    Hello all.

New account here. Nagbabasa lang ako before here.

Thanks sa mga tips dito! Sobrang kabang kaba ako and everything was going wrong. Busy rin ako with work so no time na ako to do the online course. Isa pa, ayoko rin kasi gumastos.

Siguro mga 80% ng study ko was done in the last 3 days, binging practice tests on Youtube. It's a terrible resource, to be honest. Ang dami kasing mali. For practice lang talaga sya sa note taking and dialogue recall.

Fortunately, I was confident that I already knew both languages well. I write professionally in both. So I thought, reading tips here and practicing on YouTube for hours and hours should get me over the line. And I was right.

    Just received my score this morning and I passed - 82.5/90 (Dialogue 1: 41.5/45; Dialogue 2: 41/45)

Good luck sa mga test takers sa January!

Also received my results today and, thankfully, naipasa! Yung CCL crash course lang ni @MumVeng ang resource ko. Super helpful ng 1:1 coaching sessions ni Ma'am. Highly recommended kung di kayo confident magself-study.

    Score: 77.5/90

Dialogue 1: Prospective tenant looking to inspect a house

Dialogue 2: Mother inquiring about joining a toy library.

Very common ang mga words. Areas of struggle ko ay scripting, or how to compose the translation, and following the narrative, kasi sometimes I focus so much on the segment I lose track of the events. So daming omissions and additions.

Pwede po ba makahinge ng tip sa note taking , please.

    Note-taking strategies I used:

    • Hatiin mo yung paper mo sa gitna so you have two columns. Sa left, make it "Eng > Fil" and sa right "Fil > Eng" (note that you can't write this hangga't hindi nagsstart ang exam mo, if you do that you may get a deduction or it may be considered a form of cheating).
    • Focus on keywords.
    • Write vertically. 1 sentence = 1 line sa papel.
    • Use shortcuts, for example instead of "and" gawin mo nang "&".
    • Related to the above, use symbols/punctuation. At every end of a sentence, sinusulat ko ang punctuation mark — indicator ko yun na that's where the sentence ends, and it's either a declarative (meaning, nagtatapos sa tuldok) or an interrogative/imperative (meaning nagtatanong or nakikiusap) na sentence. It helps you remember how many sentences are in the segment, so you know how to compose your translation.

For example, if this is the segment:

We spoke to the other witnesses – the teller and the manager. However we have yet to ascertain your whereabouts when the crime was committed. Could you please take me through what you did on that day?

My notes would look like this:
    1 spoke witnesses teller mgr.
2 but idk whereabouts when crime.
3 pls walkthru doings on day?

What I've found important is to take note of conjunctions as well (and, but, so, however) kasi it helps you connect the sentences so you get the idea/gist of the segment na tinatranslate mo. If mayroon kang maisip agad na easier/appropriate substitute sa isang word, go for that — for example, I just noted "but" kahit sa segment, ang sinabi ay "however". Same lang kasi sila ng kahulugan sa Filipino.

Best thing for me is to organize your notes para talaga di ka malito.

Only once is best, pero if you really need it and you think repeating it would help your translation, go for it. I used 2 repeats sa 1st dialogue, and only one sa second.

Good Day po sa lahat  Please allow me to bring up this particular post from "Iscah Australian Migration" facebook page. Sino po dito sa inyo ang may additional na information, thoughts, or advice whether this is something that we should be concerned about. For me, I'm a bit worried dito kasi kasali ako don sa first batch ng ONLINE NAATI CCL Test last March 2021 na gumamit ng "ProctorExam" which is a web-based infrastructure for remote exams.

Di po ba yung NAATI, if you're here in the Philippines, online lang po talaga ang way to get it? So ang meaning po ba niyan baka hindi siya eligible kasi through online lang siya?

^ yung sinasabi po dito ay patungkol po sa PTE dapat po ksi sitting yung pagssulit sa PTE at ndi online wala po itong ugnayan sa naati

Took the exam today. Got the same topic.
Dialogue 1: use two repeats, but Karamihan na translate ko ng maayos.

Dialogue 2: use three repeats. Dito ako worried. Going smooth ako hanggang segment 4, kahit na ng repeat ako meron ako ibang sagot na nautal ako.

Took the exam March 3. Just received my results this morning - I passed!

    Here's my experience:
Preparation - I'm a lurker of this thread and asked the help of Ms. Venie. Before availing her course, may pre-assessment call kami and she told me na kahit wag na ako magtake since ok naman daw ako and need lang ng practice. Binigyan nya din ako ng option to avail yung "Practice more" course na lang. I was really tempted to self-study (para makatipid na din) kaso wala akong mahanap na matinong reviewer sa Youtube so I availed the Practice More courses. I actually liked our 1 on 1 coaching sessions kasi maguguide ka talaga sa preferable way to answer and mas maging confident ka sa dialogs. Kaya in my opinion, kung kahit may konting doubts ka sa pagrereview (naiisip ko din kasi na if babagsak ko sayang ang 800 AUD huhu), avail mo na yung service ni Ms. Venie.

Exam Proper - tig 1 repeat ako each dialog. topics:

    • Tenant inspecting house
    • Mother inqiring to join toy library

Sa mga future exam takers, kunin nyo po ung test course ni Ms. Venie, maganda approach nya papalakasin nya loob mo na makasagot ng tama.

Pray first bago mag exam, and then Focus.

    Exam Proper:

    Dialogue 1: Tenant inspecting house

    • I have used 2 repeats here, may mga words na di ko alam tlga ung Filipino word ang sinagot ko na lang ung English word. meron din ako kaunti na mali pero di ko na pinansin para di mwala sa focus.

Dialogue 2: Mother inqiring to join toy library

    • Dito ako worried, kasi naka tatlo akong repeats pero I make it sure na nasagot ko ng maayos, kesa wlang masagot. meron din akong response na nautal ako.

    Salamat sa taas.

Nagtake ako ng exam kahapon, April 13. Wala ako masyado time para magprepare kasi need ko na mag exam ASAP.

I reached out to Ms Venie 7 days prior to the exam date (which is not recommended btw hehe) kasi cramming na ako. Buti nalang talaga at nag avail ako ng course niya kasi madami akong natutunan at dialogues na pagppractisan. May kasamang coaching sessions din ang courses ni Ms. Venie at bibigyan ka nya ng maraming tips. Inaantay ko pa result ng exam ko, God-willing sana pumasa.

Sa mga gusto magbook ng courses ni Ms. Venie, ito po yung link. Mabait siya and approachable. If you don’t have paypal, don’t worry kasi may ibang payment options siya.

God bless po sa ating lahat!

Ito yung topics ng exam ko kahapon

    Dialogue 1:
Babae na nag iinquire sa migration agent. Gusto niya dalhin ang nanay at sis nya sa AU

    Dialogue 2:
Nanay na kausap ang employee ng isang sports center. Gusto i-enroll ni nanay ang anak nya doon.

    Sana makatulong :)
