Hoping may sumagot sana:

    1. Did you change your location in LinkedIn and Seek to the Australia kahit di pa po kayo nagmigrate?
    2. What job search platforms did you use?
    3. Is there a way to hide the location from people on LinkedIn in the Philippines?
    4. If you have highly recommended formats for your resume and cover letter, hope you could share po yung links.
    5. Is there a way to secure an Aus mobile number while in the Philippines, like if may kakilala kami na nasa Aus right now at makikisuyo kami to send thru parcel yung sim (activate muna sa Aus bago ipadala)? Para makasecure na kami ng Aus number and register to the necessary services. Is this possible po?

Thank you so much and God bless us all.

Related to #5, anyone tried purchasing a Telstra esim while in the PH? :)

Thanks, my AU number (physical sim) works fine sa Pinas. Strangely, I get texts and OTPs din kahit wala nang charge yung sim. Auto-roaming din siya with partner telco (Telstra = Smart). Curious lang if anyone tried buying an esim from offshore hehe :)

Is it possible?

Yes, possible and considered na sya as first entry. Makakaaffect sya in a good way, since kahit babalik ka ng Pinas, start na yung pagbilang for your citizenship eligibility.

Considered as first entry na yan once umapak ka sa Aus kahit 1 day lang. Di yan issue sa citizenship, basta mabuo mo 4 yrs na stay before applying

Nakapagbigmove na rin po ako nung 2nd week of April, tapos nagstart ako magapply ng work after 2 weeks, the next day, may kumontak sakin na company at ayun hired narin sa wakas, mabilis ang process dito, parang 2 days lang nagawa ung initial, final interview at job offer, di rin sila barat (Mining company, Oil and Gas experience ko sa SG , kinonsider nila) binigay nila ung asking salary ko , kaya sobrang thankful talaga.

1.) TFN – received via mail after 1 week
    2.) Medicare – waiting
3.) Drivers Licence transfer – Awaiting exam
    4.) White Card – completed
5.) Bank – Commbank, nag open kami 2 weeks before arrival.

Mga kelan kaya dadating yung card natin tama ba 4-6 weeks daw inaabot bago dumating card so possible 3rd or 4th week ngayong May bale no? If you will buy it cash, wala ng problema yan :) pero if loan, ako din mga after a year ako bumili. nag down ako half nung amount nung car. other half financing, hiningan ako ng pay slip at yung parang ITR nila. baka mahirapan ka ma-approve since I think hindi ka pa regular? and since less than a year ka pa lang, never ka pa nag file ng tax return diba? pero I think subukan mo lang. depende naman talaga yan sa down payment mo.

Hello everyone. Yung nag big move po this year. Ilang weeks po bago dumating yung medicare card number? Salamat po

Nagsend din ako ng application via email nung April 24, as of now di ko pa rin narereceive ang medicare card ko. How about you sis?

Tumawag ako sa Medicare at hindi nila malocate application ko last 19th of April.
Nag instruct sila na mag re enroll uli ako then nag attach ako ng screenshot of my previous enrollment in a pdf format together with my medicare form, visa and passport. After three days from the date of second enrollment tumawag po uli ako to confirm kung nareceive na nila ang aking second enrollment, at naging okay na sa system nila. Received na daw and mag wwait uli ng 28 days. Yun lang best way para lang maiproceas medicare care kaya no choice. Need mag wait uli hehe

    Hello!

Sana matulungan ninyo ako sa tanong ko.

I was granted a 491 Visa from South Australia. As part of my Big Move, I plan to visit my brother in Perth, Western Australia for a family vacation and then get a flight there.

I asked CFO for the PDOS certificate but they can only give it to 189, 190 and 191 Visa holders. They refer me to POEA/DMW to get Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).

I went to POEA/DMW but they could not give me an OEC since I have no employment contract. They referred me Bureau of Immigration (BI).

I asked BI via email (wala kasing tumatao sa Booth nila sa POEA/DMW) and replied that they could "not allowed to perform pre-travel assessment as departure formalities can only be conducted by the Immigration Officer upon your actual departure at your port of exit".

However, kindly be advised that pursuant to the Department of Justice Memorandum Circular No. 36, s. 2015, passengers travelling for the purpose of employment are required to present the following documents upon departure:
    1. Valid employment visa
    2. Valid POEA/ DMW Overseas Employment Certificate

My question is do I really need #1 and #2 for a 491 Visa?

    Thank you po sa sasagot.

For those asking, ito mga pics hopefully to inspire at ma-renew ang faith, kung medyo nababagot na maghintay (like me). Ginawang blog eh noh! First time to visit Australia so pasensya na sa saya 😆 Pero may mga nakapagtanong kasi so share ko na lang here hehe:

    Sydney
The Opera House at night—so beautiful!

Bondi to Bronte coastal walk, went here solo and commuting was really straightforward. Just hop on a bus and sit for less than an hour, and boom, beach! Nakakapanibago ang "coastal walk" as a concept but man, what an experience! Parang nadagdagan yung buhay ko ng 100 years, hahaha.

Yung Opera grounds, sobrang nakakatameme sa lawak at pagka-open. I went here every day to watch the sunset and mag-chill lang sa grounds, nakaupo kung saan-saan.

The whole Circular Quay to Milsons Point harbour edge was just beautiful. Mapa-araw o gabi, ang ganda talaga.

    Melbourne
Napaka-walkable, nakakaloka! Kahit na up/downhill, keri pa rin. Ang dali rin ng buhay tram! My commutes never took more than an hour, ever, kahit nung mga moments na nawala ako dahil maling train nasakyan. Ang daling bumalik.

Melbourne's greenery and parks were my favourite. Mas chill kaysa dun sa Sydney, siguro kasi mas onti tao? Pero may pagka-probinsya feel si Melbourne for me kahit major city siya.

Feel na feel ang autumn sa Melb! Yung weather and vibe.

Medyo underwhelming sa akin yung tourist spots ni Melbourne, pero I get the appeal of the city talaga as a place to live in. You come to appreciate each spot sa ambience. Where Sydney feels like The Big City, Melbourne feels like your own little city.

Keep the faith lang, these two cities will be our home soon! 🫶🏼

San mo po mas prefer, Melb or Syd? I've only veen to Syd and Adelaide, pero mas prefer ko yung perks ni Sydney

I really loved the coastal walk. We don't have enough spaces to take long, leisurely walks (safely and without a long commute/drive) in the Philippines, so the fact na easy access sa napakagandang nature si Sydney is a big win for me.

I personally like the Melbourne lifestyle—fit for me yung vibe, weather, walkability, arts scene, transpo, and parks. I think ibang level yung infrastructure ni Melb, hehe, isang kembot lang pa library to study or work. But I also like Sydney's outdoors and my connections are NSW-based 😄

I think it really depends on your personality and priorities kung saan mo mas prefer.

Just in case gusto nyong makasigurado, you can email ARIEL CRUZ acruz@cfo.gov.ph asking for confirmation that 491 visa doesn't need a CFO.

I am planning to migrate din for the same reason in the first paragraph, and I wanna live on my own din. Never been to VIC kaya mas biased ako ngayon sa NSW, pero saan mas maganda ang nature between the two?

I personally like the Melbourne lifestyle—fit for me yung vibe, weather, walkability, arts scene, transpo, and parks. I think ibang level yung infrastructure ni Melb, hehe, isang kembot lang pa library to study or work. But I also like Sydney's outdoors and my connections are NSW-based 😄

I think it really depends on your personality and priorities kung saan mo mas prefer.

Sa google ko po ata nakita tong post hahaha namiss ko lang bigla kahit I just went there last March.

I am planning to migrate din for the same reason in the first paragraph, and I wanna live on my own din. Never been to VIC kaya mas biased ako ngayon sa NSW, pero saan mas maganda ang nature between the two?

Every turn, picturesque tipong gusto ko kunan ng litrato (that's when I knew and claimed that I will live in Australia someday). Kahit nasa sentro ka na, as in CBD area ang ganda ganda. Nakadagdag kasi talaga yung weather rin e.

Havent been to Melb (first time in the coming big move which we have not exactly set when), but based on Googling (lol), you need to drive to reach the great outdoors. Lang coastal walks dyan within or near the CBD. We chose Melb for the long term. We felt sobrang crowded na ng Syd kase (of course, relative to other cities in Oz). Like unquestionably, lahat ng tao gusto dyan tumira. :D

Exactly 1 month after kami dumating.
These are the things that we did after we've arrived:

    1. Getting a Sim Card
    • Initially bought Optus $2 sim and $30 promo
    • We moved to Coles Optus just yesterday for $2 sim and $20 promo mas mura kasi hehe
    1. Opening a bank account
    • Commbank - registered offshore days before our arrival
    • Requirements are Passport and Visa
    • They will issue a paper regarding your account details (use this for getting a photoID)
    • We were able to deposit over the counter even if wala pa card.
    • Our cards arrived after 2 weeks.
    1. Tax File Number
    • registered online (https://www.ato.gov.au/iar/#beforeStart) saw this link here in pinoyau.
    • Received our TFN 1 week after, via post/mail.
    • Updated the TFN in the commbank app after receiving the TFN
    1. Medicare
    1. PhotoID - went to NSW Service
    • Requirements are Bank Acct Details, Passport, and Visa
    • I got the 10year validity ID which is $102 kasi di ako marunong magdrive at wala pa balak magdrive haha
    • The 5 year validity is cheaper, not sure on how much this is
    1. Gala gala muna, we were able to buy coats/puffer at Costco (yun yung mejo afford na nakita namin pero mahal parin omaygad)
I applied as secretary/admin staff sa mga construction firms. You can still apply sa want nyo na job naman.
    1. Got a job
    • Pero looking for a job parin si spouse but atleast may pang gastos na kami
    • The company hr online form recommended the Super company/bank
    • The only requirement they asked from me was my bank account details and TFN
    • No police check required (unlike pinas na need ang NBI), good thing we didn't get one.

    Tips:
    • Bring lotion, lip balm, and petroleum jelly. Our skin dried and had rashes in the first 2 weeks.
    • The temperature went down to -2 during our 1st week HAHA BRING ALL YOUR THICK CLOTHES.

Things na di pa namin nagagawa:
    Centrelink
    Makakita ng snow

Here are some photos of our gala-gala,

    Bondi Beach

    Blue Mountains

    Mount Annan Botanical Park

Is it possible?

Staying in Australia for a short time to activate the PR visa is not a problem.

Citizenship eligibility is based on 4 years of continous and physical residence in the country, and you must be a PR for at least 12 months prior to your citizenship application. Your 2 week stay in Australia will count towards residence requirement as long as the total time you spent overseas is not more than 12 months (in total within that 4 years). If you stay for 2 weeks for your first entry then live overseas for over a year before returning to Australia, your initial 2 weeks here will not count for the residence requirement (you will start counting from the time you return to Australia).

I am not much of a wilderness guy, as long as I am near the trees/open air, I am happy. My favorite experience was walking from Coogee to Bondi, I felt really calm 🥰

Kamusta naman po ang buhay Melb? No regrets? Hahaha I heard the weather is messed up

sa mga nakapag big move na, ano po ang mga tips niyo na need na bilhin sa PH kasi either expensive or mahirap hanapin sa AU (maliban sa pinoy food brands), e.g. make up ba, office wear ba? thanks po in advance sa mga sasagot. :)

    Vivid Sydney - Opera House

    Barangaroo at the Ferry
(This last photo had my eyes teary, Tears of Joy and Sarap ng Pinaghirapan)

See you guys in Oz ♥

    Must feel incredible ❤️

In person ba ang job hunt/interview mo, and what's the timeline (from applying to your first day on the job), weeks lang?

And anong pinagstayan nyo sa unang pasok? 🙂

Congrats! Can't imagine the joy and relief.

congrats! Civil Engineer nahanap mong work or admin staff?

Hi, meron po ba dito may flight din MNL-SYD via PAL on June 27? Magtatanong lang sana po ako if may same situation gaya ng saamin. May email kasi kami natanggap kanina po for seat re-assignment, and first time flyers po kami so nagulat din kami and first time namin maka encounter ng ganto sa big move pa namin. Nagttry naman ako as of now magcontact sa helplines ni PAL. Thank you po.

Hello! That happened to me a number of times. usually kapag magchange sila ng plane ay ganyan or depende sa number of passengers. What I would do is abang ako when online check-in opens then magselect ng seats since usually free na yung seats kapag open na yung online check-in (usually 48hrs before flight nagoopen pero depende sa airline). if hindi kaya, you can try to ask the check-in counter sa mismong flight nyo :)

but if you paid for the seat, you should be able to select seats kahit di pa open online check-in. I would try to reach out customer service kung nagbayad ka sa seat tapos iniba nila tapos hindi mo mabago without paying.
