Hello po,
Question po. Medyo malungkot lang kasi ako ngayon or depressed.

I've tried to call and talked to some head hunters in Australia. Sinabi ko sa kanila I'm interested on the position that they post in seek.au, then sinabi ko din na andito pa ko sa Pinas but I have already a PR visa and be there on March or sooner if they will hire. Ang sagot usually skin they preferred na andun na yung applicant sa Australia kse if the applicant is qualified they usually conduct an interview the next day when they contacted the applicant and also yung iba nmn immediate yung position so in one or two weeks daw ang start. So you need to take the risk talaga, but according to a friend of mine, meron at meron kang makukuha job in time. Just be patient and of course pray harder. PDe din nmn mag part time job muna dun or any job muna....

Wala po ba nagre-reply kahit sa email? Usually kasi meron online exams na ibibigay sayo or arrange an interview sa skype.

Try mo po change, or look for ways na mas maging attractive un CV and Cover letter mo. Worth a try diba po? :)

@LakiMasel , Migrating to Australia as Skilled Migrant is really a big risk, but it's worth taking. We, a family of 5 arrived in Sydney in 2010 with no known relatives anywhere in Aus, only a friend of a friend. We already have a life far more better than we used to have in the Philippines, let alone the very rewarding jobs me and my wife had before we moved here.

Four of my officemates in PH also migrated here couple of months after us, and they all have a better life here too.

For me, I'm a cautious optimist...so tutal marami ka inaalala, have a back-up plan as well. Yun bang pag hindi umubra tong plano, may isa ka pang course of action.

To err on the side of caution though, bring as much funds as possible.

I brought my wife with a baby on the way. Had to also leave a stable job and life in Dubai. There's no future for us there - forever ofw. I had to man up and take the risk. A minor speedbump in exchange for a better life for my firstborn is worth it.

Ako naman po..I ask the recruiter bakit ako na turned-down agad.

It is true that employers and employment agencies would normally not consider pursuing your application process not until andito na kayo sa Oz. I suggest keep your options open for other jobs, like start with temping jobs which if your lucky, company will finally hire you permanently. Dont Lose hope if you've been rejected with your applications. Believe that for every rejection, it leads to the job that God handpicked for you! Settling to a new country is definitely not easy...but is rewarding once you overcome that stage...Good luck!

Tyagaan lang talaga sa pagaaply. Update your resume sa mga jobsiters like monster, efinancial careers, recruit.com, jobstreet , etc. make it searcheable. Submit2 lang submit and be patient. Also resume to Headhunters and Company's resume bank.

Importante rin networking sites like Linkedin.

I understand your situation but migrating is something na kelangan mong paghandaan emotionally, spiritually and financially otherwise baka sa halip na magandang buhay ang mangyari sa iyo dito e puros lungkot at pagsisisi.

Kaya nga I decided to offer my place to those who are coming here as temporary accomodation for them not to spend their money right away coz hindi guarantee ang pagkakaroon ng work kaagad agad dito.

Yung mga binaggit ng mga kababayan natin sa itaas, all of them are true but it does not necessarily mean na it will happen to you. So have faith and rely on God's favour. This kind of situation is something that we need to lift up to the Lord. I am sure His plan is perfect for us. We will struggle but this is for our own sake....

Jeremiah 29:11-12 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

    God Bless.

Nasa States pa po kasi ako eh... :( Yun kaya yung dahilan? Nagsimula po ako 2-3 weeks ago po...
Actually in my opinion, 2-3 weeks is not enough. dito nga sa SG one month nakapost ang listing ng work then after ng closing date dun pa lang sila magshortlist. minsan nga it takes 3 months (dito sa SG) bago sumagot yung inaapplyan mo.

I saw that its almost the same may closing date din sila sa AU. so expect mo after a week ng closing date dun pa lang magtatawag.

    Dont despair.

If the agent is interested in your CV and they know that you can be qualified as candidate for the position, hindi na sila maghihintay pa ng matagal na panahon.

Parang baka mamadali kami masyado.

Look at it this way...You are stepping out of your comfort zone when you migrate. So given na magkakaroon ng anxiety, doubts, at loneliness on the way. Just think of the ****load of money you will be earning in Australia...that should make anyone happy hehe :D

@LakiMasel - i think tama lang naman na magresign and move to AU by december/january..
you have alteast 1 month to settle...familiarize yourself with the area... relax/vacation ng ilang weeks, find a place, do the required stuff for new migrants (bank account..TIN, medicare/centerlink, driver's license)

by the time mag january, ready kana sa job hunting.. pag dating ng february.. saktong sakto na..

employers and agents in oz prefer to hire applicants with physical presence in oz and with local experience even for 6 months, an added advantage unless your profession is rare that they cannot find one locally and needed to expedite hiring overseas. You can get the local experience by getting hired, casual work, intern or award (meaning your pay is as good as a training). Immigrants take the risk of coming to oz and finding jobs within their profession or not in their profession just to meet their daily living for a few months after arrival. But eventually, becomes successful in finding the right job that they want.
