Hi Kelly, based on the profile of your hubby,it seems that he reached the 65 point-mark.As for the chance of obtaining the visa,I think only DIAC has the final say for this. But if you have time to read booklet 6,kaya kahit wala ng agent kung hindi naman complicated yung case niyo.I suggest na mag start na kayo mag process ngayon kasi my changes na sa July 2012.Good luck :)

@skyline hello thanks sa reply ha, kaka email lang ng agent nmen and marami na syang pinagagawa samen like ung mga docs and kukuha na daw dapat kame ng IELTS test tapos eto sabe nya.
"We confirm we will first apply for a skills assessment as an Architectural Draftsperson and where successful, seek sponsorship from the State of Western Australia. Where State sponsorship approval is obtained, we will proceed to apply for your Subclass 176 Skilled State Sponsored Visa Application."

Focus on docs for Vetasses first then mag IELTS na.Need muna ng positive skills assessment so dapat pass muna kayo nito sa Vetasses.Start to collate the docs kasi ang timeline ng Vetasses ngayon nasa 12-16 weeks.I'm planning for Western Australia or South Australia.DIAC pala means Department of Immigration & Citizenship. If you have some questions baka kaya ko sagutin since medyo same tyo ng timeline at situation :)

"certified passport diploma, transcript, passport size picture, resume. payslip"

Btw,what is the test that you will take-up?

You're right dapat as of this time start na kayo mag collate ng docs kasi medyo dami din hinihingi ang Vetasses.I'm planning to take IELTS sa Nov.17 and I'm also starting to review kasi required na maka 7 ako.

I'm not an archi,I'm an I.T. recruiter.Yung nominated occuaption ko na pinili is Recruitment Consultant.I just hope na ok lang Vetasses at makapag submit agad ako for state sponsorship since paunahan din daw dun yung slot.

@batman, hhmm.. in peso or in dollar? hehee.. share ko yung breakdown ng expenses na ni-quote sa akin ng isang migration agent.

Step 1: General Assessment - FREE
Step 2: Skills Assessment - ACS: $400; Agent Fee: $500
Step 3: DIAC Lodgment - DIAC: $2960; Agent Fee: $1000
Step 4: Medical Examination - Agent Fee: $1000
Step 5: Grant Visa - FREE

    So total expenses pag mag-agent is: Agent Fee - $2500 + (ACS & DIAC) - $3360 = $5860

If I were you guys, mag-exam muna kayo ng IELTS kasi yun ang pnakamahirap at pinaka mura. Then pag pumasa kayo dun, sigurado tuloy-tuloy na ang visa grant nyo kung meron kayong sufficient work experience at appropriate degree sa nominated occupation nyo. CHEERS.

I agree with tootzkie in that taking the IELTS first might be the best options for most people because obtaining the "ideal" score can be a little frustrating.

In fact, some skills assessment will even require you to show the IELTS results before screening your application. :)

@batman, yung general assessment, most likely yan yung points testing..titingnan nila kung aabot ka sa 65 points or kung eligible ka for additional points like sponsorship, secondary language, spouse etc,..in most cases, kaya mo gawin mag-isa yun, andaming websites diyan :)
