    Good day po to all..i am a new member..tanong ko lng po..regarding english language requirement..

    will the schools accept IELTS and TOEFL scores that were taken more than 2 years ago? mataas po yung scores ko on both:

    TOEFL: speaking 29 writing 28 reading 27 listening 25
    IELTS: speaking 8.5 writing 8.0 reading 8.0 listening 8.5

    the problem is yung toefl ko was taken 2007, and ielts was taken 2009...

    nagaaccept po ba sila ng exception?

    for schools mukhang hindi pwede... pero for EOI SkillSelect, 3yrs na ang validity ng IELTS..
    why dont you find a school and then enquire.. baka nmn ma-impress sila sa taas ng score mo eh..

    hi, I'm new here.

    IELTS score= 7

    Applied to Subclass 572: Vocational Course in MEGA/Macquarie Institute with Certificate III in Business

    I applied through an agency here in CDO

    @paintmelovely
    You better follow up your agency, mega kulitin mo sila. Ang alam ko, usually all communications will be through the agent only.
    The other option is send an email sa visa processing, malamang binigay naman ng agent iyong reference details ng application mo sa iyo. Open mo with you've submitted required docs, ask if may kailangan pa silang ibang info to expedite your request. Explain mo na sayang iyong days na namiss mo sa school & if they can provide processing time.

    Depende sa sched ng course mo, you might have to defer enrolment pag matagalan pa sila.

    @Cheers25 thanks! ELICOS + B Nursing kukunin ko. Grabe kulang na nga ako sa oras kasi ngayon pa lang ako mag papasa ng application form to the university. May I ask, papayag ba sila na I am taking the ELICOS while studying B Nursing? Magkakasabay kasi ang schedule. Hayz. Ang tagal ng reply from the univ then hindi ako maasikaso ng IDP dahil puno ang slots. :(

    @avi http://www.decinternational.nsw.edu.au/documents/19483218/21790938/schools-brochure-english-oct12.pdf

    avi..nag email ka kay totoyoz if kaya bah ng finances if student visa yung hubby mu plus 2 kids to live in oz. check out the link above i gave you.. there's a lists of tuition fees sa PUBLIC SCHOOL po yan for international children who are on a student visa. kindergarten to to year 6 is about 9000 aud per year. i hope you can open the link cause there are lots of information there. international students like your children will not be able to access subsidize education in oz.. that's for work visa holders, temporary/permenant residents and citizens which can be free..bayad lang sila for uniforms.

    just saw this post sa wall ni totoyoz and i will comment if you don't mind. if you are both students.. finding a job is one difficult and you are only allowed to work certain number of hours. a student's salary or part time work is not designed to support a family of 4 like yours. most students like rommel (pasensya but you are a very good example) who is a 3 years BSN student in nsw.. he found a job a year after his first year. he is only allowed a certain number of hours while studying..he is an assistant in nursing and it pays above minimum wage pa nga eh. whatever he earns with his part time is good enough for good time/ dates or if he was on his own it can support him but even he would say that it is "just" enough.

    he doesn't pay rent cause his family lives here.. he said if he had to pay rent..it's quite hard. also, as students you're kids are not entitled to free education in oz. if you were entitled to something it would be good but if you are considered international students then you will pay talaga full price even sa public kasi you are not entitled to what the other kids are entitled like subsidy from the govt.

    rent.. you need to pay at least per week of 300 for all of you.. you will have a hard time finding a room to fit all of you if that is your plan unless you have relatives willing to do that for you. as most real estate properties will never allow that..you need at least a 2 bedroom house.. www.realestate.co.au or www.domain.co.au to check out rental prices in au.

    why not settle down first as a couple..then get the kids after ...? kaysa you all will have a financially hard time in oz..it's not fare for the kids din to encounter hardship on their first migration. get your affairs sorted sa.. give it 3-6 months then see if kaya nyo with your finances to have kids here.

    anyway, school sa pinas finish in march. school enrollment in oz for the kids, start in april/ may.

    think about it..pa unahin na lang si hubby then you and the kids can follow once hubby has a job, adjusted to school and work, and he can honestly say after inquiring about school/ rent/ bills (utilities) and other expenses that it is feasible to have a family 4 on a salary of a part timer.

    also.. i've just called centrelink.. children who are not residents are not legible for childcare subsidy like for daycare.. so like me im a 457 visa, i have to pay full daycare fee cause my daughter is not legible according to centrelink for subsidy. so daycare can be from 50 dollars a day to 100 dollars a day.. (believe it or not).

    so those who applied for residency are really lucky and that's very good for those with families.

    @avi hi.. depende talaga sayo kung pano ka maghahanap ng work madami ko kilala student gisa nadalian sila kumuha ng work - cleaning, kitchen hand sa mga resto, usually ang rate (15-20/ hr) karamihan cash basis., sa PCA (20-25/hr) pero madaming reqs na hinihingi police check, childrens check, level 2 first aid, and certificates pero yung iba hindi na naghahanap., tyagaan lang., 3 agency ako nakapasok pero wala pa ko client talaga nagaantay pa din., tyagaan lang at pasensya talaga., pero since bakasyon ko maghahanap ako ng ibang work na pwede yung cash basis., ;)

    @avi check these links out.. www.realestate.co.au or www.domain.co.au for rental properties all over oz. average rent is about 350 per week.. kasi di naman kasi pwdi 4 of you in 1 bedroom.. technically bawal po yan..pero if may kilala kayo here maybe it's ok or filipino owner yung house:)

    i live in sydney..my husband is in melbourne. i work as a nurse full time and my husband is studying to be a doctor here.

    @knight that's good news for those studying PhD or master's but not for those that are studying for bridging programs or tafe courses.. but good to know na they care enough for our kids kasi ang mahal ng school if di gov't funded. i have a 4 years old.. i can't get centrelink subsidy kasi 457 visa ako so i was told i have to pay full amount for daycare which is between 50-100 aud per day so im still looking for other options.

    open the link i posted above...may info dun about children on a student visa.

    cost of living in oz is not too bad if both of you are earning.. pero if part time plus with family.. i really won't advice it pero for those na may first hand experience, share kayo ng experience nyo.

    and also for those on a 457 visa.. how did you go about schools for kids specially in primary/ grade school? how much did you pay or how were you able to get subsidy? thanks:)

    Hi! everyone. i am new here on this forum. I am interested to migrate by studying in Australia. I'm currently working in Singapore. Been here for 3 years. My line of work currently is in Admin/Purchasing although I am a graduate of Psychology in the Philippines. I would like to ask first, where should I lodge my student visa? Is it better to lodge it here in Singapore or back home sa atin? Another thing, my aunt who lives in Pinas is the one who will provide me with proof of funds since my entire savings wouldn't reach the required financial requirement should I study there in Australia. A friend of mine told me it's best to ask my aunt to write an affidavit stating that she will be the one to 'sponsor" my studies there rather than she transfer a big sum of money to my account kase baka i-require that the money stays in my account for a long period of time. Anyone who can give me an info on how this should be done? What i have done so far is to register/apply for IELTS exam here in Singapore and I'm scheduled to take the exam on the 8th of December here. I will be doing self-study na lang kase it's expensive to register for IELTS preparation course. Any tips? I'm nervous about the Speaking test. Anyway I am vacationing to Australia during December holidays for 2 weeks. I applied tourist visa here and got approved. I almost got rejected because all the money I have was on time deposit and they did not want to honor it so I'm pretty sure they wont honor it as well when I lodge my student visa application. Luckily my Au citizen friend had sent me an invitation letter and my employment certificate showed my approved annual vacation leaves. That convinced them that I have intentions of coming back here in Singapore which I genuinely do. Hope you can provide enlightenment to me regarding my student visa questions...Thank u all in advance :)
