@Julian The reading portion is not that hard IMHO. Average lang yung mga words na gamit sa fill in the blanks and may context clues. Sa multiple choice, binasa ko muna yung question bago yung paragraph para hindi information overload. Sa re-order paragraph, need mo lang talaga hanapin yung first sentence then tuloy tuloy na yun. May makikita kang namang clue sa previous sentence kung ano yung susunod.

pray also na walang masyadong aberya or distructions during the exam...noong unang take ko naghang ang PC na ginagamit ko..nagpanic ako..nawalan ng focus.. on my 2nd take, may construction sa labas ng test centre..rinig na rinig sa loob yung pagpokpok ng martilyo..... Fortunately, on my 3rd take..walang aberya..at smooth flowing...

It is possible to get 79+ sa PTE academic! Ako na mismo na nag sasabi sainyo. Walang susuko!!!

Score ko: LSR - 85 W - 90

Overall Tips:
- PTE-A is 50% being familiar sa exam, and setting strategies. 50% actual English Skill

- If you take time to read the scoring system, ung content ang priority sa speaking.

- Wag mag papa distract! The room was half full nung nag take ako. I can hear like 5 voices sabay sabay nag sasalita. Pero hindi ako nag pa tinag. In fact, it motivated me to speak clearer and louder. The mic will not catch any unwanted noise. Maganda ung headset nila.

- My mic was beside my mouth this time. My first take nasa chin ko, pero i got a low score in speaking. So I think positioning matters.

Tips for each part: ( I always get excited reading posts like these, so its my turn to give you tips).

Read Aloud
- Read the text clearly and loudly. OA ako sa pag buka ng bibig para marecognise nya ung words. Pero becareful, wag ung sobrang OA na parang robot. Fluent pa din dapat. Do not mispronounce or skip any words. This will affect your score.

Repeat Sentence
- Sinulat ko ung initials ng each word sa notepad. Make sure na before you take down notes, mag scribble ng lines, kasi may times na ung pen nawawalan ng tinta sa umpisa. This is a case to case basis. Ung iba matalas ang memory kaya d na need to.

Describe Image
- I used the format recommended in the forum.
1.) The bar/pie/line/diagram graph illustrates/shows/depicts + paraphrased version ng topic. (10s)
2.) Highest Point and Lowest Point (10s)
3.) Conclusion/Recommendation/Forecast (20s)
- During my first take, d aq nag focus sa #3, nag focus ako sa #2, pero I got a lower score. Iyong number 2 kasi, based sa actual image ung content kaya napapa isip talaga ago. Ang tendency d ako fluent at puro hmmm. Sa retest ko, nag focus ako sa #3 eto ung based sa iyong analysis. Pwede ka ditong mag imbento, recommend kaya mas naging fluent ako.
- Mga general line ko sa #3 (In conclusion, etc. It is recommended that the government should take action on this by implementing rules and regulation etc. Based from historical data, it is expected that this trend will continue to grow in the next few years etc.)
- I googled graph images and inisa isa ko sila habang ineexplain. Ginawa ko to araw araw to the point na nakabisado ko na.

Retell Lecture
This one requires note taking, summarising skills
Format:
1.) The main topic is + paraphrased version ng main topic.
2.) Content - mga important points na nasabi. General line: According to the speaker, etc....
3.) Nag lagay din ako ng personal touch sa retell lecture by adding Conclusion/Recommendation/Forecast (20s)

Answer Short Question
- Just answer the question with few words as much possible. Sinabi ko ung sagot as is. No more addition of articles "a/an/the" or long phrases "the answer is... In the... located in..."
- Remember, d agad mag oopen ung mic, wait nyo ung Recording status

Summarize Written Text/Essay
- The power of synonyms. Tandaan nyo na ung mga synonyms at related vocab ng health, sports, education, schools, government, laws, internet, computer, technology etc.
- The power of "power words": catalyst, precursor, correlate, eradicate, curriculum, alleviate, fortify, strengthen, efficiency, effectiveness etc. Pinilit kong isingit iyong mga yan para mag make sense ung sentence.
- Use complex sentences
- Way way back sa IELTS, I memorised the correct verb tenses. Take this into consideration when writing. Subject verb agreement is very important too.
- Take note of common misspelled words.
- I personally not use pronoun or phrases like "in my opinion, I, For me, Myself, you, I believe, I think) Instead use passive sentences, like it is suggested, it is believed, it is recommended.
- Practice tip: Mag sulat sa notepad and time yourself. Then lipat nyo sa microsoft word, and press F7.

General Reading
- Personally, may questions na sobrang hirap, may sobrang dali.
- May isang part na nag tagal ako kasi kahit anong basa ko d q ma absorb. Kaya ang ginawa ko nalang is pray and selected my best answer.
- Do not consume more time than necessary sa mahirap na items kasi masasayang iyong bandang dulo na mas madali.

Multiple-choice single answer
- Madaming obvious na wrong answers, so eliminate nyo na agad at wag ng balikan para d na mag consume ng time.

Multiple-choice choose multiple answers
- If you read the scoring system, 1 right = 1 point, 1 wrong = minus 1 point.
- So if you are not sure, just answer the ones na 100% kang tama. But if you are a risk taker like me, then go ahead, trust your instincts.

Re-order Paragraphs
- Sobrang obvious ng mga napunta saken. I hope ganun din iyong sainyo. I personally like reorder paragraphs.

Fill in the blanks (Reading)
- May section about verb tenses, so please study them
- The rest is about collocations and personal vocab based from your experience since elementary

Summarize Spoken Text
- Power of synonyms and power words again.
- Nag tytype lang ako sa PC habang nakikinig.

Fill in the blanks (Listening)
- You can use "tab" to go to the next field.
- I personally read with the speaker and move my mouse so I know where the speaker is.

Highlight Correct Summary/Multiple-choice single answer/select missing word
- Look at the question quickly so you have the idea. You have like 5 seconds before the actual prompt starts.
- Just listen and absorb, then take notes

Highlight Incorrect Words
- Move your cursor along with the speaker. I just open my mouth (without voice) as if ako ung nagsasalita, then click the incorrect word. Should be easy.

Write from dictation
- Same technique as repeat sentence (iyong using initials) , pero this time instead na sa notepad ko sinulat ung initials, sa keyboard aq nag type na naka all caps. Mas easy to kesa sa repeat sentence kasi you are using keyboard.

Please note na based from experience, nag work saken ung mga tips na yan. I can not assure you nag mag wowork din sainyo so I am just sharing them anyways.

Lastly, I told myself numerous times to never give up. Just believe in yourself.

Guys, pasali sa thread. I am going to take PTE on Oct 31 and I'm not yet too familiar with how the exam is being conducted. Nag-decide lang ako mag-take since a trusted friend recommended it to me. But recently, here's one petty issue has been concerning me: Nagkakarinigan ba ang mga examinees kapag speaking test na? Mabilis kasi ako ma-distract. At malakas din boses ko, baka maka-distract sa iba. Haha. I know this is silly but can someone please shed light on this? Thanks thanks!

Base sa mga comments dito eh nagkakarinigan nga lalo pag maliit yung place hehehe. Band 8 ba habol mo na score? Ang taas na kasi ng ielts mo eh. October 31 ka pala, dapat ilista natin dito yung mga mag tatake tapos balitaan dito para na rin sa mga susunod na mag take at lurkers hehe

@dominic Yes, I can hear 5 voices simultaneously speaking. In makati, may isang PC na isolated and enclosed (1 out of 16 PCs ata un), kaya lang random kung saang seat ka ma aassign. You have to be prepared worst case. I did not have any issues kahit sobrang lakas pa nila. Kasi during that time, I only minded my own business . Take note na hindi pa puno ung seats, half full lang, nung tinake ko. kaya it may be worse depende sa sched mo. kaya mo yan. I usually practice kasi kahit nanonood ng malakas ung family ko kaya sanay na haha.

Easy English Grammar - For me napaka helpful especially sa tenses.
Pearson Test Prep - Kelangan lang mag purchase ng ibang test inside the app.. But I use this for the reading comprehension

The rest na practice are all from youtube, google..

Pronounciation - try mo magsalita sa harap ng mirror.. or maghanap ka ng kausap na english lang talaga ang usapan.. Try reading a book/passage loudly with expression. kahit medyo OA na ang dating... in this way, you're both reading, speaking and listening na din..

base on my 3 times take ko sa PTE, technically, you can not really tell na mas mahirap yung nasa macmillan...or mas mahirap yung actual exam.. depende kasi kung anong type ng test ang mapunta sayo on that day..ang kaibahan lang is syempre timed ang actual... pray nlang natin na madali..

sa case ko, natapos ko na yung macmillan prior my 3rd take..so I had to search the web for reviewers, tips, and exercises..

basta practice, practice.. search mo lahat ang mga nasa google...

i tried pearson prep test last night, listening and speaking. mejo mabilis pala ang transition. pero sabi ng iba mas mabilis pa yun actual! long way to go with less than a month to review.
