    try to look at www.seek.co.au saan maraming listing for teachers. my brother-in-law is a teacher but he is born/ raised and educated in sydney. he's been teaching for the last 7 years or so in a govt school (High school math) and he says that if you find a teaching job mas better if public school cause of job security and benefits. sa private schools kasi daw fast turn-over and no job security. he also said na mas in demand ang teachers OUTSIDE the big cities. you will have more chances of employment in the regional areas of each state. pero regional/ rural areas it's good place to start cause lower cost of living. try nyo sa seek to check where pinaka-madaming listings:D

    @R_Yell Hi! Saang thread yun sinasabi mo? Sorry di ko napansin comment mo or I just forgot to reply. Layo mo naman sa Jakarta,maganda ba jan sa Surabaya? Saan ka magt-test, sa IDP ba? First test ko sa IDP, di ko pa sure if when ako mgre-retake, I'm still on the stage of contemplating, hahahha, kaya nga lagi ko visit ang site na to para makahugot ng motivation. Anyway, good luck sa test mo next week. Galingan mo. :-)

    @gemini23 : EHEHEHH...salamat mam...(i suppose ur female :)) still jakarta ka pa rin until now? kasi parang sa ibang topic parang ang understanding ko ay nasa OZ kna...

    mahirap ba ang academic? which part ang mas mahirap? kinakabahan na ako...mahal pa nmn...eheheheh sa IALF ako...maganda dito, mas peaceful kaysa sa jakarta, less polluted, good taste ang water, less traffic jam...

    wag kang mawalan ng pag asa hanggat pwude pa taung teachers makapasok sa OZ...at kaya pa nating ma-afford ang visa fee, ahahha....coz later on, tataas pa yan...

    anong nangyari sa experience mo? ano ung score mo sa 4 skills? share ka nman ng tips...sana maka band-8 lng man ako, ahahahahah....God, pls grant my wish...:D

    Hi po, I'm about to find out my options as an English teacher sa NSW... hehe medyo alanganin ako, because first language nila yun.

    @li_i_ren tama po kayo na mas maganda magturo sa public school. After ma grant ang visa, I'm registering sa DET for eligibility to teach, para mas malaki ang chances to be employed sa public schools...

    Hi,
    May mga na-meet ako na who used to be teachers sa pinas but they ended up as "Teacher Aide" dito sa Aus. Hindi ko alam ang reasons, maybe because kailangan pa nilang kumuha ng ilang units dito or kung ano pang requirements and kulang nila? Pero they told me na yung mga teachers natin are far better than the Aussie teachers here.

    kung malaki nman kikitain ko as a teacher aide, ok nlng...ehehehe...puwede ba taung magwork ng ibang field kahit hindi align sa degree and work experience natin?

    @sticktoexecute secondary english teacher ka po ba? Balak ko rin sanang magpa assess, elem english teacher kasi ako ngayon sa Pinas. I have been to Oz twice on Tourist Visa nandun kasi kapatid ko and she encouraged me to look for possibilities of working there as a teacher. Then i came across this forum and found the posts very helpful pero i still need infos about the process. I'm planning to have my ielts before the year ends.

    @R_Yell Yes, girl ako and yes I'm still in Jakarta. I went to Oz last June just for a short vacation. And from my experience there, parang ang hirap mag-start ulit lalo pa't ang mahal ng bilihin. Madaming westerners, parang ang tough ng competition lalo na't marami din s kanila ang magaling mag-English. Hindi naman sa dini-discourage kita, I'm just sharing my thoughts, maybe I'm wrong, so ituloy mo lang yan, I will watch your journey to Oz, at malay mo next month mag-IELTS ulit ako hahahhaa.

    Kung palagi naman English ang gamit mo at nakasanayan mo na ma-cacarry mo ang IELTS. Basta practice-practice lang, kasi tricky yung ibang questions at kapagod magbasa ng passages sa Reading, so dapat sanayin mo na sarili mo. I find Writing difficult, siguro if nakalungan ako sa practice at strategy how to do it. Speaking madali-dali na since we always have the chance to practice to speak English here in abroad di ba. Score ko sa IELTS L-7, S-7.5,R-8, W-6.....Sana nga maka-band 8 ka sa lahat ng 4 tests para malaki makuha mong points :-D Good luck!

    @gemini23 : salamat ah sa sharing at encouragement...ok lng sa akin maghirap from the start basta immigrant na ako dun...makakaraos din tau sa kalaunan...may kakilala ka dun? ano visa mo nang nagpaunta ka dun? sa akin nmn, wala ng problema sa accommodation, food at transpo kasi ung best friend ko willing na dun muna ako magstay hanggat ma stable ako. eh, kung may future na ang blue collar job dun kahit hindi ako mapractise ung career ko, ok lng kaysa nmn sa pinas ako or dito which i believe na still better pa rin ang OZ kaysa Indonesia.

    oo, lagi ako practise ngaun lalo na sa reading kasi parang ang hirap...scores ko sa practise 23-27/40...natatakot na ako...sa iba ok lng...sa writing nman gfamiliarize ko lng ung key points ng pagsusulat ng task 1 and task 2 at ung mga verbs. sana madali na sa akin ung writing kahit walang practise kasi may campus journalism experience po ako nung HS hanggang college. sana it will help me. basta ang worry ko ngaun, reading...hahahyyy, reading bat ba ang hirap lalo na sa list of headings and paragraph matching...cguro madali lng sana kung ang content/topic is functional eh kaso parang high-end ung topic hirap makarelate at hirap mag sink in sa understanding ko. :D

    ung sa listening bah, pano mo ginawa? sinulat mo na agad sa answer sheet? or sa scratch paper muna? minsan nawawala din ako pagnagsusulat ng sagot...timing2x lng

    @R-Yell kung hindi ka man makahanap ng work as a teacher agad agad cguro nga maganda mag teacher aide ka muna while at the same time e tapusin mo kung ano man ang requirements para maging teacher. After ma comply mo yung requirements nila, then pwede ka na mag apply as teacher. I have no idea kung magkano ang salary ng teacher aide pero sigurado ako it is much more than the salary ng mga teachers sa atin.

    Oo naman, pwede ka mag work ng ibangfield kahit hindi align sa degree and work experience mo. Flexible naman tayong mga Pinoy.

    Secondary English teacher po ako and a Philippine passport holder, I took the 475 visa pathway, state sponsored po ng NSW (RDA Murray), we had a migration agent kaya they just told me what to do eh. Sa state sponsorship kasi first tinry namin yung sa South Australia but I was declined on the ground that I did not have relevant work experience (kasi they were really looking for science and math teachers). Then NSW opened opportunities for state sponsorship that's why we grabbed it eventhough they only have 475 visa sponsorship.

    @mark00 You're an elementary school teacher pero ano degree mo? Kasi yun ang unang tinitingnan eh... if you graduated secondary education, yun ang inonominate na skill mo.

    @R_Yell Sa Listening diretso sa answer sheet ang sagot. Dapat talasan mo pandinig mo at wag kang ma-distruct kasi nakakalito minsan ang pacing ng recording. Muntik na nga ako sumablay sa Listening, see 7 lang. Malaki maitutulong ng practice2x. Last time less than a month lang ako nag-review, pero I made sure at least 4 or 3 hours a day. Gamit ka ng small clock when u do Reading practice para ma-timingan mo sarili mo. Nakakaubos kayang oras yung Reading.

    Yun naman pala me dadatnan ka sa Oz if sakali makapunta doon. Ako kasi as in wala, wala me friends, kakilala or relatives na matutuluyan,so what for???? Ang iniisip ko na lang yung longer benefit once you get there, at least pwede ka maging PR doon, dito sa Indonesia kahit gano ka katagl dito, wala PR status ano?

    Tourist Visa gamit ko nung nagpunta ako ng Oz last time.

    yun nga lagi ang problema.. Sa US minsan ganyan din ang case. Lalo na sa Thailand. Naging Teacher Aide din ako sa Thailand. Ang teacher don mga British pero mga hindi mga education graduate. Yung iba nga under grad pa. Hay buhay...

    IELTS REMINDERS

    Writing
    dapat block format, no indention. 10 words per line ang pagbilang ng mga examiners sa writing. So, sa Task 1 dapat makasulat ka ng more than 15 lines, sa task 2 dapat more than 25 lines. Pag underlength kasi 4 na agad score mo dyan. Dapat hindi ka gagamit ng mga can't, don't, won't dapat cannot, do not, will not.

    Listening and Reading
    Tama si Gemini23 wag ka magpapadistract. Pag nawala ka sa focus hirap humabol, practice lang talaga.

    Speaking
    Laging education, entertainment and people and topic sa speaking test. Task 1 sa speaking self intro. Lagi kang mag uumpisa sa "My full name is ........." 2 minutes yon. yung 2nd task sa speaking may speaking task card. Nakasulat doon ang question na sasagutin mo. Bibigyan ka rin ng piece of paper para isulat mo ang mga ideas mo sa loob ng 1 minute. Tapos mag uumpisa ka ng magsalita. Wag ka titigil hanggang hindi ka pinapatigil ng examiner ibig sabihin kasi hindi pa tapos ang oras. bale 5 to 7 minutes yon tapos may mga follow up questions pa.

    Goodluck sa mga mag tetake ng IELTS! kaya nyo yan. Walang imposible sa Dios.

    @sticktoexecute elem teacher ako BEEd with English as my concentration.. I have been teaching for almost 5 1/2 years. Based sa SOL, i need to nominate Primary Teacher since yan ang degree ko and my teaching experience is on teaching elem grades. Pero my problem is wala na sa SOL ang Primary Teacher recently, it is only included in the CSOL..so limited lang yung chance for the visa.

    Not sure but I think secondary and nominated skill mo... kasi that's the first criteria eh yung degree... fellow forumers can correct me if I am wrong...
