    Hi Guys,
I posted some time ago about my skilled employment not being considered by cpa australia since i took their accounting theory exam last dec 2012 and only experiences after that would be considered from their end. i was initially assessed as 11/12 completed subjects and accounting theory was the lacking mandatory part. anyway, after consulting an Au agent and had my experiences assessed, i proceeded with my diac application submitting only my detailed COEs. I have just been granted a 189 visa. I applied last April, got allocated with CO after a week and was granted this May, recently.
I just want to let you guys know that skilled employment assessment by the assessing body is not mandatory (as also stated by DIAC) but would sure help in cases where experiences are not aligned with the ANZSCO description of an accountant (according to my agent).

    Hope this helps guys. Goodspeed.

    Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie in this forum. I'm a CPA too and took my license last 2010. Now, part of my plan is migrating to Australia in the future. Currently, I accepted a job offer as " Tax Accountant" from one of the largest company in Australia thru the their newly created global shared service center here in Taguig, Philippines. As the job title suggests, we are dealing with Australian Taxation. My question is, do you think this experience will be considered/counted in my application of migrating to Australia in the future? Thanks for the info.

^^ cannot be considered as Australian local experience which most employers in Australia are looking since youre based in Pinas and working under outsourced/ shared service arrangements.

But when time comes that you are already applying to work in Australia, dont forget to highlight that in your prospective employer. Thats the job application part. But how it will directly help on your application for migration i cant think of any. Indirectly, probably someone might sponsor you because of that exp but thats another story.

    So i think not much.

    Goodluck

@fanatic25 - just to make it clear regarding @vhoytoy 's comment..
    - your experience WILL be considered as part of your OVERSEAS working experience
    - but it will NOT be considered as LOCAL AUSTRALIAN experience...

for your info, iba kasi ang point system ng local AU work experience, mas mataas ang points..
read the skillselect points system to understand this..

but yes, definitely, it will be counted towards your work experience for skills assessment..

Thank you vhoythoy and lock_code2004 for all the inputs. Greatly appreciated.
I think I am now 100% sure to leave my current job (deals with US Taxation) and go for new job (Australian Taxation) for me to have better chance to land job in Australia.

    Thanks a lot again.

yeah - i think it will be helpful. One of the differences kasi when you are here in AU is iyung taxation law nila. So kung alam mo iyun..it can probably be an advantage. Iyan sabi minsan sa mga inaaplyan ko..wala daw kasi ako experience sa taxation ng AU, kaya iba kinukuha nila.

nope, last comment is only july 11 2013 hehe. Check mo yung mga pinned post like step by step applications, application guidelines nandun lahat sagot sa katanungan mo. Need mo muna ielts and assessment sa cpa australia/icaa/ipa before you can proceed to eoi sa australian embassy. Check and basa mo muna then you can ask specific questions later. Cost roughly 3060 aud visa fees (only you) + notarials, ielts + medical fees + nbi. You dont need agency and you can actually do it on your own. Goodluck

ahaha! thanks vhoythoy!... dpat pala sa 28th ako nagbasa to find the most recent posts. hehe. thank you!!! sa dami ng nababasa ko, confusing na... ung iba kc nasa kalagitnaan na ng steps. nasa step 1 pa lang ako. Nag inquire po kc ako for accounting jobs in australia sa isang manpower agency. Ang inexplain sakin is for permanent residence na (it was my first time to inquire, haist)... There was this 60point system, ielts exam (which i need to score 7), qualification assessment, mara agent, fees of about 382thou plus (is the price reasonable po ba? kasama na ung fee for mara agent sa 382). Basic info lang alam ko. How will i know if the agency is trustworthy, aside from POEA licensed sila? If i do it on my own, what is the assurance na may job na ako pagdating ko dun (optimistic about it, see you soo australia, mejo hilong talilong lang ngaun, nangangapa kumbaga :-*

Wala kang assurance na may job dito immediately upon arrival... It can get tough to secure a job here sa australia lalo na wala tayong local experience.

Most of us here landed in Australia na walang jobs; so ayun, hanap hanap... Kami ni misis, we got ours on our 2nd month here.

All the best to you @myra!

Visa processing is different for looking for a job. Establish yourself first as permanent resident then job will follow. Dont need mara agent, you can make it. Ielts definitely all 7 academic. If you do it on your own you can roughly spend 150k (more or less, below 200k at most) only. Laki ng matitipid mo. Your cpa and can pick up well. Basa2 lang dito sa forums and you can follow the prcedures easy. Im also cpa and already halfway. Wla din ako idea sa visa processing before, dito lang sa forum lahat. Madali lang din pala. Tambay2 lang dito pa may time haha. Goodluck
