    @pangrom0529 yes CPA status na binigay sa akin ng CPA Australia, hindi na ako dumaan sa associate. So i dont need to take the 6 exams anymore. Dito sa Singapore Office ako personally nagsubmit ng application ko for membership.

    @rolly04

    wow good for you! would you know if there are any criteria that must be met for you not to take the 6 exams?

    I just received an email from CPAA that I am eligible to join as an associate Member. Application fee is waived. I am having second thoughts, at baka sa CA na lang. Pero di pa sure. :D

    @IamGrasya since based ako dito sa singapore, nag-apply ako through their singapore office. I just filled up the application form then i personally submit the application together with supporting documents (TOR, diploma, PRC rating and ranking, certificate of membership philippines and singapore, result of migration assessment)

    Hindi ko na pinacertify mga photocopy ng documents ko kasi pinakita ko sa kanila yung original.

    After 10 days, nareceive ko na email confirmation na approved na membership ko.

    This costs me AUD830 :)>-

    Has anyone submitted his/her docs for skills and experience assessments recently to CPAA? Which one is a reliable courier (DHL, FedEx) and how much are the fees? Can you also tell me how long it took for CPAA to return the results?

    @TasBurrfoot

    Thanks! Ang mahal naman ng 6 subjects. It is really mandatory to take the 6 subjects? I was thinking yung law and taxation lang since fundamentally all accounting subjects are the same except for these two.

    In finding work, are there any edge if you put CPA - Associate Member? Or is it the same thing as being Non-CPA?

    Thanks!

    Walang edge sa tingin ko. Di nako nag bother kumuha ng CPA dito sa Au (although CPA ako sa Pinas at me MBA) kasi kakatamad na. Manager naman ako at mas maganda naman posisyon compared sa karamihan na alam kong CPA awa ni St.Michael Pale Pilsen (ang patron saint ko).

    Kurikong, kurikong...sa tumbong ay umusbong!

    Certifications is good to have especially if starting ka plang and you want to get notice by potential employer. But once establised kna di na sya mag matter masyado. Ang titignan talaga ng employer is yung past experiences mo and kung kaya mo or magfit ka sa work.

    Though i notice na sa mga auditing firms yan medyo ok marami ka titles kasi good marketing nila yan pag magsubmit sila ng proposals sa mga potential clients nila plus sagot nila mga membership fees and madali CPEs. I have 4 global certifications related sa audit and now medyo napapaisip na ako kung hanggang kailan ko kaya ma maintain. Mas madali kasi pumasa kesa mag maintain ng titles/ Certificates. You need to monitor the CPE hours at magbayad ng expensive annual membership fees + trainings/ seminar kapag gusto mo maging active members. Yung iba may certificate maintenance fees pa like CISA. Swerte ka kapag sagot ng company mo yan expenses. Pero for personal growth/ fullfilment and to show dedication to profession ok na ok yan hehe. I dont know about Australia, pero i notice sa Canada medyo big deal yan certifications (CGA, CMA, CA now CPA).

    @vhoythoy tama ka dyan, it's really expensive to maintain professional memberships.

    Ako, once na nakahanap na ako ng accounting work dyan sa Australia at medyo nakagain na ng enough local experience, maybe i will give up my CPA Australia title as well as my Chartered Accountant Singapore title. Unless maybe my company willing to pay my membership fees.

    Hi Guys,

    I'm a CPA with an MBA degree. Had all course outlines (all pages) of my Accounting degree certified by my school. My MBA course outlines though, I had to have them certified by a lawyer instead because I had a hard time contacting the signatory professors for my MBA subjects. Added to that, I only had the first and last page of these MBA course outlines certified by that notary lawyer because it was hella thick and found it impractical to have all signed, dry-sealed, etc. I really had to submit my documents to CPAA because time for me was of the essence.

    My questions is, do you think this will adversely affect my CPAA assessment application? I was thinking my Accounting degree will practically cover all the mandatory and foundational course requirements so even if they discredit my MBA qualification because of having not certified all pages of my course outlines (by my school), I will still receive a positive assessment. I finished my Accounting degree from a Section 1 school by the way.

    Any feedback you may have is highly appreciated.

    if you are looking at the positive skills assessment, i think you should not worry bout the mba portion as this is in no way related to accounting i believe...

    Thank you @rolly04. There are actually Accounting, Finance and Economics subjects in my MBA that could be credited but then again I believe my undergraduate Accounting course will already cover that. So I guess I'm good to go.

    Also, if I don't receive any feedback for the lack of documents from CPAA in the next 9 days or so (they received my docs yesterday based on my courier's website), then I should be sure all that I sent them are sufficient. CPAA's website says they will send a note within 10 days of receipt if there's something lacking or off with my docs. Otherwise, the next correspondence I should receive will be the assessment results.

    Thanks once again.
