Oh okay po so 1 year binawas nila for qualification? Options ko po kasi magpa-assess either archi draftsman or ID. Hesitant lang po sa ID kasi baka magdeduct nga po ng years for qualification dahil archi ang degree ko. Thank you po for the info.
Gano katagal po bago lumabas ang result ng assessment niyo?

I attended an event a few weeks ago about Architectural Registration in Australia, and the CEO of AACA showed statistics of the number of people from various countries that applied for OQA, and the number of successful/unsuccessful applicants for FY 2018-2019. Out of the two completed assessments from the PH, only one was successful. No details were given about the credentials of the successful applicant, but that merely speaks how many people opt for the AACA OQA (at least for Filipinos). In the same event, an architecture grad from Germany shared his experiences about preparing the application for OQA, and it seemed like a really long and arduous process.
Many people from this forum have gotten positive assessments through VETASSESS, which they opt to do since there is the architectural draftsperson option. Nowadays, that occupation is on the short-term list, and only a few states are open to sponsoring for that. If there's a particular state/territory though that you want to directly migrate to, then you might have to go through OQA (if your experience is architectural design-related). The risk of getting a negative assessment is quite high, so many people won't recommend going through that route.
The other "easier" route (but is more expensive, of course) to migrate as architect is to take the AACA-accredited Master of Architecture program.

@SupahDan Not quite sure if this would be applicable to MEP, but I once met a Filipina here who also graduated from architecture, but her she found herself doing civil engineering drafting in the PH. Based on her CE draftsperson work experience, she was able to migrate to AU as PR (she didn't tell me if she had her credential/experience assessed via EA or VETASSESS though). You'll have to check which assessing authority you would have to submit an application based on the nominated occupation (if EA or VETASSESS). If you're still not sure, you can always inquire with EA and VETASSESS if they've ever assessed an archi degree for an MEP occupation.
@tootskie Different companies use different softwares, and the scenario is similar to the PH. Large-scale companies that can afford BIM softwares use Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, while smaller firms might still use AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3DS Max. Job postings/listings will typically indicate which softwares a certain company uses, so you'd have an idea if you'll be qualified or not before you apply.

Hello po, If anyone can help me in my future plans. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm a registered and licensed Architect here in the Philippines, just passed the LEA January2018. My fiance and I were planning to apply for a prospective marriage visa since she is PR na in AU. If my visa would be granted. Is there any chance for me to work on an Architectural Firm in AU? Ofcourse to help her cover our means of living if nasa AU na ako. Since hindi tayo accredited as an Architect in AU, what steps should we take to be a registered and licensed Architect in AU? Thank you po sa lahat. God bless!

@Arch_Fshr0006 There's always that catch-22 concept here in Australia (can't get a job without local experience, can't get local experience without a job). Local experience means Australian working experience. Once you arrive though, I recommend attending networking events to meet people from the industry, hopefully approaching them if they have openings would work out. I've talked to some industry professionals and archi students, many of them got their jobs from contacts/networks. Apply for smaller firms to gain local experience, before moving up to larger firms (if that's what you're aiming for).
Architectural registration in Australia is optional if you're working in an architecture firm, but it can potentially bump up your pay award (they have specific minimum wage for architecture industry). If you really want to get registered here, the "easiest" path (in my opinion) would be to study an accredited Master of Architecture degree (not all master-level archi-related degree is accredited by AACA; sadly mine is not), afterwhich you'll have to apply for verification of your degree.
And then, same concept as registration in PH, you'll have to do the logbook thing, and then sit for the exam, as well as an interview. Registration is quite a long process, so if you find a job after getting your PR, make sure your employer could be a good mentor and support during your registration process (I think most of them are, architects I've met here are really nice).
Studying as a domestic student (Australian PR) won't necessarily reduce your tuition fees, though---at least in the MArch degree. It's gonna cost you AUD 30,000-40,000 per year on a full-time study. Most of the MArch students I've met here are studying full time, only a few are doing it part-time (due to family or work commitments). If you're thinking on working "full time" and studying part-time, not all uni will have classes scheduled on the weekend. At USyd, MArch units/subjects are scheduled on weekdays only, and they're during the daytime, so if you're working, you might be able to work only 4 out of 5 weekdays.
I suggest you do your own research as well regarding the options most applicable (and amenable) to you.

Hello! Mag ask lang po ako for an advise. My Partner and I are planning to start the process to migrate sa Australia. He's an Architect and will be the primary applicant. Dun po ba sa pag request ng COE from previous employers, okay lang po ba na ang Job title nya is Architect/Junior Architect then and detailed job descriptions nya nalang yung connected sa Architectural Draftsperson? or kailangan palitan din and Job title nya? Thank you in advance sa mag re-respond.

It's not an automatic negative assessment, but maybe it's because only the archi bachelor's degree lang ang ipinapa-assess kaya negative. Their 5-year (3 year bachelor + 2 year master) archi degree kasi dito wala na sila yung mga minor subjects (Rizal, theology, English, math, etc.); puro archi major subjects talaga ang nasa curriculum nila, kaya siguro hindi nila ma-assess to be equivalent. If you had a master of architecture degree, maybe that would help?

Thank you po.
