Gusto ko lang magshare ng experience and tips sa ielts. Nagtake ko ng ielts GT for 4 times. From march, i have been taking ielts and just now, I finally passed. First take (bc-baguio), bagsak sa listening (bs-6.0) and speaking (bs-5.5), reading (9) and writing (7). Second take(idp-manila), bagsak pa rin sa speaking (5.5). Third take(bc-manila), same frustration which means 5.5 in speaking. Nag enroll ko sa speaking class sa baguio (EPro). Then nagtake ko last aug 16, kala ko bagsak ko sa speaking ulit ksi medyo konti lang mga nasabi ko nakabawi lang ko sa part 3 nung medyo naging comfortable ko. scores ko (L-8.5),(R-9), (W-7),(S-7) venue Baguio. In the end, di ko inexpect talaga kala ko bagsak ulit ko sa speaking. Key, a lot of prayers.
Some tips:
Listening-watch english movies and news channels such as bbc. Sa start ng test, go to section 3 and 4 agad at iskim, encircle key words before and after ng blanks. That way, di kayo mawala at makamiss ng marami items. Watch out kung plural or singular ang kailangan ex. I need a ___ <- this means singular ksi may "a".
Reading- ever since, hilig ko magbasa ng news sa net kahit sa yahoo lang. Naging ugali ko magbasa pag hinihintay ko asawa ko mag out sa work. Maincrease speed niyo magbasa and vocabulary. True-pagsimilar yung question sa passage, False-pagcontradicting yung question sa passage or may kulang sa binanggit yung questions ex. (P) sports and drinking booze are the only leisure activities in manila.
(Q) sports is the only leisure activity in manila. Not given-pag di makita sa passage or di naman na explain sa passage.
Writing-coherence and vocabulary yung tinitignan nila sa tingin ko. Basta clear. Coherent in the sense na segragated yung mga topic mo per paragraph. Task 1- 1st par (state intent), 2nd (explain every bullet points), 3rd (action paragraph), 4th (notes like you may contact me at 0917xxxx), pampahaba lang. Hehe. At try niyo gumamit ng complex sentences paminsan minsan.
Task 2 - 3-4 paragraphs. Mapapayo ko magplan kayo dito at mag allocate ng 5 mins just to jot down yung mga points. Ako mga 2-3 points lang each advantage/disadvantage at i explain or expand niyo na lang. Higitan niyo lang ng isa kung ano man stand nyo.
1st par- introduction. State immediately your stand.
2nd/3rd par- Format per paragraph, topic sentence->supporting sentece->examples then transition like furthermore. Topic sentence ulit->supporting->
4th-conclusion.
Basta siguraduhin niyo matapos lahat ng paragraph kahit 2 or 3 sentences lang sa conclusion at yung minimum words. At yung vocab nyo dapat varying para d sabihin limited vocabulary.
Speaking- my waterloo. Coherence ata tinitignan nila dito. Wala ko masyado nagamit na vocabulary nung pumasa ko. Basta ma explain niyo yung sagot niyo gamit yung format kagaya sa writing. Pagsinabi tell/describe, kailangan mo mapaint sa interviewer yung exp mo especially sa part 2. Ako nga medyo madami pauses ko at mabagal magsalita pero pinasa naman ko.
Higit sa lahat prayers.
