@hanny_k , yong list po dito ay medyo outdated na. So that you can move forward, if you really want to pursue the process, there's no harm naman kung you do the assessment. Yon nga lang may cost na involve. God bless.

I have a hypothetical question, if I study in any one of the "section 1" schools in the Philippines, and I leave the Philippines mid-course, would the subjects that I have taken be credited in the Australian school that I would go to?

@neonblaze99 sa pinas you can do that. Since sa ibang bansa, you have to know if the institution will allow it. Check with the school you intend to get into, kung ano policy in applying credit for subjects taken from other country.

@cacophony assessing bodies refer to the Country Education Profile (CEP) when checking the equivalence of the qualification against Australian. Bachelor degrees from DLSU is in section 1, meaning they are recognised as a qualification equivalent to an Australian degree. Therefore, you can claim 15 points.

@Heprex - I received my assessment today from ACS and the result is AQF Associate Degree with a Major in computing.

The following employment after May 2005 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code.

I saw kasi na nagappeal ka and granted yung bachelor's degree. Ano nisubmit mo for appeal to get the bachelors degree? Does it mean I can only get 10 pts sa education and 15 pts sa work experience?

My school is AMA computer university under section 2 with BS computer engineering/229 units and 2.2 GPA.

@patotoy not sure sir but this what I gathered. Only 4 yrs needs 2.0 GPA.

1. 4 years fulltime with 120-185 credits and an average of 1.00 to 2.00
2. 4 years fulltime and has passed licensure examination (which is not applicable to IT courses in the Philippines)
3. 5 years fulltime around 200 credits

that's what i know based from circle of friends na nagpa assess sa ACS
coming from section 2 schools. kung confident ka sa info mo, i-appeal mo, at least you tried.

@patotoy ok thanks sa info. will not go to an appeal anymore. mukhang di para sa akin. eventhough successful yung appeal ko just in case, I would still struggle to make my PTE superior and the EOI which is only 65 if I make the PTE as superior. kumbaga alanganin lahat kung itutuloy ko and involves more money. Not sure kasi with heprex if what he did to win his appeal. meri xmas..

@patotoy ok naman experience ko nasa 20 yrs na ako kaso binawasan ng 6 yrs pero pasok pa rin. Also, I'm a CCIE pero mukhang di nila niconsider yung mga certifications ko. sa education lang talaga which is not comparable siguro sa Australian standard.

@ heprex - ano kaya ginawa mo for the appeal dun sa ACS mo before? let me try baka may magawa pa ako. pero not considering na as of this time yung appeal unless na lang kung positive yung reply mo from your appeal at magawan ko ng paraan.

Hi, this thread is so helpful. surprisingly I am from Vietnam but I would like to do a Master's degree with the University of the Philippines Open University (section 1). I got a big concern, as I did my Bachelor degree from a section 2 university, so its only comparable to an Associate degree here in Australia. In this case, is my section 1 Master's degree still equivalent to the Australian one? thanks heaps guys

Too bad yung kaisa-isang assessing authority for architecture degree sa AU (AACA) is not "respecting"/referring to the section categories ng school. Apparently, even section 1 schools will have no chance of having their BS Architecture recognized sa AU kaya karamihan nag papa assess na lang as architectural draftsperson sa Vetassess. Buti pa Vetassess recognizes the section 1 schools for degrees.
