    @teenZseyer: both are skills assessing bodies. ACS - Australian Computer Society, mostly IT occupations d2 po nagpapa assess; VETASSESS - Vocational Education and Training Assessment Services; general occupations/professionals and trade occupations ang cater ng assessing body na to.
    hope this helps!

    Congrats, @adrielli! :) Pareho tayong IE. :)

    To answer your questions:

    1. You can search in gumtree.com.au. Medyo challenge if wala ka pa dun sa AU especially if agent yung nag-ooffer nun place for rent. Usually they will ask for a job contract or reference/recommendation from your previous agent, which is not possible kasi first time mo pa lang sa Australia. But if renters lang kausap mo who usually search for someone na magtutuloy ng contract nila, baka may chance ka. You can also keep an eye in this forum, minsan meron nag-ooffer. $150-200 is actually ok na.

    2. Basta wag ka lang muna mapili, I believe madali ka makakakuha ng work. That's my mantra too. :) Wala pa din ako sa AU. This October pa lang lipad namin ni hubby, no job offer yet. For me, masyado na matagal if wala ka pa work on your 3rd month. Something must be wrong with your resume and even cover letter or during interviews.

    3. So far, seek.com ang ok. You can also check careerone.com.au. Pagdating mo sa AU ng wala pang work, you can also check ads in newspapers. Usually, Saturday daw ang madaming postings.

    4. Kami ng hubby ko estimate namin is 2K to 2.5K samin dalawa na po yun. So if ikaw lang po, maybe around 1.5K to 1.8K should be enough. Tipid muna sa umpisa.

    5. Di ko pa masasagot to sa ngayon but I think madami din. :)

    You can also read the thread Things to do before going to Au and Things to do after arriving in AU.

    God bless! Keep your questions coming. Maraming sasagot sayo dito. :)

    1. I don't have any relatives in OZ and will be doing everything solo, is it difficult to find cheap lodging (around $150-200/wk), and where would I look for ads?

    2. Is it difficult to get a part-time job while looking for permanent/full-time employment (since I'll only be bringing money good for 2-3 months, and hoping part-time jobs would cover expenses while searching for a permanent job)?

    3. I only know of seek.com.au for job searching- is this adequate?

    4. Could I ask for a rough estimate of monthly living expenses?

    5. Madami bang Pinoy sa Melbourne? :D feel ko ma-ho-homesick ako e :(

    @JClem hello! thanks for answering!! :D whoa $150-200 is okay na? yay! I also wouldn't mind if may kashare sa room :) so yun pala isang challenge- find renters willing to let me stay :/ pag 3rd month wala pa, panic mode =)) thanks sa reference websites, will definitely check 'em out :D :D

    Adrielli, elbi or diliman? Hehe. IESO or IE Circle<?> or UPIE Club or EnSoc or EngSoc. Meron ata dito sa Au. Sydney based yung dalawang kilala kong IE.

    Job boards/ sites: Seek.com. au jobsjobsjobs trovit gumtree linkedin

    Magluto ka. Magiging friends mo sina ham, sausages, egg, mi goreng, lucky me, murang chicken, baked beans, potatoes and si kanin. Hehe.

    Melbourne. Wala akong kilala. Though meron daw dun. Hehe. Sydney and Perth ung mga kilala kong isko at iska.

Recommended na android phone or iphone primary phone mo. Para may apps la like google maps, 131500 (transport info), Navdroyd and Tripview.

    ei. Sorry sa late reply. All campuses of UP, pwede.

You can study on weekends naman so pwedeng pwede. After that, file na ng PR.

    Sure ball ung PR niyo kapag

    1. more than 3 years exp outside Australia
    2. 1 year exp sa Australia (dapat engg ang background)
    3. 7 ang IELTS, at least.

    70++ points na ata un kagad. Walang kahirap hirap. Kainggit.

    Ayun lang. Good luck sa atin! :)

    simple lang po ang requirements ng visa 476.. so there is really no "TIPS" required.. hehehe
    just get all your documents and submit...

    regarding job hunting in AU.. iba iba ang exp ng mga forumers... some got a job in just 2 weeks.. others said average time to land a job is approx 3 months... some said 5 months..
    it really depends on several factors, your skills, location, work exp, and luck... ;)

    for sure maraming part time jobs available.. although most are not related to your college degree or current work exp, it will surely help you pay the bills...

    browse the forum.. read other threads...
    goodluck...

    ^^ skills. luck. kulitin mo din ung mga employer/HR na mga nasendan mo ng resume/cv. mas mahirap kung nasa pinas ka hanap ng work. kasi bihira ang tatawag sa iyo, kasi la ka pa naman exp tlga. kapag andito ka na, get a sim, buy load (recharge ang tawag dito) may plan naman na 30 dollars a month. Ok na yun. After a day mo magsubmit ng resume, tawagan mo na. Ayusin mo na pala yung resume and cover letter mo para mas mabilis makahanap ng work. Wag kang mapili sa work if ever. Estimator kung estimator, cadet kung cadet, trainee kung trainee, assistant kung assistant, junior kung junior. Ayan, may mga keywords ka na kapag hanap work ha. Estimator, trainee, assistant, junior. Pero swerte mo na lang kapag nakapasok ka as project engineer or same position mo sa pinas.

    While working, you can do your career episodes for EA. I can give you some tips, pero siyempre, galing din yun sa iba. Hehe. Ginagawa ko din ngayon ung career episodes ko. Grab the opportunity! Apply ka na. Swerte nga natin at may easier ticket tayo for Australia. Ewan ko na lang kapag papakawalan mo. malapit na ang 2013. Hindi ka na pwede sa Visa 476 if ever.

    @lock_code2004: yep..

    @adrielli: good thing real name mo ginamit mo dito sa forum. Already told an IE friend sa pagpunta mo dito sa Au. Sa Sydney ka na lang daw pumunta. Orgmates pala kayo sa circle/club.

    I would like to inform other Visa 476 holders na mas mahirap na ang pag apply ng Visa 189 para sa atin. Dapat lang IELTS = 8. kapag IELTS =7, malabo. Dapat pala nag review ako before taking IELTS, para sure ball yung PR. I have to take IELTS again.

    If IELTS OB = 7; no 3 years exp outside Australia;

    Age = 30 pts
    EA = 15 pts
    Exp (at least 1 year working in AU) = 5 pts
    IELTS = 10 pts

    = 60 pts

    If IELTS OB = 8; no 3 years exp outside Australia;

    Age = 30 pts
    EA = 15 pts
    Exp (at least 1 year working in AU) = 5 pts
    IELTS = 20 pts

    = 70 pts

    For 3 years exp outside Australia: hindi yata considered yung sa Practicum/OJT, dapat paid and at least 20<?> hours a week yung work.

    Aim for IELTS OB = 8.

    Adrielli's expression after reading my post ----> : )

    once you have submitted your EOI...
    go to the specific state's immigration website... and submit the requirements (Skills assessment, IELTS, and EOI reference number).. some states have application fee.. alam ko SA is free..

    once approved, they will check your EOI, and then select you (invitation to apply for visa)..
    that's it.. so kung meron ka nang 60 pts ngaun... may additional 5 pts ang state sponsorship..

    and from what i've read here.. most of those with State sponsorships were immediately invited..
    based sa report ng skillselect, continuous ang invitation pag state sponsored, unlike pag visa 189, they invite only once/twice a month...

    For visa 190, it is also important to take note of the specific requirements per state. For example, queensland would only sponsor civil engineers with 5 years experience and you also have to be registered to its board. Meanwhile, i believe WA and SA would only require 1-2 years of skilled employment.

    This should be considered as a serious option in lieu of 189. you can even only score 55points because the additional 5points from the invite will bring your total mark to 60, and this is the new pass mark if i'm not mistaken.

    Cheers! =)

    Thanks a lot. Now I'm thinking about relocating in Adelaide. If my IELTS OB is below 8, lipat na ako ng state.

    Hello, tanong po ulit, tinatanggap po ba ng DIAC yung standard na English Translation of Diploma na iniissue ng OUR? Or kelangan ko pa pong magrequest na lagyan ng OUR nung other details ng translator like: address, telephone number, and details of their qualifications and experience in the language being translated? :) Salamat po.
