Depende po talaga sa company, sa amin kasi sabi ng boss ko.. mag-OT ka today then bukas useless ka naman sa office kasi antok/pagod ka. So better to get a good rest and prepare for the next day ahead.

Sir I'm telling you, you will feel very well compensated sa effort at trabaho na ginagawa mo dito. Hehe. I am very happy dito, no complaints.

ask ko lng regarding sa post ni lock_code2004 as quoted above, ano po ang instances na hihingan ka ng PCC for different countries? Ibig ba sabihin kung nag-work ako sa Malaysia, Jakarta, Thailand, before eh papakuhanin nila ako ng PCC from those countries, basically from countries I've previously worked in with valid working visas?

That's one clear benefit in Australia! Bale hindi sukatan ng performance sa Australia kung gaano ka katagal sa opisina? As in wala bang nagtatagal nang magdamagan sa opisina diyan? hehe.

@sapper, my understanding is sa Pinas ka hihingi ng PCC unless matagal ka nang nakatira sa isang bansa at wala kang balak bumalik ng Pinas bago mag-Australia (please correct me if my understanding is wrong).

The requirement is: If you resided in a country for 12 months or more (cumulative), they will ask you for a Police Clearance from that country..

Nun naghahanap pa ako work sa Seek, madami po opening for Business Analyst. Sa umpisa siguro huwag na lang muna mapili sa location and salary package. Pero.. exception is if highly skilled ka talaga, then by all means mag-demand ka. Hehe. Ask for what you think you deserve. Sa interview and negotiation naman "priming" lang. You need to control the conversation.

Pero.. exception is if highly skilled ka talaga, then by all means mag-demand ka. Hehe. Ask for what you think you deserve. Sa interview and negotiation naman "priming" lang. @glaiza1210 , I am currently employed as Senior Environmental Advisor dito sa Qld. This is an in-demand job dito sa Qld dahil maraming mining sites here, ganun din siguro sa ibang states. Napansin ko lang not many Filipinos ang nag-aapply sa ganitong job. Karamihan, mga CPA, at computer-related jobs ang maraming pinoy. Sana lang dumami ang mga Pinoy na interested sa field ng environment dahil this kind of job will certainly give a six digit salary.

@johnandjosh wow okay na career yan. NOrmally meron ngang ganyan occupation pag sa mining, even sa Oil/Energy industry. Problem nga lang parang hindi yan masyadong sikat sa Pinas in terms of courses cguro? Or hindi rin? PDe ba jan mga Chem Eng graduates? hehe marami kase dito tlga sa forum puro IT

@stolich18, tama ka dyan hindi sikat sa pinas ang mga ganitong occupation. Pero dito sa Aus, especially sa mining and heavy industry, kailangan ng mga environmental officers/advisors. Usual qualifications dito e engineering.

@glaiza1210, tama ka dyan, environmental engineer ang dating job ko sa pinas. Back in the 90s, 4 lang kami sa isang class ng envi engring samantalang nagsisiksikan sa mga IT-computer engineering courses.

@faye, hindi ko alam kung maraming work ang chemist. Usually pwede sa mga lab yan di ba? We send our water and sediment samples sa ALS Laboratory. Check mo na lang baka may opening sila.

@LokiJr , yun ang sabi. Pero sa ngayon marami ditong kabubukas lang na mga mine sites. Sa tingin ko tuloy tuloy pa rin ang mining boom, particularly sa WA and QLD.

@KTP now that you have your visa, you should start looking for job habang nasa pinas ka pa. You have a better chance now lalo na Visa 175 ka. Punta ka lang sa www.seek.com.au that's where I got my current job. Your CV must indicate your visa subclass and if possible lagyan mo ng AU address and let the employers know that you have the right to live and work in Au. Ganyan lang ang ginawa ko and I got interviews.

@johnandjosh - Jan 2013 pa po kase kame pupunta sa oz. Nov 12 aalis na kame ng SG para magbakasyon muna sa Pinas... hehe i tried to apply sa seek, pero wala naman responses... feeling ko kase, mashado pa maaga maghanap ng work, since Jan 14 pa kame pupunta dun... siguro around december na ako ulit maghanap ng work...

@LokiJr , actually, hindi pa ako nag apply ng 175 visa, nagpapadala na ako ng CV sa seek. May mga interviews akong nakuha, one sa Mackay, Qld which I almost got the job because I did not do well in the final interview, the other one sa WA at the end of interview sabi sa akin they will get the most qualified and readily available candidate. Marami rin akong napadalang CV may mga nagreply at marami ring rejection at "Thank you for your application" lang.

Kaya naisipan ko na mag-apply muna ng Visa. When we got our 175 visa, we made our initial entry for two weeks (March 2010), ie. one month before mag expire. I started sending out my CV again with an Au address and contact info. Nung umuwi kami sa pinas, this employer responded to my application through email. They asked for a 1 hour written exam and telephone interview. After two weeks they informed me that I was included in the final list of candidates for another round of exam and panel interview. The exam was a research work and on the day of interview, I would have 15 minutes to present my output through skype and the panel has 30 minutes to ask questions. Ganito ka stressful ang pinagdaanan ko before I got this job. Of course, may kasamang dasal yun.

Pero it's worth naman, because they offered me the job with benefits of relocation expenses from point of origin to the job site, free housing and the usual benefits (salary + super + site allowance). There was even this familiarisation visit na hindi na namin kinuha ng wife ko dahil I have already accepted the offer.

I considered myself and my family very lucky. Dahil hindi na kami nahirapang magsimula dito sa Au. Hindi ko na nga inisip yung pera na dadalhin namin. We only have US$2K in our pocket e nagbayad pa ako ng $500 dun sa kumag sa Airport at namasyal pa kami sa Sydney for 3 days, we ended up having only less than $1K when we arrived here in NW Qld. But we survived, and now more than 2 years na kami dito. God is really good!

My advise - tyaga, sipag at dasal. May kanya-kanya tayong swerte. The fact na na-approve ang visa nyo ibig sabihin you have a good chance na makahanap ng trabaho dito. Most of the employers (di lang siguro dito sa Au), kapag na-experience nilang makatrabaho ang mga Pinoy, gusto nila mga employees nila sa susunod ay mga Pinoy na rin. May X Factor ang mga pinoy dito lalo na sa mga hospitality/service industry. Hindi kasi tayo mareklamo at hanggang kaya nating gawin ang trabaho e gagawin natin. The only problem na nakikita ko sa mga Pinoy ay ang pagiging crab mentality at chismosa! (Sorry sa mga tinamaan).
