@unanimous21, medyo kakapusin ako sa 5 years 4 plus palang experience ewan ko lang kung pde isama yong OJT ko na 5 months. Meron na rin ako SS sa SA kaso pag doubtful ako manigurado nalang sa 475. Hirap kasi pag Section 2 ang school, di natin alam kung 15 or 10 makukuha.

kelan ka nag apply for skills assessment and when u got the result? kasi ako, i applied in June then i got the result in Oct 14. Sa skills assessment ko, kasama na dun ung sa education qualification ko. I also came from a section 2 university but EA assessed it as comparable to Australian Bachelor's degree kaya i can claim 15 points for that. Baket SA ka nag-apply? saken ung SS ko sa WA (Perth) ang bilis ng result. 7 days lang. by the way, u didn't answer any of my questions, re: (1) r u sending back ur skills assessment result, and (2) do u know the lead time? thanks

1. No point of sending back to EA coz my experience did not reach 5 years.
2. Not clearly stated on EA about the turn around time but basically it could be 12 weeks max.
BTW eto nakalagay sa assessment ko, i dont know kung same sayo.

yup, same but after that, there is another paragraph stating "your above qualification has been assessed as broadly comparable to an Australian Bachelor degree for the purposes of awarding points for qualification under the General Skilled Migration points test. "

Sana naman kahit hindi ka umabot ng 5 yrs, umabot ka ng 65 points. Aq hopefully posivite with the below points:
1. Age - 30 yrs old
2. IELTS - OBS 8 (pero me 7.5 aq sa speaking)
3. Education - Bachelors Degree
4. Work experience - 5 yrs +
5. State Sponsorship with WA granted

I am currently collating my documents and waiting for my fiancee's IELTS. she's gonna sit in December 3.

@unanimous21 i received my result last March 2011, i think the changed in the point system had triggered EA to change their assessment statements. wala sa akin ganyan eh. Sobra na ata score mo brad.

@unanimous, mukhang iba na nga ang nakasulat sa EA letter nyo. Same samin ni @tobenhood yung naka-state sa letter. I got mine nun May 2011 na luma pa ang application guidelines. But anyway, @tobenhood I believe kahit level 2 ang school mo if nakakuha ka naman ng Skill Level 1, you don't need to submit another application for EA assessment.

For the information of everyone, I emailed EA last night about the degree equivalent issue.
Its confirmed another 80dollars para mabigyan tayo nang new copy of assessment with updated body of the letter.

Hello, halimbawa po ay nakapasa na ng IELTS, dapat ba ipa certified true copy ang result then isasama sa other docuements for EA assessment? meron kc nagsabi na dapat ang agency kung saan ka nag take ng IELTS ang magpapadala sa EA, tama po ba ito? Paano po ang sa State sponsorship copy at sa DIAC?

@jimbob no need to certify ung IELTS result.tama po, kung saan ka nagtake ng IELTS mo (either IDP or British Council)dun ka mag request na ipadala ung result mo sa EA through courier or ordinary post.

@jimbob, i suggest u to read the DIAC website and Engineers Australia website. lahat andudun actually, and napaka clear ng explanations nia. trust me, di ka maliligaw dun. step by step process andudun.

regarding IELTS, qng nag take ka na ng IELTS dapat nilagai mo dun sa form qng saang agency mo ipapadala para libre na ung pag send nun kc u cannot send the TRF by yourself.

@unanimous21 kung cla ang magpapadala ng IELTS result, hintay ba ng agency ang instruction mo kung kelan ipapadala? ipapa-assess ko kc mga docs ko kung ok na ang IELTS result. Ano ba dapat maunang ipapadala IELTS or docs or both ... cencia na po sa abala.

@jimbob, pwede mauna either IELTS Test Result Form (TRF) or yung documents mo. Either way, they will keep it in file until the other arrives. Example, nauna dumating IELTS tas wala pa docs mo, keep lang muna nila yun. Pag dumating na docs mo and nakita nila na may IELTS ka na then they'll file them together hangan maassess ka na. Or the other way around, keep nila docs mo hangan dumating IELTS mo.

So, it's your call kung kelan mo gusto ipasend IELTS mo, before ng docs mo or after ng docs mo. Pero ako halos sabay, pagkasend ko docs through DHL, I went sa IDP para isend naman nila IELTS ko sa EA.

@unanimous21, san ka nga ulit nag-IELTS? You mean the application form ba. I took my IELTS sa IDP para kasing walang ganun na basta sulat mo lang sa form kung san ipapadala para libre. I paid I think 1,300 for the courier fee.

@jimbob, kung confident ka na maaabot mo minimum na score then u can send ur documents ahead ng IELTS result mo. Kaso, un nga u have to ensure na marereach mo ung minimum score or else i-assess nila un based sa IELTS score na pinadala mo. Aq noon, ginawa q nag take muna aq ng IELTS then habang hinihintay ung result, pinripare ko na ung documents for assessment then nung makuha q na result, sindend q agad. Actually nung mag submit aq 16 weeks pa processing, ngaun mas pinaikli na, 12 weeks na lang.

@JClem, dito aq sa Maldives nag take ng exam pero pare-pareho naman ung form, tinry qng tingnan sa internet. Item number 23 xa sa form (last page). Actually libre na talaga kapag inistate mo sa form ung agency na gusto mong padalhan. Ung sa kaso q nga, un ang nakapa delay kc, ewan q qng kaninong fault, kc nag mail saken EA na wala pa daw ang IELTS result q. Nung i-follow up q naman sa British Council, sinend daw nila and inistate pa ung date when they sent the TRF. Aun, kelangan q pang awayin ung BC,haha.

@unanimous21, naalala ko na nga yan form na yan. May bayad pa din dito yung pagpasend sa EA. Nakalagay sa form. Pero baka sa inyo is libre na.

@jimbob, take the advice of unanimous21. Almost the same kami ng ginawa. Take IELTS muna then while waiting for the result, prepare the EA requirements (CDR, CPD, etc.). Then pag nakuha mo na results and above ka sa required score in all skills, then request mo na sa testing center to send it sa EA and send mo na din docs mo. Kelan mo plan mag-IELTS?

Good luck sa IELTS @jimbob! Actually, walang kelangan i-review for IELTS like grammar, spelling, vocabulary, etc. if one is already good with it. Ang importante is knowing how to answer the questions correctly and within the alloted time kaya ang importante is practice, practice, practice. Try to get sample IELTS exams and answer them. Check mo din if you can finish them within the time limit. At least, you also get the hang of it so that when your IELTS exam comes, mas alam mo na pano sumagot. And I'm sure after the exam, fresh ka pa din.

With the alloted time during the IELTS exam itself, I'm not sure if kakayanin pa makapag-draft. Take note 2 essays ang kelangan mo isulat within an hour. Ako po is final na agad. Isa mong pwedeng gawin instead of mag-draft, is outline mo yung thoughts mo based sa questions then from there, madali ka na makakapagcompose kasi may flow ka ng sinusundan. As suggested, practice ka and importante orasan mo habang sumasagot ka. Maraming IELTS practice exams that you can find in the internet. Try this: http://www.ielts-exam.net/
