Hello Guys. Perst time ko mag post dito, kailangan ko mag post dahil gusto ko magpasalamat sa lahat ng taong tumutulong dito. lalo na sa mga matitiyagang sumagot sa mga tanong ng iba sa forum. Hindi ko ma aachieve ung scores ko sa PTE kung hindi dahil sa inyo.
I took IELTS April 2017 sa British L8-R6.5-W6.5-S5.5. I applied for a remark. L8-R6.5-W6.5-S7.5--kitams yong score difference ng speaking ko? haha. mga pangit sila. hehe.
Nag IELTS uli ako July 2017 sa IDP naman. L7-R6.5-W6-S7. Again, nagpa remark ako. L7-R6.5-W6.5-S7. Again may .5 na increase sa writing ko at mas ginalingan ko pa ang speaking ko pero 7 lang binigay, kaya sabi ko, ayaw ko na. kailangan ko ng ibang exam.

I seached for an alternative sa IELTS, nakita ko OET kaso sa Dubai at Oman lang yata meron sa middle east. E nasa KSA ako hahaha, I checked for PTE, ayun meron sa KSA.
I found this forum, dito ko lahat natutunan ang mga kailangan ko. 2 months prep ako pagka off ko nagaaral ako. pag off lang kasi sobrang pagod ang work at npaka toxic. I deactivated my FB for 2months though I opened it every2weeks sabay deactivate agad. Na coconsume kasi ni FB ang oras ko.

Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga taong nagpost ng mga tips nila at template dito. Yun ay sobrang menimemorize ko by heart. kay @Heprex , @TOROGI , at kay @batman kasi template nya talaga yung gamit ko.

Speaking. Kung ano ang tips sa forum at yung template dito sa forum un lang din ang ginamit ko.

Writing. nagpalit ako ng writing format during the exam. yung mock ko kay Steven Fernandez ang gamit ko, kahit hindi naman adv vs. dis. ang tanong ginagawa kong adv. vs. dis kasi un ang nasa template e, kaya after nung mock ko, mukang yun ang reason bakit ang baba ng Written discourse ko. Ang essay ko sa actual exam ay IELTS style at mukang effective naman from 47 na written discourse -->77, from 73 na writing sa mock to 79 sa actual.

Reading. akala ko di ako papasa dito. naubusan ako ng oras. 2questions left unanswered buti nalang first part ng reading ko mga fill in the blanks at drag and drop tapos rearrange, nahuli ang mult.choice mult ans at mult choice single ans. na maliit lang daw ang parang weight nun sa grade.

Kaya maraming maraming salamat sa inyo. Need ko lang ay 65 in each module, pero mukang kaya ko pala e superior hahaha. See you sa Au guys. sa mga mag bbridging jan, tara sabay sabay na tau next yr. hehehe

tanong lang po. nagtake kasi ako ng mock exam and I exceeded the time limit on speaking section so the timer turned red. nagexceed yung timer nung sinasagutan ko yung 2 essay questions. counted pa po kaya yung 2 essays ko or hindi na? baba kasi ng WD which is 47.

@emil1125, Hindi ko po nakuhanan ng screenshot pg mock test ko. I can re-write but of course will not reflect yung mga commited errors ko, because this re-write will be edited for sure with the assistance of Grammarly. haha!

Anyway, first time ko mka W89 sa mock test, i guess tsamba lng yun. I need to refine and write again before sa actual exam.

Writing task is challenging compare to Speaking. The speaking part it does not care much about content, the template does the job. While sa Writing, content must be relevant to the topic and argument, plus technical writing skills.

Ito ang na gather ko na guides (continously revising) which are kaya kung intindihan at gawin. Ng simula ako mg aral ng seryoso sa writing since Sept 30.

Paragraph structure
1. Ensure you identify the essay prompt topic and the main idea you will argue.
2. Quickly write mind-map and group it.
3. Introduction paragraph(followed Steven format), argument paragraph (topic sentence, supporting sentence, evidence/examples, conclusion. followed E2Language format), conclusion paragraph (followed E2Language format)
4. Apply "Signposting and transitions"

The advantage of using Transitions and Signposting is that your essay/summary will be readable and coherent, crucial for PTE-A program AI to comprehend our writing. I think so. hehe

My rules for composing sentence
1. Sentence Writing starter
-Using the 5Ws and an H
-Sentence Pyramids
-Sentence Patterns
-Who - Did What - When - Where

2. Sentence structures: Simple, Compound, Complex (at least 1 complex sentence in 1 essay, I think will contribute big points)
3. Sentence flow: Sentence 1: S+V+O > Sentence 2: S(Sentence 1 Object)+V+O. Everything related to the essay prompt. Your paragraph or sentence must echo the topic/main idea of your essay.
4. Check your essay prompt and mind map if you fill lost.
5. Collocations. Sabi ng E2, anything that sounds native English are valid. More reading. listening to podcasts, watch BBC news are recommended.
6. Apply synonyms if you have it. Avoid repetitive word.

For SST and SWT approach ko is find the topic sentence, supporting sentence, conclusion. Pero syempre ibang SST/SWT items hindi straightforward na mahanap ang mga ito. Best way to prepare for it is by collecting as much as possible ng mga passages from PTE at pag-aralan ibat-ibang structure. I believe kaya natin i master different patterns ng PTE-A.

@shuroro, same thinking tyo, haha, sa 3 mock exams ko, lagi akong inaabutan ng red timer and I think though it will not cut you off sa ginagawa, may impact sya sa scoring. Laging mababa yung mga CS scores ko sa first 3 mock, then I tried sa pang 4th mock exam ko na wag abutan ng red timer and it seems na tumaas yung mga scores ko.

@maggot0926, I think, makaka mura lang po sa PTE Gold kit kpag nag apply sa mga review centers nila since may discount price silang binibigay doon. Otherwise, nsa P3.1K po ang pricing sa mismong site nila, dpende pa po sa palitan ng PHP at AUD.

Isinave ko yung mga writing activities ko sa mock exams, stagnant and consistent sa writing = 77 yung scores ko. Any suggestions mga writer masters para maka 79+ man lang? GODbless.

SWT1:

SWT2:
A coffee drinker in San Francisco has little chance of ever meeting the small-scale farmer in Nicaragua who may have raised the original coffee beans. However, if the coffee drinker has bought "Fair Trade" beans, he or she has made a conscious effort to support the coffee producer with a fair wage. Goods that are certified as "Fair Trade" are priced a little higher than the market rate, with the premium routed to the small rural producer in the form of a slightly higher profit. The Fair Trade concept aims to bring small farmers a fair price for their products and to support sustainable and socially responsible production methods. Essay1:
Violence portrayed on TV and in the movies leads to an increase in crime in our society. People who watch violent movies are more likely to become criminals. Do you agree or disagree?
Ans:
Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate between people whether ferocity plays an important role in a dramatic increase of unlawful acts, or it is not affecting. Although some may claim that individual who watches gore movies will eventually become evil doers, my view is that it is unlikely to happen, so I disagree. This essay shall elucidate both sides of the assertion before deducing to an axiomatic conclusion.

Individuals are not becoming law breakers when watching blood scenes in television. There are several reasons why an individual will not become violators if they are watching brutal film. For instance, a citizen who watched the terrorists beheading an abducted hostage will definitely not try it to someone else, but they despised such cruelty. Thus, watching carnage videos are not a key factor why someone ends up in prison because of what they did.

Conversely, some people may insist that criminals were influenced by those blood movies. Those gullible person thinks that films affect the thinking of anyone. As an example, children are imitating what they watch, and they tend to give a try what they have saw. Finally, everyone is using their brain and will not do such an impulsive act to do a crime.

While there are strong contentions on both sides of the case, I strongly disagree that movies plays a significant role in law breakers lives. In hindsight, there are any other factors affecting attitude of a person aside from watching ferocious movies.

Essay2:
'It is as important for school children to study music, art and sport as it is for them to become literate and numerate.' How far do you agree with this statement? Support your point of view with reasons and / or examples from your own experience.
Ans:
Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate between people whether it is vital for a student to learn music, art and sport, or it is not important to focus on such matters. Although some may claim that it is not essential to become literate and numerate, my view is that studying music, art and sport has an impact to turn educated, so I definitely agree with this. This essay shall elucidate the assertion before deducing to an axiomatic conclusion.

Children who learn music, art and sport turns out to be more educated. There are several reasons why anyone attending music, art and sport schools becoming fast learners of anything. For instance, a child who is a product of talent school will eventually a top scorer in their class, and they tend to excel in anything. Thus, anyone can be great by learning music, art and sport.

Conversely, some people may insist that it is not such essential to learn extra curricular activities. Those gullible persons think that it is just a waste of time and money. As an example, anyone cannot focus on their major subjects because their time is divided. In hindsight, learners can get more talents when allotting a time on extra currilar activities.

While there are strong contentions on both sides of the case, I strongly agree that school children will become more literate and numerate if they invest some time on such activities.

SST1:
Ans:
The orator discussed about the different definition of talents. She mentioned that it is sometimes hard to answer, and ability can be compared to employees in the companies. Furthermore, the lecturer talked about the talent that is useful for high level of analytical ability. Finally, she said that the most important thing about it is to use one brain for analytic purpose.

SST2:
Ans:
The orator discussed about the vital role of vitamin D. First and foremost, she mentioned that it is sometimes essential for strong bone and teeth but absolutely that is not the main function of it. Furthermore, she talked about that vitamin D helps to maintain blood calcium level, and it is perilous if the count of it drops. Finally, she said that vitamin D used for enzyme and blood activity.

@Supersaiyan hmmm mock exam kasi yan sir kaya di siguro ganun ka accurate e, pero don't take my word for it kasi I did not buy mock exams. Essay looks good naman, pero gaano karami words ba sinusulat mo? I make it a point na during the exam I wrote upwards of 270. Baka sa summarize written texts naman ang issue? I used synonyms dun e para tumaas points ko sa vocab.

bro @MLBS, thanks sa feedback, ginamit ko yang ganyang style ng writing both mock exam B and sa 2nd actual take ko ng PTE almost same wordings din. Seems consistent sa score na bnigay 77. Haha. Di ko din ma figure out. Haha. Usually nsa 200 - 250 wordings na sinusulat ko. Not sure lang, ksi kay @dyanisabelle nsa 200-220 words lang ata yung kanya pero namanage nya maka 90 sa writing. Haha. Isang palaisipan tong si PTE.

@Supersaiyan ahhh case to case basis nga. Lagi ko kasi sinasagad yung limit e kasi dun maveverify kung malawak vocab + kung tama ang grammar. Less talk, less mistake, less score, at ganun din ang opposite. BTW SVA pala sir and grammar, baka sa actual exam di mo na na oobserve ng maayos yun because of the time limit.

Good day po, question lang po. Nagtake po ako ng pte last week and was able to get proficient english. Kaso need ko po sana maka superior english. Kung mag retake po ba ako, kung sakaling di ko pa din makuha yung superior english, pde ko pa rin ba gamitin yung nauna kong test scores? Salamat po ng marami sa sasagot.

nag-email ako sa PTE about it kasi di ko ma-gauge kung bakit ganun yung WD ko. iniisip ko dahil ba sa hindi nila ni-consider yung sagot ko at all or partial lang dahil nga na-reach ko na yung time limit nung nagsubmit ako ng sagot. balitaan kita bro.

@spoonized727, usually sa Read aloud section since mahaba2 ang time na binibigay dito to prepare but I discourage you ksi mawawala ka sa focus pwera na lang kung yakang yaka mo, isa yung read aloud sa may malaking score na bnibigay sa speaking and may score part din ata sya sa reading if I'm not mistaken, meron din atang ibang nagsusulat after ng Personal Intro abt self pero risky ksi sasabihin ni proctor na di pdeng magsulat hnggang di pa nag start exam sa orientation nyo.

nag exam ako nung Oct 28 lang. I got 81 sa writing naman. grammar ko 79,spelling ko 87, vocab 67, written dc 77.. nasa mga 240words lang po yun. ug iba xspelling pa kasi inabot nko sa oras. I dont think mas madaming word count mas malaking score. kailangan mo lang tlagang cguro hindi ma off topic.

@spoonized727 menimemorize ko tlaga by heart ung template ni @Heprex at ni @batman . kaya di ako nagsulat. pero cguro sa before ka mga read aloud. may alloted time ka basahin e. pwede mo cguro doon isulat,. kaso nakakakaba though I planned to write kaso waley naisapuso ko tlaga ang templates. haha
