Na-deny din ako previously by CPAA regarding sa Accounting Theory na yan...I felt bad and did not pursue the application -- but after visiting Australia last year na-motivate ulit ako to continue the assessment...

It took me 2 years but I emailed CPA Australia directly and asked if I can apply for re-assessment specifically for Theory of Accounts, they said OK so I went to my College and asked for a revised syllabus. Inisa-isa ko yung mga subjects ng Theory of Accounts and placed them sa appropriate Course Title(written on my my scoresheet). Ayun, next email sa akin ng CPA Australia - I am academically fit na for migration. :)

Hi @sticky_note, this is what I think and anyone can refute it.

I believe the CPAA requires the school syllabus with the applicable school year for assessment since they also consider the school year when you completed your Accountancy degree. As there have been significant changes in Accounting Standards in recent years, those who completed their degrees on or before 2002 maybe required by CPAA to retake the Accounting Theory. You may claim that you have been to various seminars/workshops on new Accounting Standards subsequent to graduation however CPAA will not consider such seminars/workshops as these were taken after completion of your bachelor's degree.

On the other hand, I also think that CPAA is a profit oriented organization so they will earn more by requiring significant number of applicants to take the Accounting Theory exam despite various proof showing successful completion of the same by the applicant.

    Yours truly,
    Slightly sour graping ;)

Nothing wrong with graduating before 2002 @sticky_note (except probably when getting points for the age); the fundamental things are all still there naman...

Itong issue on accounting theory is because andami kasi topics here which were covered in 3 or more courses in college. If you checked the link I posted above for you, it outlined these topics. It may help you get a favorable assessment from CPAA.

You are not yet an ASA to be very strict about it... You can become an ASA once you have activated your membership at kailangan ito ng membership fee of around $350 per year ata (double check mo sa website) - professional experience requirement can only be done after you have activated your membership, walang bayad to get your professional experience assessed.

Bali po Accountant and Singapore PR ako at planning ko rin po mag apply ng SS habang 38 years old pa lang ako.

    Questions ko lang po:

    1. Pwede na po ba mag apply ng SS sa Victoria kahit di ala pa ako detailed job descriptions and at the same time pwede na rin ba mag apply ng EOI sa DIAC pero save as draft ko lang muna din kahit di pa complete detailed job description ko kasi nsa gathering pa lang ako.

    2. Yung ibang company ko di ko mahingan ng detail job description, pwede ako na lang ba gumawa at ipanotaryo ko or any mganda gawin po.

@mr_singapore2009 - eto yung steps ko in order to apply for PR:

    1) IELTS
    2) Securing of docs required for skills assessment
    3) Skill assessment c/o CPA Australia
    4) Lodging of Expression of Intent (EOI)
    5) Lodge a visa application once you are invited to apply
    6) Medicals
    7) Police Clearance

Please take note that before you can be able to apply for 189 or 190, you need to have a positive skills assessment from CPAA or whichever assessing body you want.

    All the best, TA! :)

@psychoboy Pahabol po n tanong, lahat po ng COE nyo may direct contact number ng mgr o hr? Unfortunately, wala kc direct number ung skin, comp office number lng meron.

Dun po ba sa EOI humihingi rin ng assessment for work exp? Iniicip kc nmin na qualification lng ipa assess since DIAC pa rin mag decide kng ilang points ibigay sa work exp, tho they also consider the advice of CPAA/ICAA/IPA on work exp.
Hi again @dreambig - my wifey's work reference papers are as follows:

Company 1 - it was signed by the HR Manager together with her direct contact number and it includes a comprehensive list of all her tasks for her tenure with the company.

Company 2 - HR only provided a COE which outlined her tenure in the company, her last drawn salary, her job titles. It did not specify any tasks as they say it is against company policy to provide such. HR though, indicated their contact details there. What we did to remedy was we came up with a statutory declaration which indicated the reason why we cannot provide a list of task in the company letterhead. We then included in the statutory declaration her specific task.

Company 3 - HR only provided a COE which outlined her tenure in the company, her last drawn salary, her job titles. It did not specify any tasks as they say it is against company policy to provide such. HR also indicated their contact details there. The specific task was provided by her immediate boss in a company letterhead so there was no problem here.

Hindi naman hinihingi yung work experience sa paglodge ng EOI however I do believe the opinion of the assessing body is very important. Think of it this way, they assessing body would be in the best position to know whether your experience would be considered relevant or not as they specialized on this particular field. And DIAC naman, they are sort of generalist. Although sinasabi na DIAC are the ones who gives the points, in my opinion malaking weight kung yung claim mo is being backed by the opinion of the assessing body.

    Hope this helps! :)
Question to TasBurrfoot: Referring sa Company 2, mostly my COE eh walang detail job descriptions pero hihingi naman ako pero not all company ko mkakapagbigay. Paano po gumawa ng Statutory Declaration. Pwede naman po pa private message ng sample or papost dito po. Salamat.

Glad to find this thread where I belong,,,kasalukuyan din po akong nagproprocess, while I am waiting my first IELTS result busy naman po na inaasikaso mga requirements for skills assessment, well I am thinking kung san ba maganda magpa assess, CPAA ba o ICAA. I have doubt din kung Accountant general o Management Accountant ang inominate ko, alin po kaya sa dalawa ang dapat inominate if you are working as Accountant in private companies? thanks for the comment!
