nasa small room din ako, lucky room! i think it builds confidence kase walang abala na mga katabi and wala din makakarinig kahit anong lakas ng boses or errors made hehe

Newbie here! I haven't read all the notes here but I just want to share my experience, give some advice, and give opinion why one should take PTE vs. IELTS, or IELTS then PTE

I took IELTS academic three effin times but my writing was always marked 6.5; all the others were good, ranging from 7.5-8.5.

Nawalan na ako ng pagasa pero may nagsabi sakin magtake daw ako ng PTE-A, and voila, 90 lahat!

Key takeaways:
1) Both are good measures of language test, however IELTS is more prone to be scored subjectively. PTE-A on the other hand is more objective, but may be prone to "robotic" scoring, i.e.you can use some patterns as some here referred to as 'templates'.
2) i think one's experience in IELTS will result to good scores in PTE. He just needs to be familarized on the type of questions.
3) PTE's test format is easier BUT since there's time pressure for every question, medyo nakakataranta and sometime nakaka-mind block
4) I DON'T KNOW why I got 90 sa speaking. Honestly nag stutter ako a lot (maybe because nakakastress nga isipin na may time limit) and for some of the questions, I wasn't able to finish speaking within the time limit. With this, I advise to take PTE kasi pag sa IELTS, below 7 na agad yun siguro. Haha!
5) It helped that I watch US series to learn conversational english and idioms. It helped din na I engage in meetings na english ang medium kahit pinoy kausap. It helped din na may british akong ka-trabaho to train my ears

i read things that interests me: GAME OF THRONES!!!
6) it just takes practice and patience to ace a language test. And make sure to choose the right exam for your needs - I just did! Haha!

@kholoudmanlucu 3 weeks na akong nagprapractice kaso lang di ako comfortable sa read aloud tsaka describe image... ikaw? ano ba experience mo? mas comfortable ba PTE sa'yo? IELTS kasi familiar na ako sa format ng test kaya medyo napapaisip ko which way. target ko to claim 10pts.
Nga pala March ka pa ba ng EOI for NSW? hangang now wala pang invite...
Isa ko kasing option is subclass 190 kung papalarin sa EA aabot ako hangang 55 pts., kaya nagiisip ako na baka 190 nalang instead na 189 para di na magexam PTE or IELTS.
Kaso lang nacheck ko sa NSW regional skilled occupation list yung availability ng job nomination ko kahit saang region ay wala although nasa NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List sya.
Ganun din napansin ko sa 233411 Electronics Engineer.
Tsaka ibang 190 stream kailan 7.0 IELTS like WA or VIC, so looks like na kailangan talaga mag english test.

Actually yung exam ko sa IELTS lagi akong may isang hindi 7. Either speaking or writing, 6.5/6.0 so nagtry ako ng PTE, pero lagi akong sablay sa speaking. Although naka apply na ako sa NSW for 190 pero kailangan ko pataasin score ko kasi since March pa yung EOI ko. Kasi sa NSW priority nila mas mataas ang scores. Try mo mag exam ng PTE kasi yung iba nakukuha nila yung desired score nila. Computerized kasi scoring sa PTE so malay mo matsambahan mo ang speaking. Ano ba ang mga last scores mo sa IELTS?

Yes, kung makaka 10 points ka sa IELTS/PTE mas may chance na mainvite.

Nakita ko ditto sa forum yung pag search sa ANSZO, so napansin ko dun open pala sa ACT ang 190 kung may kamag anak, since August pa ata yun na update. So nasabihan ko yung agent ko na iapply ako dun. Medyo madaming paper works pero almost complete na sya. Target ko ilodge ang EOI before sila magresume sa Jan 4.

@kholoudmanlucu nasa tracker ko yung score, last nov. 7 ako nagtake isa lang 7.0 ko, speaking. ANZSCO 233512, Mechanical Engineer naman yung job code ko. inaantay ko yung license certificate ko from PRC nwala ko kasi yung original, then saka ako pa assess sa EA, sa february expected release. one week after result from EA plan ko take ng IELTS or PTE not decided pa this time...

@dorbsdee I see, according sa ANZSCO aside from NSW, puede kang magapply sa Darwin, minimum 6 lang kailangan for each band or sa ACT kasi minimum 6 lang dun pero dapat 7 sa speaking provided yun nga lang dapat may job offer ka.

In God's will, matatapos din natin ang process...

@dorbsdee Hello.. try mo PTE kc may lenient sila sa scoring, malay mo makuha mo desired score mo. Regarding sa read aloud, same here, nagpapractice pa rin. Ayun nga ang pinakamadali. Sa describe image, try to practice na may timer. For me, yes, madami kasing format sa PTE kesa sa IELTS, but...I find scoring in IELTS very subjective. Kung nag-ielts ka, madali na lang sayo ang PTE. Tiyaga lang. Wag susuko! hehe. Feeling ko bored ka na sa review. Try mo din makinig ng mga model answers, for sure may makukuha kang tips. Record your voice while reading, so u can hear how to you sound speaking in English. Good Luck!
