    Hello.

Ask ko lang if continuous pa po ba ang contribution niyo for PhilHealth? Plano po kasi namin na hindi na ituloy since hindi na naman ata magagamit sa Australia..

    Thanks!

Paid Philhealth during my first employment (4 years). Moved to another job as Contractual sa Government, I was trying to pay my Philhealth but nung sinabi nila na 3 or 4% ng sahod yung bayad (tapos ito yung time na may corruption case sa philhealth). I never paid again. 1 and 2 years later, got invited, submitted my docs including sss tax pagibig except philhealth. No problems with my application, not saying this will work for everyone. But I think having philhealth will really help in case maospital ka sa pinas.

If you're already moving, you won't be required to contribute if you don't have plans on using it soon. Di sya magagamit sa AU.

Isabay mo na lang sa BM bro. Find old tv boxes disposed to fit your tv.

It will be counted as normal baggage unless theres penalty for more than the allowed length of item. Just check the airline.

Btw AU pala is PAL (tv system) same with SG so wala issue sa local TV. Not sure about channels if digital na din.

If may Medicare naman dito sa AU, you also need private medical insurance. I think it will be cheaper to purchase travel medical insurance purchased in Australia para comprehensive medical coverage rather than paying Philhealth.

Hi sa mga na hire offshore, may relocation package ba kayo or wala? Hehe 😁 kasi PR na so i am not sure kung may relocation package parin… thanks sa sasagot 😊😊

Most probably wala yan haha. Based lang rin sa recent applications ko (tumumal recently, wala na pumapansin sakin hahahaha), wala silang relocation package kasi nageexpect talaga sila since PR ka na, you have all the means and work rights. Pero pwede ka naman mag negotiate kung meron sila pa-hotel for a week or so, open up mo lang na since new migrant ka maghahanap ka pa lang ng bahay pagdating mo. I suggest just be transparent and be open to that.

Mga employer sponsored lang yung usually merong relocation package.

Thanks. Yun din inisip ko since PR na tau so feeling ko wala haha..

Ma-share ko lang baka off-topic na, pero may inapplyan ako sobrang gustong gusto ko yung company. Parang every year ata nagaapply ako sa kanila for 3yrs now, pero wala. Olats.

    a) If your company na pinagworkan mo sa Pinas merong branch dito sa Australia
    b) Australian company ang pinagworkan mo sa Pinas
    c) Australian standards yung work experience mo sa Pinas
    d) Australian education kung dati may student visa ka sa AU, advantage mo ito sa paghahanap ng work
    e) Australian address and phone number
    f) Australian certificates

    • They have this computer software na nadetect nila offshore address, offshore experience only, na hindi ka na mashoshortlist sa interview. Pero not all pero maraming companies na ganito. Saka pagnadetect nila na permanent visa only compared citizen, permanent visa compared sa skilled regional. May mga ganun kasi pagnainterview ka dito. More or less mga 5 lang kayo. Kaya pagnainterview ka na, ibig sabihin may potential ka na

    Hello,

Question po ulit. Sa mga mag big move from PH to AU under visa 189/190, required po ba kumuha ng CFO? Ano pa po hinihingi ni PH immigration aside sa passport at visa grant letter?

    Thank you po.

Yes, required ang CFO—need mo makuha yung certificate/sticker. This general guide might help with some info (specific nga lang sya for 190 NSW) though hope someone who recently made the big move can share rin for added insights: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18jQIdQkr1Rsq_qRxmexUqQwGdJ53Sax8iFKUfbi6fBE/edit?usp=sharing :)

    Hello po,

Meron po ba dito nag initial entry (like 2 weeks) from SG or another country tapos yung second entry is from PH?

Hahanapan pa rin po ba ng CFO kahit nag initial entry na?

    Thanks po.

Is the CFO also required for dependent visa holder, or just the primary?

Alam ko if ang primary applicant ay nagrant ng PR, then by default yung visa ng dependents are also PR. So they’d need it too. You can also always check with CFO directly when in doubt.

hello, question po regarding sa primary schools. for example yung anak ko natapos niya yung grade 1 sa pinas by May 2024, i-rerecognize po ba yun sa Australia at magiging Primary 2 na siya by January 2025? Or kelangan niya parin pumasok sa Primary 1 in the middle of the school year sa AU? Iniisip kasi namin kung patapusin muna namin yung school year ng anak namin sa Pinas then saka lang kami mag-BM sa June 2024 eh. salamat po sa mga makakasagot.

Depends on which school but most likely, your child will continue year 2 kc January ang start ng term dito, 4 terms and ends on December. In our case, the principal gave our child a quick assessment in his office, that was middle of the year, a bit worried why he wasnt in school, then proceeded to enrol him for the term. You'd be surprised how advanced our curriculum is in the PH compared dito - puro laro lang ang primary schools dito and relationship/social building so gulat sila that our child can read and write well at prep.

Makes me think, automatic pag offshore, ayaw na nila agad sakin kahit PR na ko. Sad lang hahahahaha.

Haha may ganyan din akong company kaya relate. Baka pag may AU address ka na, pansinin ka na. Wag kang sumuko. hehe

Yeah di ko naman sila sinusukuan. Baka next year mag apply ulit ako hahahaha! Yearly tradition ko na yan. :D

This is actually a feasible option but no guarantees. if you know someone with an AU address, ask him/her to use it, but then you need an AU number that the HR can call. They wont verify your address until you are hired, I dont even put my exact address on my CV, suburb lang. Yung AU number is key.

Another option is try stalking the employees of that company, if you see a friendly face or pinoy, try messaging sa linkedin :) or message recruiters, introduce yourself and your skills. HR is clueless about skills sometimes, but recruiters think outside the box because of their commission. The key is finding someone who can vouch for you. That's how I got my first job in Australia years ago while offshore. Free plane tickets and accommodation pa yun (no relocation package hehe) but I doubt it if they still do that now.

Though I agree on the "stalking" part. I do that, too. But for now, taking the time to upskill and to prepare for the move. With or without a job offer. :)

Is the CFO also required for dependent visa holder, or just the primary?

Alam ko if ang primary applicant ay nagrant ng PR, then by default yung visa ng dependents are also PR. So they’d need it too. You can also always check with CFO directly when in doubt.

yes correct lahat ng dependents kasama pati anak. if minor ung anak, need mo rin magawa ng separate email niya kung saan marereceive ung sticker if offsite ung kinuha mo.

    MY ROAD TO AUSTRALIAN PR

Nominated Occupation: Architectural Draftsperson - ANZSCO 312111 (Offshore)

    2020

Jan 20: Since I’m DIYing it, I started researching and learning the whole process.
Feb 22: VETASSESS – I started gathering all required documents.
Apr 25: VETASSESS – I finished gathering all my documents. I created my account and started filling up the Skills Assessment for General Occupation Application.
Apr 29: VETASSESS – I double-checked my documents. I started uploading the required documents. I decided not to include my first work in the Philippines because I don’t have payment evidence of it. I didn’t include my 1st work in Singapore as well because I don’t have a Certificate of Employment from that job.
Apr 30: VETASSESS – I double-checked my documents for the last time.
May 01: VETASSESS – I successfully submitted my online assessment for Architectural Draftsperson. Total amount paid is AUD$ 880 (SGD$ 842.66) Crossing my fingers that the outcome will be positive.
May 05: VETASSESS – My application status was lodged.
Jul 12: VETASSESS – After 11 weeks, the results came out and it was Positive. Number of years assessed positively was 9.63 which is equivalent to 15 points in EOI.
Jul 25: IELTS – I finally booked my IELTS Computer-delivered Test for SGD$ 365. My test date was Aug 16, 2020.
Aug 16: IELTS – It was my test day. Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing were all taken on this day.
Aug 21: IELTS – My test results came out. L: 9.0 R: 7.5 W: 7.0 S: 7.5 which is Proficient English. It is equivalent to 10 points in EOI.
Aug 22: EOI – I finally submitted my Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect for NSW Visa 190.

    My points breakdown:
    Age: 25
    English Language Ability: 10
    Education: 15
    State Nomination: 5
    Years of Experience: 15
    Total: 70 points

*Invitation rounds for NSW nomination under the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) are currently closed. I’m expecting that this may take a while because of the pandemic and the current situation in Australia. I just have to wait for the federal government’s advice on when it will open again.

    2022

Jul 5: IELTS – Since my IELTS exam result was expiring on Aug 16, 2022, I booked my 2nd IELTS Computer-delivered Test for SGD$ 378. My test date was on Jul 17, 2022. I didn’t know at that time that Australia is accepting its validity for 3 years. But I was able to use it as well for my Canada PR application.
Jul 17: IELTS – It was my test day. Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing were all taken on this day.
Jul 20: IELTS – My test results came out. L: 8.0 R: 9.0 W: 7.0 S: 7.5 which is Proficient English. It is equivalent to 10 points in EOI.
Jul 25: EOI – I received a notice that my EOI is expiring on August 23, 2022, so I had to resubmit it.
Aug 23: EOI – My Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect expired after 2 years.
Aug 25: EOI – I submitted my new Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect.

    My points breakdown:
    Age: 25
    English Language Ability: 10
    Education: 15
    State Nomination: 5
    Years of Experience: 15
    Total: 70 points

*Invitation rounds for NSW nominations under the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) were still closed. It’s expected to open in November 2022. I hope I get invited before my birthday because I will lose points during an age milestone on December.

Sep 09: EOI – After a long wait, NSW’s Skilled Visa Nomination Program finally opened. However, my skill points for my nominated occupation didn’t meet the minimum points required which is 90. I only had 70 points. I updated my EOI and changed my preferred state to Victoria, which only requires a minimum of 65 points. I then created an account in the Live In Melbourne portal and submitted my Registration of Interest (ROI).

Dec XX: EOI – My points went down to 60 points due to an age milestone and I am now not qualified for at EOI in the Australian Skillselect. My only hope is to get higher points in my English exam to get back in the pool. I withdrew my EOI and ROI in Victoria.
    Dec19: – I booked my PTE English Test for USD$ 260 (SGD$ 367.11). My exam date was on Dec 30, 2022.
Dec 30: PTE – I took the PTE Academic English Test. My test results came out the same day: L: 84 R:84 S: 90 W: 75. I didn’t get the scores that I needed to achieve Superior English.
Dec 31: PTE – I booked another PTE English Test for USD$ 260 (SGD$ 361.28). My exam date was on Jan 09, 2023.

    2023

Jan 09: PTE – It was my test day. The results came out on the same day: L: 90 R:85 S: 90 W: 80. I finally got the points that I needed to get Superior level of English.
Jan 10: EOI – I lodged my EOI for NSW Visa 190 and was able to reach 70 points again to qualify for an invitation. By this time, the minimum points for all occupations were already removed by NSW.
Jan 12: PTE – Booked my wife’s PTE English Test for USD$ 291.60 (SGD$ 401.85). Her exam date was on Jan 20, 2023.
Jan 20: PTE – It was my wife’s test day. The results came out on the same day. She got a Competent English result which is additional 5 points on my EOI for Partner’s Qualifications (English).
Jan 21: EOI – I updated my NSW 190 EOI. I now have 75 points.

    My points breakdown:
    Age: 15
    English Language Ability: 20
    Education: 15
    State Nomination: 5
    Years of Experience: 15

Noted on this, thank you for answering. Until now we haven’t received the grant so it looks like we’ll be having our BM next year na.

Our worry now is the quality of education there because I’ve heard nga that it’s not the same in the PH or here in SG. So with regards to this, ask ko lang if aside sa laro, may academics parin naman ba ung primary schools jan?

For me, yup ok pa rin. Again, depende sa schools. May schools na strong in English, Math or Science. But generally, they are strong in relationship building and establishing confidence which is common here. My youngest who started in daycare here is way more confident than my eldest who started prep only here. They question everything. D uso dito yung Pinas-like discipline na 'dont question me coz I am your parent'. That's why they mostly grow up confident, assertive and independent. But best if may balance pa din.

We use this site to plan which schools to send our kids to: https://bettereducation.com.au/school/primary/vic/vic_primary_school_rating.aspx

Private and grammar schools are still the best but pricey. Catholic schools are somewhere in the middle. Public schools can be at both end of the spectrums, may ok and may hindi, just check the site above for guidance.

The MAIN thing to consider for public schools is zoning - you have to be residing within the zone (suburb) of the school to get admitted. Kaya some families here sell their house and rent near a good public school just to be within the zoning.

Public schools are cheap in general. What you can do is also supplement your kids' learning with tutors - depends on your parenting style or kids' assimilation.

Pag galing pinas, the transition is like using a 3210 then moving to the latest iPhone, whereas pag galing SG or Middle east, from iPhone 14 to iPhone 15 haha. Ang laking talon ng quality of life.

But, He has really good plans for me. I got accepted sa job na aligned sa profession ko, has great salary and benefits (in 1 month mababawi lahat nun ginastos sa visa, sa pagstay ko in the past few weeks), and kayang kaya na magbuild ng family (single pa po ako). I just can't contain the happiness. Yun feeling na after all the struggles, worries, and almost giving up (yes, unti unti ko nang tinatanggap na posibleng umuwe na muna ako sa Pinas), the job offer came. Until now, ang sarap pa rin sa feeling. Actually, parang mas doble yun saya.

Indeed, this is His perfect timing at magtiwala sa proseso. Laban lang (sabi ni Ellen sa E.A.T, naging libangan ko panoorin sa Youtube while nagaapply ng work)!

I know a lot of us is going through the same. Maraming tumulong saken throughout this journey. I want to pay it forward by helping others as well. Message me here. If finances, wag muna ngayon. Magsstart pa lang ng work. Hahaha.

    See you in Brisbane!!!

Thank you for this very detailed answer. At least now we have a better understanding and greater insight with regards to primary schools there in AU. We will do more research about this so we are better prepared once we do our BM in Sydney. Thanks once again!

    Partner Qualification (English): 5
    Total: 75 points

Jan 24: EOI – I finally received a pre-invite to apply for visa 190 nomination from NSW! We were super-duper happy! We’re on cloud 9! Tears of joy!

hello, question po regarding sa primary schools. for example yung anak ko natapos niya yung grade 1 sa pinas by May 2024, i-rerecognize po ba yun sa Australia at magiging Primary 2 na siya by January 2025?

Hello po, we're still also waiting for our grant and iniisip din namin kung patapusin na lang din muna ang school year bago mag bm. Paano naman po if ever na patapusin mag grade 1 dito sa Pinas ang bata tapos mag bm in the middle of the year, let's say June 2024, and ipasok na sa school sa Au in the middle of the school year naman nila, sa year 1 pa din ba sya bale iaadmit? Or may sort of assessment ba sila na ieevaluate kung pwede na sya sa year 2?

Natawa lang ako dito, kaya minsan I can't blame people na kating kati na makapunta ng Oz na galing Pinas VS others coming from developed countries.

Pag galing pinas, the transition is like using a 3210 then moving to the latest iPhone, whereas pag galing SG or Middle east, from iPhone 14 to iPhone 15 haha. Ang laking talon ng quality of life.

Good analogy. Some would argue higher pa nga salary sa Middle East kc tax free but you’re missing other factors like relatively fair justice system, not being a 2nd class citizen, work life balance and nature.

Mapapaisip ka talaga unfair ang mundo, sa first world countries basta masipag, you can get a comfortable life. Kahit blue collared job pa. Sa pinas hirap eh..
