Thank you po.

Hi! I may apply for the Visa 482 soon. With regard to the adequate health insurance requirement, would I need to pay the insurance a one time fee for the duration of three years (three years kasi contract) or can I just pay for the first month for now?

There are 2 things to consider. Yung first, depende sa income ninyo. Parang mas mabuting i-compute ninyo kung magkano yung magiging surcharge ninyo tapos just get the insurance coverage equivalent to that amount. You can read about it here https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Medicare-and-private-health-insurance/Medicare-levy-surcharge/

The second thing to consider is your age. If you are over 30 years old and wala kayong private health insurance tapos you decide to get this later on, you will be charged health care loading which will make your premium more expensive. You can read about it here https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Medicare-and-private-health-insurance/Private-health-insurance-rebate/Lifetime-health-cover/

So baka yung lowest level of cover will already satisfy the Medicare Levy Surcharge requirement.

from my experience nung first year ko after makuha PR, nag extras muna kami then recently move with hospital cover due to medicare levy surcharge and lhc . You can check health providers now may mga offers sila like in my case with HCF 3rd and 4th month free cover.

Thank you po. Madodoble kaya yun this year kasi nakabuo kami ng 1yr na walang medicare?

Hello!
