Recent Update from VETASSESS
Applicable for those who submitting VET applications on or after 01 Jan 2015

From 1 January 2015, VETASSESS is introducing a revised Skills Assessment process for general professional occupations. The Skills Assessment will include an assessment of the highest qualification level and the “date deemed skilled” based on qualification and employment evidence provided.

The skills assessment criteria will remain the same as earlier. However from 1 January 2015 onwards they are going to mention the date deemed skilled that is the date after which you can claim the skilled employment points for your employment. Applications received before this date will be assessed by the prevailing rules.

For example if you are applying for an X occupation for which a Bachelors Degree and Y number of years of relevant post qualification experience is required to meet the Vetassess skills assessment criteria, in that case the skilled employment date would be after deduction of Y years from your total relevant employment. In this case Vetassess will specify the date from when employment is deemed as skilled in the skills assessment letter as per this new update.

@pausatio bale preho na din yan sa ACS may 'met date' yung the 'date deemed skilled'. Halimbawa lang yung experience mu is Jan 2010 - Jan 2015, after ma assess at sinabi ni VETASSESS na date deemed skilled is Jan 2013, meaning yung experience mu pa lang after Jan 2013 (2 years) yung pwede mu e count for skilled employment points.

Changes to VETASSESS Skill Assessment process for General Professional Occupations from 01 January 2015

Starting from 01 Jan 2015, there will be few changes to the Skill Assessment process for General professional occupations assessed by VETASSESS. There will be a change in assessment fee and the processing time will be 8-10 weeks provided that the applications are assessment-ready. The most important change is the introduction of “date deemed skilled” based on qualification and employment evidence provided. It means that based on the applicant’s qualification and employment evidence provided within the last 10 years, VETASSESS will determine the date at which the applicant is deemed skilled based on closely related employment. It refers to the date that an applicant is considered skilled in their nominated occupation and therefore eligible for claiming employment points from that date and not earlier.

An example provided by Vetassess is as follows for better understanding:

An applicant nominating the occupation of Chemist (ANZSCO Code: 234211) completes a relevant Bachelor degree in 2007 and has four years of relevant work experience from January 2010 to December 2013.

One year of work experience post the relevant qualification meets the skills assessment criteria and the date the applicant is deemed skilled will be January 2011. Therefore, all relevant/closely related employment from January 2011 will be considered skilled employment and eligible for points test purposes.

Yes. According dun sa agency na nag-assess sakin dito sa SG last January, they will deduct the 1st year of your experience so kung ang xp niyo po ay 6 years na they will only consider your 5 years working experience.

@cathcath i need minimum 7 for each, para makakuha ng 10points for english Try ko mgpra re-mark bka ma consider. Hirap din matgal na di nag-aaral, may kalawang ng yung writing, hehe.

oh i see..mas madaling magparemark sa writing saka sa speaking kesa sa listening saka reading. Unfortunately sa listening pa ako nadale pero nung nagrereview ako lagi ako nag eexcel sa listening kesa sa reading. iyak tawa na lang ako.haha

@guenb hi...mag pte academics ka na lang...ako din waiting for assessment pag hindi sumampa ng 60 baka magtake ulit ako ng english...i was a reviewee of niners sa manila mahirap daw talaga makakuha ng 7 lalo na sa writing...lahat sa akin 7.5 except sa writing 6.5 ako...hay...kaya kung palarin na maka 60 ako sa lahat swerte na kasi ayoko ng magexam ulit...hehehe

Hi guys.may question sana ako regarding sa assesment ng vetassess, yung work exp ko ksi date covered nya ay 07/2004-12/2009 pero yung nasa vetassess na date 05/2009-12/2009 lng, ano po kaya possible reason?at meaning po ba nun is yun lng din ang pede ko ideclare sa EOI?

@chubby24 6 months lng ang nacredit s work mo? Bakit kaya..sana may mkapg explain syo, waiting p din kasi ako sa result ko. Ang alam ko kasi 1 year ang ikakaltas sa related work. 1 company lng b yung 2004-2009 mo? Goodluck n lng din po.

@chubby24 hala bakit 6 months lang! kinabahan tuloy ako, ongoing pa din kasi ang assessment ko e, dun sa work experience niyo sir/mam, same work lang ba yun? 1 company lang din? saka yung nominated skill niyo, related sa course? Hindi kaya dahil dun kaya nagbawas ng years dun sa experience?

@omeng22 Yung assesment di related yung course ko sa nominated job ko pero yung present job ko related,tas positive nman yung result ng assesment kso lng nabawasan ang length.

@chubby24 i see, baka kaya nagbawas ng years sa experience kasi hindi related course? nabasa ko kasi kapag hindi related ang course pwede parin maging positive ang assessment, yun nga lang may deduction sa years of experience, pero yung lahat job experiences ninyo related sa nominated skill? isang company lang ba lahat ng experience? Again any information about this would be very much appreciated, on-going kasi ang assessment ko hehehe

@chubby24 yun nga daw ang declare sa eoi. Mas ok n daw n mbaba ang points n claim mo kesa over, pero minsan daw yung eoi nmn nagcredit ng additional points for you kahit d credit sa vetassess assessment basta make sure daw n yung claim mong point is 60 sa eoi, so kung itaas man nila, pasok k p rin talaga. This aug lang ako nagpasa kaya waiting p rin. Kakatanggap ko lng ng mail ng resibo din. Isang employment company lng kasi pinasa ko, so hopeful nmn ako n sana ok. Goodluck syo.

Question lang po, if si vetassess binawasan yung work experience, pwede po ba ideclare sa visa lodging na iba? For example :

Evaluated ni vetassess ay 2yrs 6mos pero kasi 3yrs 6mos na ako sa company. So pwede ako magclaim ng 3yrs? Thanks
