@anamarie Lahat po ng gustong mag-practice ng nursing and other medical fields sa Australia ay kailangan magpa-register sa AHPRA. At bago ka makapag-BP kailangan muna na letter of referral galing sa AHPRA.

oh and by the way, for nurses na nameet ko here sa Deakin Uni, they paid around php200k sa Pinas to process their bridging papers while mga nakilala ko na students ni sir mon, siya daw nagassist sa registration from philippines hanggang school sa australia for free. so if gusto niyo makasave talaga ng bongga, consider sir mon torio. you can search him on facebook din mon jeffrey torio mabait siya super and famous haha! cheers!

@cucci question lang po il’ve heard ung ibang nurses nag eenroll ng leadership and management para makapagvstay pa ng 1yr sa aus. Pwede ba un gawin for wxample ung tourist visa mo pag katapos mo sa iron ng 3mos pwede ka mag shift to student visa to take leadership and management? Onshore ba ang enrollment neto or kelangan sa uwi kana muna then apply ka ng course na to para makakuha ng student visa ulit?

@kymme diba po ang visa for IRON is tourist lang po? ok lang po ba na after IRON mag shift sa student visa and take other course like leadership and management? do I have to go home pa sa pinas to process yung student visa and enrollment for that couse? paano po kaya yung process pag ganung scenario? and right after po ba ng bridging course AURN kna agad or you need to wait for the registration para macount ung exp na working as AURN sa australia?

Hi @paanfsurn yes, possible po yan.. Thats my plan if ever hindi successfull yung sponsorship (482) ko ngayon.. No need to go home, you may apply for student visa 1 or 2 weeks before the end date of your visitor visa.. If ACN ka, nag offer din cla ng leadership and management tapos yung start ng skul is Jan 2019..

after BP, you need to re-apply again to AHPRA via AGBP-40.. When they approve, then you will become AU RN.. Make sure to get the student visa before your current tourist visa expires.. tpos while on student VISA, you may start looking for sponsorship (482) or apply for PR.. But while on student VISA, if AURN kana, you can try to find work as casual RN but being casual (not perm) I'm not sure if counted yan as experience in working in AU wc you intend to use for PR points.. if hindi din related sa profession mo then hindi ata yan magamit for points ng PR..

@LovellaEllen hi! What if yung EPIQ nila hindi ako matatapos for example jan 2019 lalo na full sila ngayon. Pwede parin ba ako mag apply ng student visa after bridging ko kahit ang start ng intake nila ng leadership and managemebt is january? Or kelangan ko umuwi muna at wait next intake nila for that course?

@paanfsurn In my case, Oct 12 matapos yung BP ko.. tpos start ng leadership and management is Jan 2019.. my VISA now is tourist business stream wc will expire Oct 20.. My plan is apply for an extension of my tourist business stream on 2nd week of Oct or I will apply normal tourist VISA explaining I have to wait for my AHPRA registration. I will have to show them na I have a pending application from AHPRA.. Once approved, they will usually give 1 or 2 mos.. I will use that to look for sponsorship (482).. if ever wala talaga then I will apply for student visa and enrol to leadership and management.. so atleast malapit na cya sa start date ng leadership and management ko wc is jan2019.. Im not really sure if they will approve the student visa even the start date of the course is 4-5 mos away.. I would assume no.. but hopefully may maka advice dito..

Check mo sa ACN website may mga info dun like start dates and fees..

@paanfsurn pwde din ata but ayaw ko yung mataas na idle stage (kasi mahirap din mag apply if hindi ka onshore) at magastos din kasi.. and if balik ako after lets say 1 month lang, i dont know how to explain bat balik agad ako..

may iba nga didto, apply muna cla ng student VISA (enrol ng any related sa nursing sa uni).. tpos pag nandito na, nag shift ng kahit anong course na easier (kasi walang class everyday at mura yung tuition).. tpos after that, they will apply for leave ata, once granted they will start their BP.. so BP cla, naka student visa na.. that way, they can bring along their husband/wife to work din kasi may work rights din cla (20hrs per 2 weeks ata or per week bah yun).. medyo ok din yun magastos lang hehe

@paanfsurn hi. i always recommend na mag extend via student visa post-BP. enrol a 1 year diploma leadership and management course. in that way, you will have 40hours/fortnight na work rights and can start working as RN. tuition for diploma is only $1500 down then $500/month (ACFE na school). post BP, process all paperwork for Ahpra rego, can take around 2-6 weeks dpends on how quick your school can send the list of students who passed to ahpra. then u have to apply for skills assessment to ANMAC. can take 6-8 weeks. then submit EOI for PR. dpends on how many points u have, the higher the quicker. then lodge PR visa and waiting game again.

while doing all that, you are working as an AuRN already.

In regards to claiming australian work exp, u can only claim jobs related to your nominated skill sa skills assessment. As per mu case, i was working 40hours/fortnight as a medical RN in a hosp in Melby, once na complete ko yung diploma na course, i also achieved my 1 yr AusRN exp which i claimed 5 points. and 5 points for 2 yrs Aus study (bachelor 1 yr and diploma 1 yr)

I tried to get my good standing this week kaso my employer refused kasi kelangan resigned na daw at wala na sa Oman. I told them I am willing to resign naman kung talagang ayaw nila ibigay eh kelangan ko talaga un document eh. However, iniisip k na hindi k na lang muna sya ilagay sa AHPRA application ko since hindi lang naman un ang working experience ko.

Hopefully someone can shed their light with regards to my situation. Thanks in advance.

@lizzie86 From my understanding, a COGS is critical because it implies that during your nursing career you do not and/or did not have any impediment to be registered as a nurse in Australia.

Do you have written communication from your employer regarding this or just verbal? This is just an opinion and not based on experience.

Considering your situation, you can execute a notarized Statutory Declaration explaining the matter and attach Professional Reference(s) from a nursing supervisor, nursing director, or even a colleague. State something like:

    1. you are employed as a _________ nurse with _________________ hospital from _________ to present;
    2. COGS are provided by MOH for MOH run hospital and by the hospital itself if private
    3. they do not issue COGS unless employee has resigned and/or finished their contract.

It would be helpful if in the professional reference(s), the referee can provide official communication channels like official hospital email (not yahoo or gmail) to facilitate should AHPRA deem it necessary to verify.
