@Cassey hi cassey! yung proposed changes po nila, will it affect those who will be doing a conversion course po ba? in my understanding, those who will finish the conversion course wouldnt be considered internationally qualified nurses anymore right, as we'll be graduating with a bachelors degree from australia... am i understanding it correctly?

@naloolala77 It's quite hard to say who are and who are not affected at this time. But from my point of view, you are still considered an internationally qualified nurse because in the first place you didn't do the whole Bachelor's degree here in Au. You are enrolled in a 1yr shortened Bachelor's Degree on the basis that you are an internationally qualified nurse. If that makes sense, hehe I maybe wrong though..

Hi Ms @Cassey, may tanong po ako pra sa kapatid ko. RN dn po sa pinas, mga nasa 5 years na dn work exp. I live here in Perth WA and would want to help her migrate. Ano po ang mas malinaw na pathway to registering to AHPRA. Kelangan po ba nya ng conversion course or bridging program? May alam po ba kayong schools or educ institutions na ok dito sa Perth. Thank you. ☺️

@Karenkeng Hi, with her experience pwede siyang kumuha ng bridging course which is way shorter than a conversion course. She needs to take English test first and if she meets the needed score she can then send her papers to AHPRA for assessment through post. If she is qualified to do the bridging, AHPRA will send her a Letter of Eligibility. Then, start na ng process for the student Visa.

"Moving from US to AU: Planning to be a nurse in AU"

    Hi All!
I am new here and I am glad I found this forum! :)

Here's my situation: Living in the USA for 2 yrs now, Just granted a PR visa in Aus & a nurse back in the Philippines.

Share ko na din muna ang aking story sainyo before I ask some questions & advice from you guys.. Nandito kami ngayon currently sa US together with my husband, but planning to migrate na lang sa Aus which we are thinking kasi na mas ok mag start ng family and career compared dito sa US, especially nowadays na lalong mas bumagal ang immigration system dito.

Ang main applicant nga pla is yung husband ko, he is a medical lab scientist and na-meet nia yung point system for PR (189). While nag pprepare kami ngayon dito to move sa Aus, I am researching na din sa AHPRA website & dito sa forum kung paano mag apply sa Aus as RN. Actually, sobrang laking tulong nitong forum, I learned a lot na kaagad based sa mga comments and pag share ng experiences ng ating mga kababayan. I have some specific concerns lang and hopefully sa pamamagitan nitong forum, ma-enlighten ako about the application process to become an RN sa Aus.

    My concerns:
1.ENGLISH TEST: Ano po kaya ang madaling ma-pass and ma-meet agad yung required score ng AHPRA in one take, IELTS or PTE?
2.AHPRA: Am I qualified pa din po kaya for bridging program even if may gap na yung last RN experience ko sa Pinas? My last RN experience was 2015 po.
3.TUITION FEE: As PR, may student discount po kaya sa bridging program?

Thank you so much po sa mga makakasagot ng mga dilemma ko, big help!:)
    God bless us all!

    @asrd
    Hi,
    1. Mas madaling makakuha ng high score with PTE.
    2. Qualified ka pa rin for bridging as long as your experience is within 5yrs prior to application.
    3. Based on my reading, I think the rate will be the same as the Commonwealth Fee but it says that you have to pay for it upfront.

All the best on your move.

    @Cassey hello maam,
i have a question. I'm having second thoughts if i should pursue applying for a bridging course. since by the time im there i'll only have 2 years experience as an age care nurse. im working here in uae as a homecare nurse and im afraid by the time il have skills assessment, il get dissaprove sa application ko for pr since i only have 2 yrs experience. possible ba na pwede yun 1 yr experience ko as an aesthetic nurse in a derma clinic? so it'll be a total of 3 years international paid experience? pero il be applying for 254412 registered nurse (aged care)?

@auvreylee Hi, you can still do Bridging. You don't actually need to have 3yrs experience to have a positive LOD from ANMAC. You will only need 3yrs if you will be needing 5points for migration purposes.
Unfortunately, you have to choose 1 among the 2 specializations and you can only claim points for whatever experience is related to that code. To get the 5points it must be 3yrs for that specific code. You can't add in your experience in a Derma clinic to that of the aged care.

@Cassey but according to one of the requirements for ANMAC, I should have 3 years international paid work experience. so 2 years for aged care is fine? im afraid il be doing the expensive bridging course and in the end il get a "not suitable for migration" result from anmac due to only 2 years aged care experience. i know its a gumble and after bridging course there's no assurance of landing a job. but atleast i want to know if i'll get a chance of PR with my job experience. thank you

@auvreylee If you read it closely, it says there that criteria 4 doesn't apply to international students who recently graduated in Australia... Even those who have zero experience are able to get a positive LOD so I can't see any reason why you can't. Have you checked your migration points yet? If you will claim 5points for your experience then you will need to have 3years but if you will not need it then you don't have to have 3yrs of experience. I hope that's clear to you now.

There are a lot of jobs for nurses by the way.

@Cassey but i am not a graduate from australia, you are talking about the conversion 1-2 years study right?, hopefully i can take the bridging course. but will i still get a chance for PR despite of having only 2 years of homecare experience here in the middle east? bcoz after the bridging il be needing a skill assessment for anmac that is for migration right?

@Cassey oohh na gets ko na ata. wen i get my skill assessment from anmac and i tried to check my migration points, i got 65 points even without the 5 points for the 3 yrs experience.

@auvreylee Yes, you can apply for PR as long as you meet the needed points for migration which will be verified through the ANMAC skills assessment. Yung LOD yung magiging basis mo for claiming points.
You will be a graduate of Australia once you finish bridging course.

@cassey, meron bang update jan sa application for PR na dapat may four years ka muna na nsa Australia bago maging eligible? Nagtaka lang ako sa sinabi ng agent, eh wala naman ako masearch sa google and dto sa forum about dun.

@bOgs_25 I think ang sinasabi niya is for citizenship. May new policy silang iintroduce na you have to be a PR for 4yrs bago ka maging eligible for citizenship. Definitely not for PR. Pwede kang magapply for PR anytime as long as you get an invite and you meet the points for migration.

@auvreylee I haven't heard of any aged care facility sponsoring. Most if not all are hospitals. It will give you an edge as long as you present yourself well on job interviews.

@auvreylee Sponsorships are not as many as before. Even so if one can't find a sponsorship they can always apply for a Permanent Visa which is even better.

Good day po! Ask po ako advice regarding ANMAC assessment po for PR application.. magbridging na po ako this coming august and I am eyeing to be registered to AHPRA by November. Gusto ko sana magapply po agad ako for PR kasi dami ngkakaroon ng changes sa process. Ask lang po ako ng advice of I am eligible to apply.. I have 7yrs experience po kaso iba ibang field of nursing.. 2.5yrs staff nurse under medical, 2.10yrs school nurse under conmunity nurse, 1.8 yrs nurse educator.. ang recent exp ko po is nurse educator. Nabasa ko sa assessment need ng 3yrs recent exp based on the anzsco code you will apply.. paano po kaya ung case ko?? Thanks po!

@Maceda1112 You can apply as long as pasok yung points mo for migration. You can estimate your points and see if you can get 60points through this link:
    http://pinoyau.info/plugin/page/point-system

Unfortunately, para nga makakuha ka ng 5points for work experience, you must have 3yrs of experience based on the code that you'll be choosing. 3yrs is only needed if you're claiming points but if not, you'll still be eligible to apply as long as you meet the required 60points for migration.

Hello everyone. Hingi po sana ako ng tulong. ANMAC is in the process of assessing my credentials for a modified skills assessment and they just reached out to me asking for my Bridging/Adaptation course certificate. What would be the best reply po kasi i got my AHPRA registration via the Trans - Tasman Act of 1997 kasi registered nurse din ako sa NZ. Gusto ko rin po sana ihighlight na i got my NZ registration even without the CAP/Bridging course. Enough na yung experience ko sa Singapore to gain registration. Thank you in advance sa recommendations and suggestions.

Hi po, I'm looking forward po sa assessment ko po with ANMAC. May tanong lang po ako. Company nurse po kasi ang experience ko po dito sa Philippines. According po sa ANMAC website:

Who can I use for my professional references?
    - You should use the person who directly managed or supervised you. This person must be a nurse or midwife.

What if my direct supervisor is not a nurse or a midwife?
    - If your direct supervisor is not a nurse or midwife, a statement to this effect should be included in the reference. Please note, a reference from sections of an organisation, such as Human Resources or Payroll, is not suitable for this assessment.

Ano po kaya ibig sbhin ng a statement to this effect should be included in the reference?

    Thank you po
