@kittykitkat18 , family of 4 kami. Nung nag apply ka may work ka na pala. Paano kung kararating lang ng Australia, wala pang local payslip at credit card, may chance ba makakuha ng unit?

@Lexi credit card in Oz pinakta nmin. Not sure kng acceptable ung sa PH. Hndi nmn mandatory ung credit card statement it so happen nsa list sya nung agent’s requirements. You will need payslips to apply for credit card not sure kng maapprove pag ala pa work

@Megger you can try to offer rent in advance - like 3 mos or maybe offer a higher rental and increase by 5 or 10 aud per wk and/or in advance as well. show you bank statements with significant amount of savings. Lets wait for others kng may nakaexperience makakuha ng unit ng new migrants. Nagstay kasi kme sa shared accommodation for 6 months. For the meantime, try other option of shared accommodation until makapagsettle and establish kyo dto.

@athelene sulit yan. Prepaid ako, 28/mo gastos ko for 16gb total (every week nagrreload ako ng 4gb). Wala din call/text but then bihira ko lang gamitin so okay lang. Data lang talaga kailangan ko haha. Kamusta naman cell reception ng jeenee?

hello, slightly off topic... before ba mag BM may kelangan pa ayusin with SSS, BIR, Philhealth, etc? nagccontribute pa rin kyo kahit nasa AU na?

@dyanisabelle I find that useful din yung unli calls and text, in case walang internet yung other person. Yung AUD 24/month is discount price, parang 5% discount from orig price. It's not much, but definitely a lot cheaper than 30/month ng Vodafone or other networks. So far OK naman yung service because Jeenee uses Optus network hehe. May rare occasions na nagddrop yung 4G to 3G/H when nsa train underground, but overall I'm happy with it.

@Megger, you can show your rental contract kung nagrerent kayo sa Dubai. Malaking factor to lalo na kung wala pang work. It can be used as a proof kung good tenant kayo. Kami eto lang ginamit namin, no bank statement and mas mababa din ang offer namin kesa sa asking price nila. Pero observation namin is madaling makakuha ng house during winter season kesa pag summer. Kaya siguro naging madali ang pagkuha namin ng house. And they do call din pala yun mga reference na ilalagay nyo sa application form kaya make sure na alam ng mga reference nyo na nilagay nyo sila sa form.

And be friendly sa mga agent. Kasi pag gusto ka nila, e mas malaki ang chance na tanggapin ang offer mo. Sila kasi magsasabi sa owner kung ok ka or hindi.

Hello po, just want to check sa mga nag BM na meron ba sa inyo nagpaship ng few personal items from Manila to Au? If so, is there any cargo company here in philippines that accepts shipping to australia? Thank you po sa mga pede makasagot. We'll be moving na this October and im just wondering if we can ship few things namen.

@Lexi okay naman, nasa website nila lahat ng forms, prepare mo na lahat ng kailangan para isang punta lang. As far as I remember merong form, affidavit (na kailangan i notarize) tapos copy ng visa grant kailangan. 1 month or 2 months yung unang sinabi sakin na processing time, pero may kakilala kasi kami na nakapag follow up so nakuha ko din yung cheque after 2 days. So di ko alam bakit ganun kabagal yung sinabing lead time nila (kasi kaya naman pala maprocess agad)

@athelene Hi athelene, magtanong lang po ako, kasi plan ko din mag student visa nagpaprocess nko.
1. ask ko lang pano ka nkakuha ng house or san k ng hanap? pinoy ba mga kasama mo or school accomodation? tips nmn para sa housing room or shared room.
2. about the (NSW Photo Card) plan ko kasi sa Melbourne, require ba to para sa mga student visa holder? or yan ba need ng mga student visa holder? sa requirement nmn ng pag kuha nyn kahit ano bang bank statement ipakita?
3. sana makasagot ka pag d ka busy. salamat ng marami.

1. I'd recommend finding a temporary place to stay (friends or relatives if you have any) at least for a few weeks while you look for a more permanent place to live. I just looked for listings at flatmates and scheduled viewings/inspections. It's important that you really want the place because some would require you to stay at least 6-12 months.

Looking for a place can take time, since rooms get snapped up quickly, especially if affordable. I'm moving to a flat closer to uni, so I'll be sharing the house with mostly international students. I've met a few of them and they're nice. If you'll be living with other people in the flat, I think getting along with them can also be a key factor in your decision.

I arrived middle of the year, so on-campus accommodation aren't available anymore. So depende talaga sa timing ng dating mo kung may mahahanap ka. Don't pay for any accommodation prior to your arrival; go and see the place first before deciding on anything.

2. I'm not quite sure kung ano yung equivalence ng NSW Photo Card (previously called Proof of Age card) sa Melbourne, but its purpose is to be an identification card, for those who don't have an Australian driver's licence. You can try to check Victoria's website if they have a Roads and Maritime Services Centre there (the one that processes both driver's licence and photo card) and if they offer a Photo Card. It's an optional ID, but definitely preferable than having to carry around your passport all the time.

Since you're going to Melbourne, I'm not sure if they will accept an Australian bank statement (not bank statement from Philippine banks) that shows your overseas address. You might have to ask in person (once you're there na), because some might say it's OK sa email or website pero pagdating sa Roads and Maritime Services Centre hindi pala pwede.

@carlo77 yup they are also allowed too not only those earning one. but below 12 will be signed by parents. nabasa ko lang din before pero di ko sure if required sila earning or not.

@nayabrayaj sa Qantas yun, 40kg ang included for migrants. Pero nung nagcheck kasi kami before mas mura pa din si Cebu Pac kahit binayaran namin yung 40kg na check in baggage, plus may getgo points din akong nagamit. Sydney yung flight namin

I'm planning to make my IE this September - not a BM yet, I want to relax first before things get hectic. Can someone provide inputs/ideas on where and what to do in Melbourne/ Sydney? I'd like to go as a "tourist" for now, just roam around and feel the vibe.

I want to go somewhere laid back just not too much, yung tipong masusulit ko naman un pamasahe & gastos. I know Sydney's a busy place but if there's something in Sydney worth the visit (aside from the theatre), I'd still consider

Note: I haven't really decided yet on where to do the BM (hoping Melbourne but will depend on where I can get a job, I'm an accountant/auditor btw :P ).

Inputs please - I'm a bit indecisive at this stage. Honestly scared but excited.

Hello po. IE po namin this October and hindi pa big move. Question po:

1. Sa incoming passenger card, ano po ang pipiliin sa (a) migrating permanently to autralia, (b) visitor or temporary entrant? Alam ko parang mejo obvious na yung answer pero just making sure.

2. Sa mga galing po ng singapore, pwede naman pong magdala ng irvin’s chips and fish skin? Idedeclare lang?
