    Base on your timeline, you apply for SS..once granted ka naman for SS automatically you will be invited regardless kahit 60 pointer k lng.

    The 60 point score is critical to those wishing for 189.

    @psychoboy, that's the spirit! sana nga mainvite na ang mga 60 pointers... sayang at di ako nagkaroon ng time earlier pa.. Oct 11 and 13 is IELTS exam ko pa lang.. kumusta na kaya si @wynx?.. ala ko 60 pointer sya at exactly July 01 sya naglodge ng EOI.. wala pa ako nabasa na post nya ulit for an update..

    Question lang po. First come first serve ba ang policy ng DIAC when picking out candidates or do they do it per occupation? I don't know if anyone knows anything about this, just wondering :)

    invitation is done based on ranking of scores (regardless of occupation)
    they will move to the EOI with lower scores pag naubos na ang mga higher scores at na reached na ang occupation limit...
    first come first serve basis will apply, kung tie kayo ng total score...

    how would you then rank different occupations? ano ang basis?
    example: an engr EOI with 70 pts versus an accountant EOI with 70 pts also..
    which one is more important?
    assuming na hindi pa na reached ang occupational ceiling for both..

    kaya ko nasabi na regardless of occupation..
    kung ang cut-off ngaun ay 70 pts.. lahat ng 70pts will be invited..
    assuming na hindi pa reached ang ceiling.

    naisip ko lang.. or maybe i'm wrong.. ;)

    im thinking (although not sure) that in each selection cycle.. may mga allocated the slots sa mga occupation.... so you don't have to compare between the engineer and accountant..

    that's good news! congrats! yan ang hinihintay na balita ng 60 pointers dito. hehehe!

    pero visa 190 pala kayo so automatic invite basta may SS...marami ata nagaantay na mga visa 189 na 60 pointer. :)

    @hotshot Yep visa 190.. Mas mabilis dae once may state sponsorship nya.. :) after a day na na approve ang state sponsorship ng husband ko, may invitation agad sya from skill select.. Yung state sponsorship nya naman, less than 2 months na na approve.. Kaya malapit na mga 60 pts :))

    im thinking (although not sure) that in each selection cycle.. may mga allocated the slots sa mga occupation.... so you don't have to compare between the engineer and accountant..

    This is false, invitation for 189 is as follows:

    (1) score - the higher your score, the better chance of getting invited. currently as far as I know, if you get 70pts and above automatic ka ma-invite for 189 visa come the following selection.

    (2) date as to when you applied for EOI - last Oct 1, the lowest score invited was 65. depends on when you applied, it will be first come, first serve basis.

    The invite will be given to you without any basis of what is your occupation. Yung occupation ceiling will only come in if they are already maxed out.

    For example sake ang isang accountant (221111), assuming that (1) maraming accountants nag-apply early, (2) maraming accountant na nabigyan ng 189 invite and (3) na reach na ang occupational ceiling this coming Oct 15; ang consequence nito will be that there will be no more further accountants that will be invited kahit na may isa na nag-apply with a score of 85.

    So yeah, going back... It is first come, first serve! :) nothing to do with your nominated occupation.

    @psychoboy you are absolutely correct!
    invitation for 189 visa is strictly on (1) the higher the score and (2) in the event of a point tie, the date and time of lodging EOI.
    Occupation doesn't come into play now cos when an occupation reaches it ceiling all applicant nominating that occupation can't be invited regardless of their points.

    for all the 60 pointers, i strongly believe your chances of invitation on 15 October is quite high if the previous trend continues. keep the faith and those of us already invited and have lodge our visa are praying you guys also make it. cheers

    Pwede @Isyut - when you do your EOI kasi before you submit, it will have a summary of your points claimed. If you include 189 and 190, 189 will show 55pts and 160 will show 60pts.

    If and when you get a state sponsorship, you should be fine and will get your invitation to lodge the visa application.

    Follow up question po. Yung ACS ko kasi assessed as equal to AQF Associate Degree major in computing, now dun sa Educational Qualification -Can I still claim 15pts as in points for a Bachelors Degree?
