    Follow up question po. Yung ACS ko kasi assessed as equal to AQF Associate Degree major in computing, now dun sa Educational Qualification -Can I still claim 15pts as in points for a Bachelors Degree?

    im thinking (although not sure) that in each selection cycle.. may mga allocated the slots sa mga occupation.... so you don't have to compare between the engineer and accountant..


    This is false, invitation for 189 is as follows:

    (1) score - the higher your score, the better chance of getting invited. currently as far as I know, if you get 70pts and above automatic ka ma-invite for 189 visa come the following selection.

    (2) date as to when you applied for EOI - last Oct 1, the lowest score invited was 65. depends on when you applied, it will be first come, first serve basis.

    The invite will be given to you without any basis of what is your occupation. Yung occupation ceiling will only come in if they are already maxed out.

    For example sake ang isang accountant (221111), assuming that (1) maraming accountants nag-apply early, (2) maraming accountant na nabigyan ng 189 invite and (3) na reach na ang occupational ceiling this coming Oct 15; ang consequence nito will be that there will be no more further accountants that will be invited kahit na may isa na nag-apply with a score of 85.

    So yeah, going back... It is first come, first serve! :) nothing to do with your nominated occupation.
    Hi, sorry to bring this up.. i saw in another thread that saintluke got an invitation eventhough he only lodged his EOI on October 2 with 60 pts as a Mechanical Engineer... with this.. im thinking right now that.. the selection process is also dependent on the occupation...

    yes.. ACS will assess if its equivalent to AQF degree (15 pts sa DIAC) or diploma (10 pts)..

    Ganun po ba. So ibig sabihin 10pts lang pala makukuha ko sa Degree ko kung sakali. Pero meron po ba case na eventhough assess sa ACS as associate degree only tapos naka claim
    nang 15pts ? Worried kasi ako sa magiging points ko. Sana lang favorable yung IELTS ko nuong 13th.

    Ang ielts nalang pagasa ko para aangat ang points :-(

    9/15/2012 - Updated my EOI = 65 points (visa 190);60 (VISA 189)
    10/10/2012 - Australia Federal Police Clearance Submitted Online
    10/11/2012 - FBI Clearance Sent Through DHL
    10/22/2012 - Received scan copy of AFP clearance from my friend in Melbourne
    11/15/2012 - Received Invitation for 189 (about 2 months after 60 pts effectivity)
    11/24/2012 - 189 VISA Lodged
    11/29/2012 - DIAC Ack :-)
    12/4/2012 - Received FBI clearance. Friend in US sent scanned copy

    Hi. Pakicorrect naman po ako. Sa pagkakainitindi ko po, pwdeng mag apply sa skill select for independent tapos apply din sa state sponsorship? Sa dami na nang nababasa ko, naguguluhan na ako. Hope to have nice people to explain po. Salamat!

    @theflyingrn you can definitely apply for both visa 189 (independent) and 190 (state sponsorship)... while doing your EOI.. you can have both 189 and 190 in the visa type question.. after i completed my EOI.. then nag apply ako ng Victoria State Sponsorship.. which is a separate process/application form outsite of EOI...

    Yun na nga eh, I expected an announcement from them mga 3 days beforehand... Now it is just hours aways from Nov 1 and wala pa announcement?!

    baka dahil madaming backlogs or sana naman they're doing some system enhancements bago magrelease ng bagong invites. based kasi sa mga nabasa ko dito sa forum about sa skillselect/uploading docs, etc....puru problema e. sana maayos na nila kung ano man ang problema para mabilis ang proseso. :)
