    Tips:

    - Wag mapili sa trabaho. Nung dumating kasi ako dito, ang ina-applyan ko lang ay yung permanent positions. Hindi pala uso un dito. Karamihan sa work ay casual, contractual, part-time or temporary lang - lalong lalo na sa IT. Pero ganunpaman, nagbunga ang pagiging pihikan ko sa trabaho hehe. Ang tagal nga lang ng paghihintay.

    - Maraming jobs na hindi posted sa career websites like Seek or CareerOne. It's nice to check the YellowPages for list of companies, and LinkedIn to find for their HR/ Managers then send your application directly to them. OR build your network of friends. Don't limit it to fellow Filipinos. Include your neighbors, local store owners, police, barbers, churchmates, etc. Sila man ay pwedeng mapagtanungan kung may alam silang job opening na pwede mong apply-an. The job I got was not at all posted in any websites. I just happen to see the name of the company in YellowPages and the manager in LinkedIn. Nagsend ako ng email application. Nakalipas ang ilang linggo/buwan, ayun, tinawagan ako for interview. Nagustuhan naman nila ako, then job offer na.

    - Akala ko nung una, discriminatory mga Aussies. Tipong, baka hindi nila ako hina-hire dahil wala akong local experience, although meron talagang job ads na nagsasabing dapat may prior local experience ka to be considered. Pero hindi naman pala. Mula sa dami ng interviews ko, I learned that they really are just looking for that perfect fit. So it is very important that you give them answers that suits their needs as well as their organization. So, bago ang interview, review the job ad, check the company's website, then prepare for answers to possible questions.

    @JayR27 congrats sir.. :-)

    ...inggit ulet ako! haha

@czha - hindi po ako nagpart-time job, although maraming opportunities for part-time. By God's grace, full-time role po ung nakuha ko ngaun. Matagal nga lang, pero for me, it was worth the wait. ^_^

I've learned this from a recruiter friend, what they meant with local experience is when they need someone who could blend in the team, yung tipong marunong kang makipag interact and converse with aussies, and if u can understand their slang/expressions..so if u dn't have local experience but u have the xperience interacting with local Australians, state that in ur CV and surely u will pass this category

@gmad06 Ah so I need to put such experience sa resume kahit unrelated sa job na inaapplyan ko (like pagandahin na lang siguro para magmukhang may kinalaman pa rin sa experience). My job hunting experience kasi is that recruiters (plural) asked me upfront if I have local experience. I said yes I'm into trades. He said na naghahanap daw sya ng may local experience sa field na inaapplyan ko which I dont have as of the moment. Gusto ko nga pumasok so that I can prove myself. My field is Pharma and Food (either Laboratory or Production coz I have experience on both). Masubukan nga to. Thanks again.

Sana may nagtatrabaho sa Pharma or Food company sa forums natin.
@enxym yup there are cases din talaga na essential yung local experience na related sa field mo, have you asked them specifically kung bakit need nila yung local experience sa position? if u haven't, don't be afraid next time to ask them..they are pretty ok with that.

if u have a temporary job but then feel mo parang hindi siya bagay banggitin sa CV mo. u could mention that in ur coverletter instead. this will be your soft skills.

    all the best kabayan.

    Tips:

Well done. Make sense and fair enough :D

After 3 months and 3 weeks, may trabaho na ako!!! Woohoo! Thank you Lord!

    Not casual.
    Not contractual.
    Not Part-time.
    Not temporary.

Rather, permanent role pa! Woohoo! Salamat po talaga sa Dios!

Mag start na akong mag work on Tuesday, Public Holiday kasi sa Monday. ^_^
Basta do your self research anu yung mga dapat at hindi dapat gawin. God bless...
