    Well done nfronda! very inspiring story. Ako din eh di ko inaasaan na makakapunta ako dito. Ngayun Citizen na rin... Pareho pala kami ng tatay mo 457 then 857 visa. Puede na mag apply sya ng citizenship kung naka 4 years na sya dito sa Oz. :D Good luck and enjoy... God bless your family...

    Idol ka Sir @TotoyOzresident! Sana ako din makapag-PR after nitong 457. Konting tiyaga pa and lots of dasal! :)
    idol din kita for sure :D Tyaga ka lang.. Pag nakuha mo na ang PR relieved na rin ang pakiramdam mo. Then sunod yan BF then kasal na... tapos makakapag travel o holiday kana kung saan mo gusto. :D then apply na ng citizenship. Well done... cheers :D

    @TotoyOZresident: salamat po. Pero may isa pa akong exam next year. Kung bibiyayaan, ay pangarap ko full australian license na kung maipasa yun (pinagdadasal ko talaga to!) at pwedeng-pwede na mag-PR kung ganun. :D

    Provisional license pa lang po ako kasi 5 months pa lang naman at kailangan talaga ng experience dito (as per medical board requirement). Tiyaga talaga! (kahit minsan kakatamad mag-aral)

    @icebreaker1928 @nfronda: haha. salamat po, pipilitin kong kayanin. Andito na eh, go kung go. :D

    Pagod na kasi ako sa Singapore. Ambilis ng oras. Parang majority ng time ko spent rushing for something. Ang mahal pa ng flats. Gustuhin ko mang mag-settle dito - mahirap kasi limpak-limpak na salapi ang kapalit tapos di naman worth-it. Pano mo ma-e-enjoy kung your day is spent rushing for something?

    Gustu ko ng buhay probinsya. Matagal na ring naglaro sa isip ko na umuwi na sa Pinas. Pero hirap pakawalan ng mataas na sahod. O_O Kaya, australia na!!!

    Same reasons here. I net 6 digits here a month, very near to pinas, and all other awesome things which i may not get easily in Australia. But my life here became so routinary. Everything is fast paced and of course the icing of the cake is the tightening of foreigners.

    So goodluck to all of us. Kita kits on down under.

    @vhoythoy @GoodLuckAU

    I share the same sentiment po. SG din po now. Although maganda po yong company ko ngayon and bright yong career advancement, wala pa rin pong assurance dito sa SG kasi hindi ako PR and wala akong balak mag-apply for PR. Cheap nga food and rent dito compared to Oz, but the quality of living is not on a par with the life that you will have in Oz.

    Salary wise, more than 50% ang increase ng offer in Oz. Kahit malaki yong tax sa Oz, maganda naman yong mga benefits and in the long run, mapapakinabangan mo naman.

    And, needless to say, 1 SGD = PHP 33 while 1 AUD = PHP 40, on average :D

    At saka, dami kong friends na gusto lumipat from SG to Oz kasi maganda daw talaga sa Oz :D

    Opo bro, 50% increase more or less. Standard minimum salary rate sa Oz at present is AUD 60K per annum. And if blessed and fortunate ka na makakuha ng employer na mabait and malaki magbigay ng compensation, mas mataas pa sa minimum salary ang i-offer nila sayo. And every year, meron standard % increase yong salary.

    IT field ako bro but nasa digital marketing for almost 7 years. Been in SG for 2 years.

    Thanks bro. Pray lang tayo for our visa applications. God will make a way. :D

    @RodGanteJr.. As I know ang 60KAUD standard salary rate is pra sa mga 457 visa yan. If the employer can't meet that salary rate they will not able to sponsor you.. Ganyan kasi sa kuya q at dad q dati $49kAUD lg cla per annum, den nung ngplabas ang DIAC ng new law about 457 visa about market salary rate inengcrease kaagad ang salary nla into $60KAUD..

    Hala! Mali po pala ako. Hahaha. Sorry po and thanks po for correcting the wrong information. I thought po kasi na standard yong AUD 60K for all jobs.

    @GoodLuckAU
    Wrong info bro ang naibigay ko po on salary standard. For 457 visa pala yong pinagbabasehan ko na standard salary. So, yong salary compensation po is generally employer-dependent. :D

    @RodGanteJr.. That's alright po.. Ipagpray q na lg na sana yan ang magiging standard salary rate sa lahat ng jobs d2 pra madagdagan kahit konti lg ung savings q.. ;)

    Yan ang maganda sa 457 visa kasi my standard salary rate.. and just in case hndi ma meet ng employer m yan u have the rights na ireklamo cla sa DIAC..

    But other jobs, salary will depend on ur position, qualifications and profession.

    Anyway, prang OT na aq d2.. ;)

    Makikidaan ako at makikisabat po. :D

    Tama si @nfronda. AUD 60k po and above ang pasahod ng isang applicant for 457. Otherwise, hindi approve ng DIAC ang nomination ng employer. Another thing na kailangan prove ng employer sa DIAC ay kailangan nila tong tao to, at walang aussie resident and citizen ang makakagawa ng sinasabing trabaho. A 3rd requirement ay dapat yung applicant ay may set-skills and experience. So, may assessment from an authorized body (example, VETASSESS, Medical Board, etc.) na nagsasabing positive assessment.

    So yung mga nasa 457 talaga, hindi nadadaya ang sweldo. Plus may mga conditions pa yan in terms of health insurance requirement, at fair work australia. So pwede mo reklamo employer mo kung hindi sinusunod ang terms na nakasaad. Yan ang kinaganda ng australia talaga.

    Having said that though, fair dito ang pasahod mapa 457 ka man or kahit ano pa visa mo. As far as government hospital po ha. Like, sa work ko, pwede mo talaga google yung hourly rates. Ganun sila ka transparent. Hindi naman kami lahat sa ospital 457 visa ang hawak. But it doesn't matter ke ano ka pa, pag yan ang title and designation mo, ganito pasahod mo.

    Australia definitely has some of the best working conditions, masasabi ko. Syempre comparison ko Sg and Pinas. Sa Pinas kasi, kahit ano gawin mo, wala talaga mararating sweldo. Sa Sg, wala ka na oras para ma-enjoy ang sweldo naman, sa sobrang hectic at busy.

    Yun po. Bow. :D

    I think po that meron pa rin pong assessment. Yong nomination na stage po ata yong assessment by assessing authority. For example, sakin po, Australian Institute of Management yong nag-assess during nomination stage. Nag-submit po ako ng detailed CV, detailed COE, degree certificate and certifications.

    Another skills assessment din po ay gagawin ng CO during the final stage - but I think that yong decision ng CO is based on the assessing authority's decision.

    Or baka po wala nang skills assessment dati for 457 visa application. This year ko lang po kasi nabasa etong 457 visa. :D

    I think May assessment talaga, feeling ko. Kasi, how would DIAC know kung akma yung skills mo to your profession kung walang assessment by the relevant authority. And Australian immigration is really skills-based eh.

    I think yung sa dad ni @nfronda, baka prior to or sabay ng nomination pa rin like the rest of us. Yung submission ng diploma, CV, etc. Ganun din sakin @RodGanteJr. Pero nagsabay-sabay na kasi kaya minsan nakakalito. Habang nag-assessment pa ako sa Medical Board, nag-apply na pala ng nomination for me. Kaya parang sabay yung dating.

    7 Jan 2013 - medical finalised

    Why australia?

    AU vs PH: similar din sa isang poser dito, i forgot who. Hubby and I are both in IT and are earning quite a decent pay, boasting aside. We have house helpers, have property, have car, we are living well. Pero araw araw lagi mong iisipin safety mo at ng anak mo. sakitin kaming magina and we always spend thousands pag naoospital kami. Although may maxicare, still may expenses pa din. Mahal na ang tuition fee sa private schools. Kahit anong laki ng kita mo, lumalabas din as expenses, coz to get a better life you have to pay for it, BIG TIME. Then we decided to move to SG...

    AU vs SG: Similar to @psychoboy @RobertSG @Hotshot @Killerbee my family and i tried to apply for PR in SG after 6years of being here but sadly we were denied. One valid reason why we dont want to settle here in SG. kung ayaw nila sa amin e di wag! hahaha. Pero kahit non PR secured naman ang stay namin so far. We are also earning a lot here in SG. With our income, weve enjoyed our life here. We have yaya, can buy things that we want, got a property back in phil, supported our family back in phil, and at the end of the day we still have savings. Pero gaya nga ng sabi nila, maganda s SG kasi makakaipon ka tlga or maganda buhay mo pag single ka or married pero walang anak. Another reason why i want to settle in AU. Pampamilya tlga. Lahat ng reasons all comes down para sa anak ko. Pressure mga student dito. Wala ng time para maging bata. Pressure din sa trabaho. Bawal umuwi on time. Di k lng pagtitinginan, sisirahin ka pa. Pressure ang buhay, lahat pera pera ang labanan para mabuhay. Mahal ang maospital. Mahal magpasalon. Advantage lng, puede magshopping linggo linggo dahil sa sandamakmak na sale. Kahit branded. Tapos bagsak presyo din electronics. At mura pagkain.

    Dito talaga papasok yung tanong na ipagpapalit mo ba ung maganda mo ng buhay NGAYON para magsimula ulit sa ibang bansa na di mo alam kung mararanasan mo ulit ung kaginhawaan? Ang sagot, with a promising government policies and benefits, its worth leaving what we have now and risking our future. 50-50 kasi yan. 50% nasa tao kung papaano nya patatakbuhin buhay nya, 50% kung anong opportunity meron sa paligid. But at the end of the day, you make your own destiny. Tayong mga pinoy lalo na katulad kong laki sa hirap, alam natin kung papano dumiskarte sa buhay. Kaya kahit nasaan man tayo, kaya nating mabuhay at magsucceed. Pero shempre, malaking bagay ung maganda ang environment. Yun kasi ang hindi natin kontrolado, ung safety, cost of living, at quality of life.

    @jengrata very well said! :)

    hihihi, nag SG dn ako for 4 years...pero after ng 1st year ko dun, I told myself na parang ayaw ko n feeling ko parang ang sikip 2x, napakalimited ng pwedeng gawin or mapuntahan. I was not really well paid s SG, ndi nman ako IT. But here in Aus, I landed a job w/c I should say well paid...naging almost x3 nung swldo ko sa SG ang maganda pa bonggang mag increase ung employer ko. S SG non, naalala ko na swerte na s company na pinanggalingan ko kung ma-increasan ng 50-100 a month ung sweldo after ng yearly review, Pero dito, I'm very happy kc after 1 1/2 yrs lang s company eh nag increase na ang sweldo ko ng almost 1,000AUD/mo that is after having 2 evaluation review - nag start ako s company ng Aug 2011 had the 1st performance review dec 2011 nagulat dn ako kc kahit ndi ko pala buo ung 1 taon at under probationary pa lang ako non eh na increasan na ko agad, then 2nd evaluation nmin nung dec 2012. Pero sobrang thankful dn ako kc sobrang bait ung Aussie n manager ko. Sabi ko nga kabaligtaran tlaga ung environment sa SG. Ung company also sponsored me and my groupmate sa 1 course n kung kami magbabayad e more than 10K AUD ang cost nya, plus my yearly membership fee na 250AUD c company dn ang nagbabayad para sa min. Then few months ago, my family had a very serious financial problem, di ko n lang i dedetalye masyado kung ano nangyari, but I talked to my operations manager and the company was able to give me a salary loan na sobrang liit ng interest and sinabi nman nila sa kin na flexible cla kung ganong katagal na duration ko gustong bayaran but I told him I would finish it in 8 mos time w/c is sa Dec matatapos ko na. Kung s SG to nangyari, since walang ganitong tulong ang binibgay ng company ko non eh I would resort sa bank loan o kaya shark loan n n may kalakihan ang interest. Sabi ko nga ayaw ko ng umalis sa company na ito, although we are planning to move sa Queensland in few years time dahil sobrang ginaw sa Melbourne eh sana pumayag ung company ko n dun ako mag work since may branch office dun...pero will see :)

    Ditto here, after 3 years sa SG, alam na namin mag-asawa na hindi lugar ito para mag-settle, masyado mahirap makabili ng property at paiba-iba rule.

    Bago pa lang kami sa AU, last March lang nag-simula. So far so good naman, marami-rami pa sigurong haharapin na pag-subok pero mas maganda chance namin dito kesa sa SG.

    SG din ako at present. Dami palang nasa SG and from SG dito :D

    Pero isa po sa ma-mi-miss ko if nasa AU na ako is basketball and yong mga liga o tournaments ng basketball sa SG. Hindi raw po uso ang basketball sa AU, lalong lalo na sa Queensland, kung saan ako pupunta :(

    Makapag-praktis nga ng Cricket and Rugby :D

    @Davidx23 you know what David ur reply 2 years ago, enlightened me. I'm in the same position as yours now, torn between Canada and Australia. Canada because my family are I the US mura ticket, same time zone parang malapit na rin at makakabisita palagi. But my sister in the US told me that job opportunity in CAnada is limited and restrictive for non Canadians. Australia naman sabi nila laid back, Lapith sa Pinas at mas marami work para sa IT katulad ko. Mas malaki rin daw suweldo pero mataas and cost of living. Somehow your insight give me idea of what is it like if I choose one from another. Wala naman gugulo sa isipan ko, only family proximity Kung sana sa AU na lang din sila ang saya sana. Pero only hopeful that I can have off from work to have vacation to be with family in US and Phil. life is a vacation kc motto ko kaya feeling ko magkakasundo kami ni AU. I hope sana nga. God lead me to the right way :D

    puro singaporeans, hehehe.. medyo di ko lang maintindihan bat pa kau lilipat dito eh mga big shot na kau dyan. isipin nio na lang, back to zero kau pag dumating kau dito. at ano ba meron dito na wala dyan? di pa ako naka apak ng singapore eh hahaha oo kahit stop over wala, pero sabi ng mga kaibigan ko dyan, mayaman ang singapore, mas safe, at mas advance daw technology dyan. baka mangyari pa eh, wala dito - meron dyan. may limit ang internet dito. merong tpg at dodo na "unlimited" raw pero bullshit yun kasi pag sobrang dami na na-download mo, the next day, sobrang bagal na internet mo! late lagi ang bus, sira lagi ang train, kailangan mo ng kotse, etc! laid back ba? oo nga, part sa paging laid back eh yung maglasing buong araw. so, handa ka na bang mag downgrade?? hindi lang sa gadget, pati na rin sa trabaho. kunti pa lang yan sa mga cons, hahaha... marami pa, kaso baka sabihin dina-discourage ko kayo, nasa inyo na yan.

    @orengoreng; sa kaso mo siguro, Canada ang swak sau. kasi pag naging au-citizen ka, ganun pa rin, sa australia ka parin babalik. mahal ang ticket papuntang america at ang layo!

    ~ Where do you think he went!??!! A walk in the woods!???!!?!?

    Mahirap na kasing maging PR dito sa Singapore ngaun dahil sa paghihigpit ng Govt so ayun job security and anytime pwede ka mapaalis. Yan ang main reason. Tapos lifestyle dito sa Sg medyo stressful environment and para ka lang nsa loob ng malaking city palagi. During my first 3 years here in SG i find it a perfect place and better than any other places. Pero naging boring narin in a long run. Then naisip na din future ng family. Pero my opinion is savings, technology, proximity sa pinas, pollution, convinience, shopping/gadgets, crime, nightlife, transpo, orderliness, mas ok sa SG. Pero tingin ko lng yan wala p kasi ako sa AU. So looking forward for new environment.
