Hi, tanong ko lang sa Essay dapat minimum of 200 words and 300 max. Summarize Spoken Text is between 50-70 words. Ilan sa Summarize Written Text?

Essay- at least 200 to 300. Pede ka mag exceed.
Summarize spoken text- at least 50-70 words pede ka ring mag exceed.
Summarize written text- Only 1 sentence, you can type as many words as you can...basta 1 sentence lang..

pagkakaintindi ko HINDI DAPAT MAG-EXCEED. Essays should be between 200 to 300 words.

and make sure malakas ang recording. adjust the mic sensitivity correctly based on your voice. and para sigurado, lakasan mo na rin boses mo.

took the exam yesterday. nkakafrustrate lang, sa IELTS writing yung lowest ko, pero sa PTE yun yung highest ko pero bagsak ako sa speaking. haay.

Keep on trying. I have taken 3 times IELTS..and 3 times PTE.. may nakasabay ako 7 times IELTS.. 2 times PTE..

more practice sa describe image at retell lecture! gusto ko na sana magbook ng exam for october kaso sumabay naman ang projects sa office na puro overtime.
try ako ulet. one last time. siguro maginvest ako sa gold kit, kapag nagimprove dun tsaka ako magtake ulet ng exam.

@kristine_1377 - I'm not sure of this. Try calling the test centre instead. Passport normally even in other countries.

@Hunter_08 yes. nagooverlap din yung mga criteria for scoring. like sa speaking part, may impact ang re-tell lecture at repeat sentence sa listening. sa listening test naman, meron impact sa writing ang write the missing word or summarize lecture

@kristine_1377 may nakasabay ako sa exam na gumamit ng ID pero hindi ko sure kung anong klaseng ID yun, hindi ko nakita kung SSS ba sya or prc pero laminated na tipo ng ID but if I'm not mistaken driver's licence is not accepted.

@eischied_21 to get a good score in writing, try to reach the max words allowed. for example max of 300 words, try to write up to 280-299 but don't exceed the max words or less than the min words.

@NicoDC - don't lost hope.. Try to avail the Gold package exam from PTE website. You're score from there will be your benchmark. Normally mas mahirap yung gold package kaysa sa actual exam.

1. Read Aloud - Napansin ko. Don't just read, but read with feelings. Try to read a bit louder.
2. Retell lecture - Make some notes, and then look into the image while talking. Talk and Talk within that 40secs, kahit taliwas na sa lecture. Who knows..
3. Describe Image
3.1. Normally what I do is General to Specific. Mention yung title ng graph, then ano yung x axis, then ano yung y axis.. then saang source
3.2 Describe what is very visible - example yung maximum or yung minimum na data
3.3 Describe the trend - is it directly proportional, inversely proportional, uptrend or downtrend
3.4 Compare - Compare mo yung pinakamataas and then yung pinakamababa..
Example: "The highest in the graph is plastic which is around 5 Tons", whereas the lowest is from non-biodegradable waste which is 1 Ton, that's almost 5 times differents.
3.5 Say what type of graph it is - "This line graph shows", "This pie Chart shows".
3.6 Last resort - if you don't know how to explain the graph, just describe the color(technique na nabasa ko somewhere else).

Base on the above it's almost ~40secs na yan which is enough for the answer.

4. Repeat Sentence - For me, nawawala ako pagdating ng last word.. so lagi kong tinatandaan ang last word.. I guess for this is really practice..

5. Answer short question - As much as possible only one word. If you don't know the answer, just speak anything. as in anything.

6. Practice practice.. pray pray pray..

Guys!!! Maramimg salamat sa thread na to lalo na kay @filipinacpa. First time ko magtake ng non-technical exam after ko grumaduate and grabe talaga ung kaba ko. Super strict pa dun sa testing center sa Makati. Eto yung score ko L:90 R:90 S:71 W:90. Nasayangan ako sa speaking kasi goal ko maka-20 pts pero ok na rin kasi nawindang naman talaga ako sa speaking section (maingay + mental block). Magiiwan lang ako ng tips tsaka ng mga naobserve ko during the exam.

1. I arrived 30 minutes before the exam pero napansin ko may nauna pa saken and matagal na silang nagstart bago pa ung scheduled time. So feeling ko, kung ayaw mong madistract kasi sabay2 nagsasalita, dapat maaga ka dumating.
2. Sobrang nahirapan ako sa repeat sentence! Nabasa ko kasi dito na mas madali daw ung repeat sentence sa actual exam compared sa Macmillan kaya hindi nako masyadong nagprepare dun pero grabe ang haba kaya ng sentences! Kalevel nya ung mga repeat sentence sa Macmillan plus maingay pa ung mga kasabay mo.

4. Sa writing parts, sinigurado ko lang na umabot sa minimum required number of words ung sentence or essay ko.
5. Hindi ko rin tinatapos ung time sa speaking parts, nagnext ako agad, pero 71 lang ako sa speaking so wag nyo masyadong seryosohin ung tip na yan.
6. Mas madali ung Reading section ng actual exam compared sa Macmillan.
7. Before each section, may page muna na nakalist yung pagkakasunod sunod nung items so feeling ko ok lng kung hindi ka bibili ung graded practice exam for the purpose of familiarizing yourself with the actual exam.

@NicoDC sa describe image, nagresearch ako sa youtube ng describing trends and graphs. yung mga introduction sa describing graphs dun ko nakuha.

Examples:
1. I would like to refer to the graph on the screen....
2. the bar graph on the screen represents.... (mention the title)
3. this pie chart represents
4. this line graph shows... the thick line represents... the thin line... shows...

gaya ng advise ni Misterkhen, mention what type of graph. 'This bar graph shows...' , this pie chart represents the sales... mention the year/period... then followed by highest/lowest trend. As much as possible, avoid fillers

Read aloud - emphasize the words. kung sa tingin mo mabilis ka magsalita, then adjust your pace.

Before you take the speaking test, make sure that you test the mic kapag andun ka na sa test mic section. Pag sa tingin mo may hangin pag nagsasalita ka, lower down the mic ng konte then try again until it sounds perfect to you.

Speak with the right amount of conviction, speed, volume and confidence. You'll do fine

@RMD Thanks! Sa read aloud nung umpisa normal lang ung volume ng pagsasalita ko since malakas naman sya nung pinakinggan ko sa recording kaso nung nagstart na magsalita yung mga katabi ko, nilakasan ko kasi baka mas marecord ung boses nila compared saken hehe.
