@Cassey sa site po ba ng AHPRA makikita yong list of schools na nag ooffer po ng IRON? baka po pwede pa forward yong link nila salamat po
Hi Maam @Cassey ! I have a question. I am a graduate of Diploma in Practical Nursing here in the Phil. I am really confused whether I should try to apply for registration as an Enrolled nurse in Oz (It may be a waste of time and effort) or should I study Diploma in Nursing? Can you give me an advice po during your spare time if possible? Also do they credit subjects from our Transcripts? Thank you so much.

@margarettepaglinawan It seems that AHPRA does not recognize internationally quafied Enrolled Nurses... there's no bridging program for that and the recognized degrees are on the average 18-24 month program of Australian institutions. As such, you will need to enrol in one of those approved courses inorder to qualify for registration. As to whether some of your subjects can be credited, that is a prerogative of the school/uni you will be enrolling in.

@margarettepaglinawan Hi, i think you might need to study here if you want to become an Enrolled Nurse. You can ask your school of choice if they can credit your subjects. It really depends on their curriculum.

@jjlara I have received extension letters twice, last July 19 and last October 17 which was 2 days before mag-expire ang first extension ko (Oct 19), but just 5 days after that, I got my LOE. I hope you got yours soonest as well. All the best.

@Cassey Hi po Ms. Cassey, we called Deakin din po but can’t get clear answers. We’re just told by our agent that January intake is full. But yun May po ba full na din daw po?

@misskj I called their number for International Students +61 96274877 and that’s what I was told. It’s full already even for the June intake. If you check their website, it says closed as well.
You can check their website from time to time but have a Plan B especially that the new assessment will be rolled out next year.

All we know is AHPRA will continue to assess international nurses using the current guidelines til early next year. I am wondering what will happen to us nurses who have/will have a valid LOE but no available school intakes for BP next year.

Hi! Any ideas which schools still have open slots for early intakes in 2019? From reading this thread kasi, closed na most of the first quarter intakes.

Hi, I can only speak with regards to RN profession. Definitely may chance to migrate however it may be hard since wala siyang experience. Migration is based on points system. You need to at least have 65 points which nowadays isn’t enough to get you invited to apply for PR. If you want to estimate your points, there’s a points calculator here in the forum. Since he doesn’t have an experience, he needs to do a Conversion program and not a BP. This is a 1-2 year course depending on the school. Both of you can definitely apply for SV but you have to see who has a higher chances of applying for PR so as not to waste time. There’s a thread here in the forum about Filo Teachers practicing in Au, you might wanna check on that as well.

@Cassey ahh ok po, so pwede po sya dun sa conversion program., then after that, pwede n po sya mag aapply ng work as a nurse?
CasseyMelbourne, Australia Posts: 2,812Member, Moderator Joined: Sep 07, 2015
@amypilapil Kung may valid visa siya to stay after nung course, then pwede siyang magwork dito as a Nurse. For work sponsorship, kinukuha nila yung may at least 3yrs na hospital experience.
Once na matapos na siya, need niyang magregister as RN tapos magpaskills assesment sa ANMAC. After that kapag may enough points na, apply kayo ng skill select then antay sa invitation to apply for PR. Ang pinakachallenge nga lang is how you’ll be able to stay here in Au after the course to do all these. You might need to apply for another SV or go back to Ph.
