@philAus2012 sa experience ko, I have no regrets. sa una mahirap pero kpg naka adjust ka na you will enjoy the fruits of your hardship..my first 3 months in nz, i worked as cleaner in a hotel kc nga parang ayaw nila akong bigyan ng chance.struggle tlga.pero ng iniba ko ang mind set ko, na sinabi ko sa sarili ko na i will not allow myself to be a cleaner forever and i learnt to entrust my whole life to God..hayun may nag offer sa akin na company as draftsman. At nung nalaman nila na maalam ako sa structural design ginawa nila ako na engineer.after 5 years of experience in NZ, company here in Melbourne offered me a job.they even paid my relocation. so as a conclusion, it is a matter of attitude lang din.huwag kang matakot na bumaba.minsan kelangan din natin yun to fit in to our new environment.I am not saying na tanggapin mo kahit na anong work, what I mean is be prepared sa ano mang pwedeng mangyari sa iyo dito. It's worth naman later on. lalo na sa may mga family. Ok ang mga benifits dito sa OZ.

Halina kayo dito at huwag ng matakot.The fact na na approve yung visa mo, ibig sabihin nun will ni Lord na mapunta ka dito. God bless kabayan.

@vangievc Hi vangie... mapuans pla tyo... batch 2k nga lang ako ME. Ask ko lang how to be a member of EA? Sa work ba may mga sick leave, vacation leaves at iba pang leaves cla?.

Yup 20 days anual leave, public holidays pa(depende ito sa state), 10 days sick/personal/carer's leave. Standard ito but other company offer more than this.
May super annuation din dito. Compulsary sya. Meaning 9% ng total earning mo ay sinesave mg government.They invest it. kaya mucho mucho ka pagtanda mo. ha ha ha. This is something na you can discuss sa employer as a salary package. OK nga sya kasi may savings tayo pag tanda natin kahit wala tayong naitatabi sa bangko. :-)

Madali lang magpamember sa EA. Basta na assess ka na nila, you are qualified as professional member. You have to pay around less than $500 per year. Sa case ko company ang nagbabayad. Sa mga katulad natin na Immigrant, I think it's worth being a member kasi kelangan madagdagan ang qualififcation natin.Pero sa mga local, they find it a waste of money.

Dito sa Victoria mas importante ang maging Building Practitioner. Sa ibang state yata another assessment uli. But this qualification is more benificial than being EA makakapirma tayo ng Certification(Certifying your design).Once na Registered Building Practitioner ka, everything that you are doing is covered by the Insurance.Though I am a registered building practitioner, minimaintain ko pa rin membership for EA. palamuti rin sa CV ito. Kasi kung ako amg mag-aassess ng applicant at alam kong member ng EA, I will give them an edge.

A lot of things to share...Always remember na kahit mag struggle kayo dito sa una, if you have a concrete experience back home, you will find a good job later own. Sometimes knowledge is not enough.importante ang character at attitude...coming from the one older than you. :-)

@vangievc tanong ko lang, meron din bang exam sa pagregister sa EA...just like sa US na meron silang tinatawag na NCEES...

anyways, mahirap bang maghanap ng work sa Oz?! i mean, if state sponsored ang visa mo, mahirap pa rin ba or the state itself will find a job suited for you :-)

wala ng exam exam pa dito. even nga sa pag aapply ng work interview lang din.

Parang Associatin lang ang EA pero binigyan sila ng responsibility ng Immigration to assess qualififcations. Ang nagbibigay ng Registration dito sa Victoria ay ang Building Practitioner Board. Wala rin silang exam, they are after sa experience at endorsement ng company.Alam ko min of 3 years experience ang requirement.

medyo mahina ang construction industry ngayon compare nung bagong dating ako 2007.Hindi kami busy ngayon(www.brownconsulting.com.au). Hindi ako maalam sa state sponsored ang visa. Kung hindi ka nmn choosy sa place I believe na madali kang makahanap sa mga area na hindi matindi ang competition..Ang importante e makarating ka dito. at kung Mapuan ka nmn e mas malaki ang chance na magkapenetrate ka...:-) alam ko maparaan ang mga Mapuans e..without offense to other school lang po. :-)...

yung mga civil/structural dyan na may solid experience send nyo sa akin CV nyo and I will try to send it sa HR nmin. Try lang natin. :-)

@vangievc thanks sa info... Mapua 2000 grad po...WA ang choice namin ni misis, hopefully e full of work sa WA for Mechanical Engineers with 10 years power plant and facilities engineering background...

@langgam37 bata mo pa. :-).. Actual '91 ako graduate, nakuha ko CE ng 4.5 years.balak ko sana na magtake ng Sanitary kaso natamad na ako..dineretso ko na sa pag take ng board exam.
Dami palang Mapuans dito. Hope all goes well sa mga applications nyo. Just continue to trust in the Lord. Strive hard and God will do the rest. :-)

@vangievc Wow 4.5 years... gifted po pala kayo. hehe. Sa Victoria din po ang destination namin. Kumusta naman po ang job market sa Victoria / Melbourne? I am currently working as a Quantity Surveyor here in UAE with an Australian construction firm - madali po kaya ako makakakita ng work dyan?

@langgam37 gifted child..lol hindi nga nagsusummer lang ako dati.actually bagsak ako sa CHEM 1 ha ha ha.

personally i think madali kang makakakuha nga work dito. In demand naman QS dito sa Melbourne but ofcourse si Lord pa rin ang nakakaalam kung ano ang pwedeng mangyari sa iyo dito.ang sa akin nmn ay gut feeling lang.he he he

BTW ang QS dito ay hindi engineer.that is another course. but it does not matter dahil OK nmn ang sweldo. kapg nga madami ka ng local experience baka mas malakihan mo pa sweldo ng engineer. :-)

@phrism I am not 100% sure sa processing. mine was 4 years ago. alam ko marami ng nababago sa policy..but you can do EA and IELTs at the same time. 1 year naman ang expiration ng IELTS. Unpredictable kc IELTS dami ding bumabagsak..yung iba umaabot pa nga ng 9 na beses na take lalo na sa nursing...kung ready ka na sa EA you can submit na din and wait ka ng lang sa result ng IELTS mo.hihintayin naman nila yun if ever.

Sa EA naman recently ginawa na nilang electronic ang processing(sa mga members ewan ko lang sa mga immigrants)..lahat ng records ko like professional development training etc I can record sa website nila.

Basahin mo na lang ito.

Kung ako sa inyo huwag na kayong mag-agent if you know na qualified kayo..you can check sa website ng australia immigration..pagtsagaan nyo lang ang pagbabasa sa mga procedures. Iguguide ka rin nmn nila. Ako lang ang nag-apply nung application nmin before.malaking pera din yung pwede nyong matipid...baka may magalit na agent sa akin nito a...advice ko lang naman po sa mga taong kayang magtyaga sa pagpaprocess. ha ha ha

@phrism Take the IELTS first tapos pwede ka na rin mag-prepare ng CDR for Engineer's Australia. You need to have at least 6 on each band to be able to apply for an assessment sa EA.

@vangievc that's nice to hear. Yup different course po yung QS, pero i think it is considered as an "allied work" ng Civil Engineering. Target ko pa rin naman is QS or Estimating job dyan sa AU, basta maayos ang sahod ok na yun.

@vangievc nag self application lang po kayo diba? around how muc po ba aabutin including plane ticket? then sa mga nagagent po how much? I just want to compare if there's a big difference..

nasend ko na sa peronal e-mail mo yung CDR. 2007 pa yan, check mo na lang yung latest format na required nila kasi baka naiba na.

ang difference lang nmn e yung bayad mo sa agent...according to some, libo libo sila magcharge for in fact e tayo rin nmn ang nagpeprepare ng lahat. sila lang nagsusubmit. :-)

I cant tell you the approximate expenses kasi kami family without plane ticket mga approx P250,000 pesos.Included na medical at 1 time IELTS exam dun....

Galing kasi ako sa NZ...One company here in Melbourne offer me a job and paid for my relocation expenses...tapos after a year ni lodge ko yung PR namin. So mahirap kong icompare...I am sure mayroon dito sa forum na makakasagot sa iyo. :-)

One more thing pa po pala regarding experience, almost 7 yrs na ang experience ko pero mostly site supervisions and estimates actually nag Land survey na din nga po ako eh, Is it possible for me to get a job as structural designer, though meron akong knowledge sa Staad pro kaso nga lang medyo limited cause di ko gaanong na practice ung designing skill ko, I really want to be in this line of engineering..

@langgam37 ayos at maraming Mapuans dito. CE Grad po ako 2002. Bago lng po ako sa forum nato. Sir langgam37, halos one year din pala inabot bago makakuha ng visa. Dumaan po ba kayo ng agency para makakuha ng visa or kayo lng po ng-ayos ng visa nyo. QS din po ako d2 sa UAE for 3 years. Bale palipat lipat me ng company kasi recession then wlang project kaya gusto ko mgtry sa Oz pra maiba nman. Nga pla sir, hingi sana me advice kung pano po first step sa pag-apply, kaaaprove plang kasi sakin kahapon na maging AIQS affiliate member eh. kaya sabi ko mas madali siguro kung mgapply sa Oz kesa Canada.

@redhorse welcome sa forum schoolmate! Yes, nag-agency ako kase before di ko pa nadi-discover itong forum na ito, Kung may time ka na magbasa ng magbasa di mo na kakailanganin ng migration agent. Through Engineer's Australia ako nagpa-assess kase Civil Engineer ang ninominate kong profession - so di ko masyado alam ang process pag sa AIQS. Nag-IELTS na po ba kayo? I trust yun ang next step nyo.
