I arrived here last March 16, the day they announced that people coming from overseas need to do self-isolation at the hotel. As a first time immigrant in Adelaide, SA I find it so difficult to settle in. You are not allowed to go out and do some groceries. Most establishments here are closed, but they do take-away or delivery through Uber EATS.

ayan yung legit na announcement from the PM.

Manila-Syd-Adelaide. ( magkaibang airlines) saan k mag-quarantine? sbi kasi pag ka-arrive mo isolated n agad after immigration.

Correct me if I'm wrong, once na makarating at maclear ng immigration for example sa Sydney, they will bring you to their designated facility (i.e. hotel) not to the hotel you had booked or any residence you booked in airbnb? And if connecting ka for example yung sa Manila-Sydney-Adelaide, kahit sa Sydney ka nalang mag home quarantine hindi na kailangan sa Adelaide kasi bibigyan ka nag clearance na sa Adelaide? Medyo magulo pa po sakin since magBM din po kami ni wife this May.

@kyle1213 Depende siguro sa state. SA requires everyone who enters the state to self-isolate for 14 days.

Sa tingin ko yung point of self-isolating once you reach SA kahit na nag self-isolate na sa NSW is because possible na makuha yung virus on the flight from Sydney to Adelaide.

nag ask n ako sa smartraveller australia, sabi nila if two flights, hindi ka ppygan sumakay sa 2nd flight mo. mag clear k kasi sa immigration sa Sydney, so dun plang isolated ka na at sa designated hotel/facilty ka dadalhin na under sa Gov., sila ang may sagot sa lahat.

pero nag ask ako ulit if need pa din mag isolate pag papunta kn sa last destination which is sagot din ng state ung tutuluyan mo pero hindi pa sila nag reply.

ang hassle kasi kung 2 weeks, 2weeks uli.

there is a possibility na mag contribute ang traveller sa cost of quarantine, its up to the state kung i shoulder nila lahat na cost or would ask contribution from the traveller.

just prepare for some extras, kasi we would never know until then...

wait and see pa rin ako sa mag ina kong stranded din sa Pinas, hirap makakuha ng flight papuntang Manila, karamihan ng domestic flights on hold....

•The Commonwealth will provide support through the ABF and ADF for these arrangements across Australia, and that states and territories would meet the costs and determine any contributions required for travellers arriving within their jurisdictions.

mas okay na pahupain muna ang Covid bago pumunta dito for the following points:

    1. d mo rin naman sure kung makakalabas ka ng Pinas until then;
    2. pagdating dito quarantine ka, saan ka hahanap ng iyong accommodation?
    3. d ka rin makalabas to process ur medicare, pag d sya activated, paano na lang pag naospital ka, kuha ka private insurance?
    4. d ka rin makakahanap ng work, wala ka pang phone sim, d ka maka open account, d ka makakaonline grocery.
    5. d ka din makakahanap ng trabaho

in short makalusot ka man, mahihirapan ka pa din dito, baka maubos baon mo nyan...

just stay where you are at the moment and wait when things are back to normal.

this is an evolving phenomena, soon all will be better.

I super agree. The 14 day quarantine will limit your activities inside your home/accomodation. Otherwise if caught, you will face fines and jail time. Authorities will do random checks to see if you are really at home.

BUT OF COURSE YOU DONT WANT TO BE THIS KIND OF PERSON given this Covid situation? And remember the consequences: fines, jailtime and matic yan pasok sa criminal record.

For me, if you can have means to afford to BM and discipline to be quarantined for 14 days, why not, BM na :) :) . Arrange your accomodation prior to getting here or stay in hotel maybe. Have someone buy your necessities, groceries and food (take note: walang grocery online shopping and delivery in some areas at the moment). You can enroll din naman in private health insurance na pwede weekly ang coverage, term and payment.

As for the job hunting, definitely several industries will be affected like hospitality and tourism, if dito ka belong prepare to be jobless for a while. Pero if nasa health industry ka, in demand ka for sure. As for my industry, accounting, I started applying beginning of March, so far wala pa mga callback. I did receive few emails from some companies that they will not have face-to-face interviews at the moment, pero they will arrange for video call interviews.

As per Prime Minister national address this morning, he wants everthing to be as if business as usual, he wants people to continue to work, the kids to go to school and keep economy and businesses running. So sana, and I hope, companies will continue recruiting.

meron po ba sa inyo na naka-receive na ng response from this email?

Hello sir, Sabi ng Premier ng Victoria at NSW, all cost daw po will be handled by the govt.

Mag expire ang IE which is Nov p naman.

Sabi kasi sa https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/current-alerts/novel-coronavirus, under "Exemptions to travel restrictions" - You can come to Australia. You will need to self-isolate for 14 days, at home or in a hotel. Provisional (temporary) visa holders can not come to Australia.

Ay sorry, not recently ha. 2017 pa..

Mag expire ang IE which is Nov p naman.

Baka lang kasi hindi pa lifted ang travel restrictions by that time.

I have visa 189 granted last 2017. Ang naging IE namin is 2 weeks after the grant date. So medyo mahirap mag plan.. yun visa grant namin, may kasamang attachment na waiver.. sinasabi dun na kung ma breach namin yun IE date, ok lang daw, di nila icancel ang visa namin.. nag clarify ako, nag email ako sa kanila.. dumating yun email 3 days before IE. E that time, my ticket na rin kami, so hindi na kami nag rebook.

Email nyo nalang sila, sabihin mo yun situation mo po and why it is not possible for you to make an IE. Im sure they will understand. Sasagot po yan, mga less that 2 weeks after sending an email. :)
