Honestly, following your queries here, medyo kalat ung mga tanong mo and I can feel you're lost, baka gusto mo ng i-consider mag agent.

@Janry Yeah, look for your nominated occupation here: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list. Once you find the closest match sa list, makikita mo rin dyan available visa options mo—if you're going for GSM. If you're going for work sponsorship, that's really more a game of luck I would say since the local workforce is prioritised, and businesses have to provide proof na wala silang ma-source locally hence the sponsorship of an offshore/foreign worker. So you need to apply and look for employers, if yan ang gagawin mo. These are two different paths: GSM and work sponsorship.

If GSM ka, a "freelancer" is just a generalised job title/setup. You need to be more specific. Ano bang ginagawa mo as a freelancer? Nagf-freelance ka as what? For example, there are freelance photographers, writers, designers, etc. Ano yung sayo?

@caspersushi24 Anung salary certificate?

    First Employer ko:
Document supplied is not a payslip - internet money transfer - please provide tax invoice with your name and details and also bank statement showing credit in your account - minumum 2 transactions are required

    Second Employer ko:
Document supplied is not sufficient - payslip shows invoice payment - please provide a statement as noted below or taxation records

You are required to show bank statements for the corresponding tax invoice credits for each of the employments.

****At ito namn ung mga requirement, either:

    Payment evidence:

Payment evidence can include one of the following types:

Pay slips (ideally your first and last payslip); Minimum 2 payslips
Taxation Records of Assessment (bearing company and applicant name)
Bank Statements showing at least two salary payments, your name and the employer's name; OR

Employment-linked insurance / superannuation records (bearing company and applicant name).****

You've mentioned that you're a freelancer. Typically you would be issuing invoices to your clients (your employer) about the work that you do, whether it's per-hour or per-project basis. The invoice is a proof that you are offering a service to someone and that you expect to get paid for it. It's similar to a timesheet/payslip when you're employed in a company, where you see the hours you've worked and hourly/daily wage.

When I do my freelance work I would issue an invoice to my client that will include the my details, my customer's details (company name, address, contact numbers), description of work and the associated cost, plus mode of payment (bank transfer and terms of payment). After I get paid, I would issue a receipt to the client to acknowledge that they've paid me, so both parties have tax invoices (I have proof that I rendered a service, and my client has proof that they hired me).

Do you not have the same set up with your clients? Receiving money in your bank (or Paypal) monthly doesn't really show a work history. I.e., a friend can send me money every month, but those payments doesn't automatically translate that I'm being paid for work.

Bank statement in the Australian context is an official document sent to you by your bank, about all the transactions pertinent to your account. So any money you've received and taken out (or withdrawn) will reflect on this statement. If you've received payment for something, usually the name of the person/entity that paid you will reflect on this statement.

GSM = General Skilled Migration. Walang freelancer visa under GSM, pero if you secure a PR visa under GSM, I think you can work sa Australia as a freelancer. I think you are a bit confused, or baka I'm not getting your question. Ano nang pinasa mo, VETASSESS skills assessment ba?

If freelance photo retoucher ka, ang equivalent occupation mo under GSM siguro ay Photo Developer, something like that. Walang merit kung freelancer/self-employed ka or employed ka, kasi eligible naman yan basta masubmit mo requirements for skills assessment. So if your question is if may chance ka kahit freelancer ka now, yes, IF you nominate the closely related occupation and submit substantial documentation to back up your work expi as a freelancer.

And wala. In Progress means assigned na yan and tinitignan na, so you can only wait, I'm afraid. Check back in 3 months from date na sinubmit mo, kasi yun ang usual processing time ni VETASSESS. Although recently mas tumagal.

Also, if you are a freelancer, you technically do not have an employer, since di ka employee. Yung US company na you work with is your CLIENT, not your employer. With freelancing, you employ yourself (self-employed). Might help with the confusion.

Nabanggit mo a few posts back na Vetassess has already provided comments.

If I understand it right, I think @Janry is asking whether they can continue to work as a freelancer for a US company while being a PR in Australia. Basically, working for a non Australian employer and I wonder how the tax rule works for this. @Janry, if ever this is allowed make sure to register as self-employed and pay the taxes in Australia, otherwise you may be putting yourself in a difficult situation once you intend to apply for the citizenship as one of the things they will look at to test your link to Australia is if you have a job in Australia and your income tax payment (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/become-a-citizen/permanent-resident#Eligibility).

I'll try to simplify everyone's statements kasi naguguluhan ka ata:

    1. Skills assessment
    2. English exam and Filipino CCL exam (Filipino exam optional, depende sa points at budget)
    3. Lodge Expression of Interest and wait for invitation
    4. For visa 190 at 491, pag na-invite asikasuhin mo yung nomination approval
    5. Pag na-approve at may Invitation to Apply for Visa ka na, lodge visa application
    6. Medical and NBI/police clearance

Di talaga yun recommended, unless kaya/gusto mo talaga. Pero ang pagapply ng skilled worker visa (GSM, yang ginagawa mo) would cost 300k halos from start to end. For GSM ito ah.

Then kapag okay na, magsched and prepare ka na for IELTS or PTE.

I took up BS Aircraft Engineering, and almost 6 years nang working as Technical Writer. Anyway, I don’t really want to give up my AU dream so I thought if makakahelp ba if mag take ako ng Master’s degree from a Section 1 school? Once done yan, will apply ulit for an assessment. Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks!

Anong reason for the negative assessment?

Thank you po.

Hello po. Gusto ko po sana magtanong about sa skills assessment for Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages. Bale ito po yung history ko:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education major in Special Education (4 years, parang trimester din kasi may summer class kami lagi)
    • Graduate Diploma in Language and Literacy Education
    • Certificate in TEFL/TESOL (150-hour online course)
    • Licensed teacher in the PH
    • May special teaching license ako sa Japan (ENglish subject for SHS students)
    • English teacher for primary students in the Philippines (2 years)
    • English teacher for SHS students in Japan

First question, paano po magpa assess ng credentials? Like paano po malaman kung comparable ba to an Australian degree yung course ko sa PH?

God bless us all! :)

@Janry I looked at your nominated occupation in the Skilled Occupation List. 187 and 494 visas pala yung pwede sa iyo. After you get a positive skills assessment baka dapat maghanap ka na muna ng employer in a regional area who is willing to sponsor you, bago ka gumastos sa English test.

Nakaexam nanga pla ako sa PTE last year mga Sept.

Ahh, so yung tanong mo pala is if may visa type ba specifically for freelancers. Ang alam ko walang visa specifically for freelancers, unfortunately for us Filipinos. Either skilled migration visa or employer sponsorship talaga, if work ang habol mo. Sa Western nationalities kasi mayroon silang parang working holiday visa, yun pwede ka maging freelancer or work while on holiday sa Australia. Pero for your nominated occupation, mukhang regional sponsorship ang available, gaya ng sinabi ni @maguero. So hindi yata nag-aapply sayo yung pag-lodge kaagad ng EOI and so on. Baka good to try na maghanap ng possible sponsors sa LinkedIn or seek.com.au?

Not sure how much mga consults na 'to, I've encountered free ones from My Australian Life/Carmine before. I think that's why ni-recommend sayo ng agent na inask mo before ang student visa route, dahil sponsorship visas ang available for your nominated occupation.

Wala kasi yun sa pagiging freelancer (self-employed) or company employed. Technically pwede ka naman mag-work as freelancer / independent contractor in AU as long as you have a working visa.

Yeah, this. Pwede kang freelancer sa AU once may valid visa ka, pero walang ibang special way to get a visa as a freelancer. That's why lahat ng sumagot sayo is redirecting you to focus on skills assessment para masecure mo yung visa na need mo. Hope we are helping you.

Pointing out as well na the only visas available to the Photographer's Assistant occupation are 187 and 494. Pareho itong regional employer-sponsored visas. If you are able to get either of these visas, kailangan mong magtrabaho for a certain period of time as an employee of the company that sponsored your visa. Hindi ka pwede maging freelancer agad dito. For 494 in particular, you can't even change employers until maging PR ka.
