivalent.

Nakasaad po ito sa P.D. 1183
    eto ang link: https://www.lawphil.net/statutes/presdecs/pd1977/pd_1183_1977.html

As PR’s of other country ang babayaran lang po natin every time we fly in and out of Pinas is ang terminal fee which is valid kasi ginagamit naman natin ang facilities ng airport.

    I hope this helps :)

    @agentKams @vincechaos Thanks! :)

Pero oks lang ba na di ko muna specify sa online form kung saan branch ko kukunin? Di ko pa kasi sure kung saan ako mag-initial entry. Either Sydney or Melbourne.

NSW ang sponsoring state ko pero baka dadaan muna ko ng Melbourne. Gusto ko sana makuha yung atm kung saan city man ako unang pupunta.

@ssendood thank you po, just to update - I filed through an agent po so I also had a meeting with my agent last weekend.

She mentioned that the Medicate needs to be applied 7 days after arrival to AU.
    - Not sure why there's a specific 7 day period that needs to lapse

What interested me though is that the card will be posted to your address in AU so its better to apply for it in the state you're planning a BM on. :)

Also, I applied my 189 visa as a "single" individual, so I'm not supposed to get married until after I activate my visa (make my entry to AU).

Id like to ask regarding opening of bank account like NAB, meron portion dun that you need to indicate which branch you will activate your account. Mabilis lang ba mag activate ng account, and makukuha agad yung card on the same day? Example, if you arrive in Sydney and stay there for a week for a short vacation then fly to adelaide (sponsoring state), if sa sydney ka mag activate ng bank account, okay lang? Thanks.

For writing essay I used E2 language format and applying what I learned from Ielts. Sa intro, sa 1st sentence ni restate ko lang yung question using my own words. Then sa 2nd sentence if one sided lang yung question, I give summary of the reasons ( 2 reasons only). Example, if ang essay is about importance of computers (one sided), eto 2nd sentence ko. Computers are valuable resources as they (1st reason) aid in learning and are (2nd reason) used to communicate with others. Then sa 3rd sentence sasabihin ko para pampahaba-- In this essay, I shall discuss my point of view by giving points and examples about the topic.

Then sa 2nd paragraph, elaborate ko na ang 1St reason. Mga 2 sentences na magsupport sa 1st reason, like if yung 1st reason ko is aid in learning, expand ko ang topic by answering how computers aid in learning, etc. Usually yung reason mo convert mo by asking how, what, when, or who. Tapos sa 3rd sentence, I state examples. Pwede ka din mag add pa ng 4th sentence parang isummarize mo lang ang 2nd paragraph.

Sa 3rd paragraph discuss naman ang 3rd reason same sa ginawa sa 2nd par.

4Th paragraph 1st sentence conclusion, then 2nd sentence recommendation.

If 2 sided naman yung intro pwede mo gamitin yung nasa template like kina Heprex na samples. Then yung 2nd par yung kabilang side, then yung 3rd paragraph yung other side. Tapos same last paragraph.

If medyo nahihirapan ka sa mga ideas, research ka dito sa forum ng mga recent topics. Tapos based dun sa topic reasearch ka anong pwedeng maging points and reasons para may idea ka na ano ilalagay mo sa essay.

Ang key talaga sa writing is dapat marami ka ideas. If nahihirapan ka mag construct ng idea try to research as much as possible. Google mo yung mga common or recent topics on pte writing tapos may mga sample questions dun,, then research mo ano possible answers para sa actual exam may idea kana ano isasagot. Tapos dpat familiarize mo mga connectors (like moreover, therefore, for instance, etc) kasi mas mataas ang grade kapag medyo complex ang sentence na ginagamit mo kesa simple sentences lang.

For summarize written text strategy ko is to first get ano main topic. Then analyze what important points were given, may nangyari ba? If meron ano ang nangyari, kelan nangyari? ano at para kanino ang purpose? Usually kasi sa mga paragraphs naka detail lang pero yung point lang naman dun is parang dinedescribe lang yung main topic. If you can answer who/what, when, how and why about the topic pwede mo na pagdugtungin yung ideas mo thru connectors and form a sentence. If you will have multiple paragraphs, summarize mo muna per paragraph then summarize mo ulit lahat in one sentence

Another tip also in writing as much as possible do not repeat the same words. If you dont have much stored knowledge about synonyms okay lang. Practice and Research is the key. Kaya malaki ang help sa akin yung pag research sa mga common or recent topics kasi while practicing pwede akong mghanap ng synonyms then mas madali ko syang ma recall sa actual exam kasi nagawa ko na sya before. Tapos if meron kayong word na ma encounter na parang hirap kayo mag elaborate, google nyo din anong synonym or phrases na pwedeng same meaning ng word. Share ko yung nilista kong mga synonyms na possible na magagamit sa mga essay kasi minsan these are the topics commonly asked.
