@pontsiano Thanks for the encouragement. I have decided to take the IELTS exam 1st in order to assess myself before considering for a review course online. Hope i can hit this one on my 1st take

@domainer1925 no worries, mate! ;-)
there are also a lot of practice tests you can get online for free which will help you get the feel of it, again as i said even if you enroll in a review center but you don't put your heart into it, it will not give a good yield.
hitting your target on the 1st take is an excellent goal; tiwala ka lang brad and everything will fall into place.
I will email my materials anytime soon... for the meantime, you can gather some materials as well from the people here who are always ready to lend a hand. gudlak brad and all is well! ;-)

Hi everyone! I'm done with my Speaking Test and so far, I believe I have answered the interviewer correctly half of the time

I get nervous sometimes and this makes me speak fast, then I would run out of words to say. You really have to calm your nerves, and practice using the topics available online.

My feedback on my 1st visit at the test centre?
Good:
1. Well-ventilated
2. Quiet

Bad:
1. I waited for nearly 2 hours

2. The interviewer may have been tired already, so she cannot prevent from yawning several times while I speak. Hehehe... It is a major distraction for me, so you must learn how to handle disturbances.

Sa IDP SG po ako.

Sample questions about myself were:
1. Where do i currently stay
2. What do i like about the place
3. Weather of the country i am in

then shifted to:
1. Movie that i do not like and why

these are questions that i found when i googled "ielts speaking test 2014," so i think my research skills paid off

LOL Pag nageexpect ako, ang baba ng markings ko. hehe let it be na lang. pag hindi pumasa take ulit next month! speaking exam will be on thur 11 55 am..

Hi guys, just my two cents - While I know a lot of you are eager to embark on those Simons, Cambridge Materials for your IELTS training, and while that is the path well treaded upon, you can also do an "off-training" practice to supplement your regimen. This doesn't need to be structurally IELTS-format based as long as it is engaging and is still challenging your command of the English language. From my experience, listening to the Audio books of Game of Thrones (Books 3-5) had been an acquired hobby when I was preparing and it worked really well for me.

Don't forget to try and fun while you're honing your skills! From my experience, trying to devote "serious hours" of study usually leads to serious hours of sleep. It helps to trick your mind that what you're doing is cool and fun and awesome and that the world will never be the same once you have finished writing that Type 2 essay (ahem, curse you Writing)!

@BoyPintados - sa Aug. 16 sir, problem is lagi ako sakto sa 40 minutes sa writing. Ang try ko sinusundan this time yung Ace the ielts and writefix tips. I hope my remaining days to prepare will be enough para mapractice yung writing ko.
