As per DIAC
Partner Skills – Points
You can claim 'partner skills' points if your partner is also able to satisfy the basic requirements of age, English language ability, has nominated an occupation on the same Skilled Occupation List (SOL) as the primary applicant for which they have obtained a suitable skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority and they meet the Australian study requirement or have recent work experience in a skilled occupation which is on the SOL as the primary applicant.

1. ECE po ako at work ako sa company related sa course ko for more than 10 yrs, need pa bang magpa-assess?
2. my wife is a licensed chemical engr pero nag work cya noon but not related sa course niya.
Now di na po cya nagwo-work. pwede ba claim ng points base in her education alone?
3. Dapat ba talaga pa-access before mag lodge or pwede na direct lodge na agad?
4. i havent taken IELTS yet, may specific ba na IELTS center na niri-require ang OZ immigration or pwede na kahit saan.
Thanks!

1. Assessment results from an AUS assessing body(i.e. ACS) is one the requirements for VISA application . Every occupation/ skills needed by their country is on their SOL or Skilled Occupation list:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1.pdf
This is applicable for Subclass 175
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/175/eligibility-applicant.htm
2. If your wife will apply for Visa 175 then # 1 also applies. First step is skills assessment from Australia assessing body/authority.
Visa types: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/visa-options-outside.htm

3. Skills assessment first Sir.
4. I think for Engineers, General IELTS exam is needed.
Hope that helps.

Sa points test 60 pts lang nakuha ko (assume ko pa IELTS is 7 (10pts + 5 points sa misis ko), since wala na work ang misis ko for quite some time then and points ko na lang is 55, in your honest opinion, is it worth it? I am here in SGP working as product engr (semicon) since 2005. Is 65 points one of the requirements? If I can get IELTS score of 8 (20pts) then i can get 65pts.
But again, base on the information I got, 8 is difficult to achieve.
salamat po.

1. for assessment, base sa experience ninyo, better ba ang email or post or fax? ano po ang mga requirements na dapat i-provide? photocopy, CTR or original? how much is the cost?
2. I saw this information from OZ site. Is this for the assessment fee alone? What is 1st and 2nd installment mean?
Skilled - Independent (Migrant) visa (subclass 175)
Charge Type Charge Amount
1st instalment $2960
2nd instalment $4110
Maraming salamat po and God Bless ...

Dun sa IELTS, kaya ang IELTS 8, tiyaga at lakas ng loob lang kelangan dun and the 20 pts you can get from that is very very helpful At kung gipit kayo sa points, mayroon ding visa tulad ng Employer Sponsored or State Sponsorship na hindi masyadong strikto sa points
